Simon's Quest was my first Castlevania and is still my favorite. It never gets old I'm still finding glitches and new ways of doing things.

Would you say I'm a new gamer? I'm 14 but I didn't get a PS2 until 2002 and I had played the Sega Megadrive loads. I still play it and I have a bunch of mate who play retro games too, I'm just the youngest out of them.

My buddy and I back in the 80's used to play the hell out of this. Never got anywhere back then but this game was mega fun. As kids this game was much more appealing than the first one because you can just pick it up and play. It doesn't get controller bustingly hard after just a few levels.

Yes Ive played EDF 2017. I don't like it more then Zelda though. You always have a soft spot for the 1st game you ever played and Zelda was my 1st.

Hey Kwing, great review, but I do have to clarify something, there WAS a positive video review of the game out there on the internet. John D of RetrowareTV had made one in 2007, but that was back when they were first starting out, so it wasn't exactly easy to find.

Anyways, great review, I agree, though I personally would have given it a 7 out of 10, it had its issues, but it didn't break the game for me.

One of the hardest Castlevanias ever? Meh, Castlevania 3 and Bloodlines are the tough ones. This one's just time consuming and confusing if you don't know what to do.

Hey Kwing, love your Show, especially your Castlevania reviews. Thought that you might like to know, assuming that you don't, that a light-rail gun style Castlevania Arcade game was released in Japan and Europe. It was NOT, however, released in the US. If you have the time, please look up videos on this site for footage and music for Castlevania: The Arcade. Put simply, it's beautiful. I'm considering starting a petition for it to be in the US, and could use some help. If u can, plz help somehow

I love that even with your religious background you still enjoy these games! When I worked for E.B. Games years ago I would spend lots of time explaining to parents the differences in destroying evil vs. being evil in video games.

Yes there many titles I would never sell to a kid but some just had some great "triumph over evil" stories that many people should experience. Especially Splatterhouse and recently Dead Space with the "how far will you go for your loved ones" stories.

Castlevania Portrait of Ruin for the NDS. GREAT game! If you have a DS pick it up. Its the sequel to Castlevania Bloodlines. I too really like Super Castlevania and for me the best 2D game in the series is a tie between Super and POR, after that it would go Dracula's Curse,SOTN,Dawn of Sorrow,Castlevania,Drac X (ROB),Boodlines,Rebirth,HOD,Be­lmont's Revenge,Order of Eclisa,Legend and Simon's Quest.

Curse of Darkness and Judgement were ok but Lament was terrible. Lords of Shadow is good and wasn't out yet. Again this review is from 2008! The only amazing 3D CV game up until now, WAS LOD.

We are doing a ZAMN Co Op Review for TGS on the 27th and I will try to get a CV game ready by Halloween, it would be a game I haven't reviewed yet nd not SOTN, that game needs more prep time. That review will be next Oct only with Super GNG.
