@brucefetter In 1980s he joined the Afghan volunteer army and fought in Afghan against Red Russia which were invading Afghanistan. In the guerilla's camp base, he worn a white Karate-gi and taught Taijutsu to the guerillas. The World Journalist gave him a nickname "Afghan Samarai" because of his fighting ability and spirit. In 2008 he left Fuji Ryu Taijutsu and founded Hiko Ryu Taijutsu.

Very nice quality, but I am not sure I would claim any fame from teaching the mujahadeen.
