im amazed by how many negative comments keep coming up. im a pesimist myself but i find the optimism the guys have and the whole idea about both trips so inspiring..
why were russ and dave hugging?? there both going, lol u see ewan kiss eve and everybodys hugging there wives and stuff and then russ and dave start hugging, this is madness. lol
Do I expect too much in thinking they ought to have had their gear more sorted out before they left John o'Groats? Whether it's the support vehicles & baggage organized or the riders' gear, I would've thought they'd have it more dialed-in, particularly after LWR. (And I just finished re-watching that - LWR - two days ago.)
@SockMonkey007 Officially, the trip meter starts in Scotland (geographically above UK) but because people don't really bother with routes within their own country and they will still go past their London office before heading to the immigration, the official start is a lot more low key than usual. They can make full use of this 800km stretch to fine tune their bikes/ equipments before really leaving UK.
Let me say that I like the new Surgeon a HELL of alot better than that crochety Russian prick they had last time. The old one was all doom and gloom, and anytime something happened he insisted everyone on the expedition were all idiots. This guy? Great sense of humor, and no nonsense...and he's as big as a fuckin' GS1200 himself! Good attitude
respect for him man, i honestly have, im from an army family and im an army man myself and i know how tough army life can be especially when your an army ranger
while i do agree i dont think its totally fair to the russian they were driving threw 1 degree water in Siberia and they thought charlie tore out shoulder ligaments.
@neothespian too true - I couldn't believe that Russian guy complaining about everything and how it was all too dangerous... yet he was smoking in just about every clip - anybody explain to him the dangers of smoking?
I've got to say, I'm really impressed with these guys after seeing the Long Way Round. That must've been an incredibly difficult trip, but they made it all the way.
@CatAtomic99 Yeah, The Long Way Around is a HARD ride man. Me an my friend have been talking about ride the US coast for years, so I think its about time! I am going to document the whole trip.
Thank You so much for posting this!!!!, i've noticed, especially with Ewan how much more emotional he was during this journey especially there UNICEF places they went to.
The waterproof bag for the toilet paper is the most important item in my opinion.

be cool if they really rode the whole world eventually. of course you cant do it in one go, but they already did a lot already.
they need to do all of south america as well, parts of india, china, japan, etc.

Spotted dick is simply a steamed sponge pudding with sultanas in it, served with a pouring custard. It's delicious!
