To me that expression just meant "wow" or "well, there you have it". People are ascribing far too profound meaning to the trivialities of a celebrity's every action these days.
While I agree with most of what was said, it isn't a stereotype to the kids that are living this hell everyday. These stories have to be told. These characters are people who really do exist.
