  • can you learn this language somewhere?

  • Mnogo kasiva pesen-prikazka

  • I wonder if anyone understands that this is about the big bad wolf taking her virginity....

  • So, after months I'm back here. I can't speak gaelic (or something), I used a translation I found on the internet. What Mihanaflower said. If I remember in a good way, Eluveitie reconstructed the old language.

  • @GeorgieIk

It`s not Gaelic but an extinct language Gaulish

  • @MultiDelt Can you explain difference? I always thought that Gaelic and Gaulish are the same language.

  • @PMCEHeaven

Gaulish is extinct and it was spoken by the Gauls, people who used to live in what is now e.g. France and Switzerland (for example French comics` chartacters Asterix & Obelix are actually Gauls) and Gaelic is spoken NOW and there is Scottish Gaelic spoken in Scotland and Irish Gaelic spoken in Ireland. It sounds really different and is still alive for example they even have TV and radio in that language.

  • @PMCEHeaven Gauls were French, Germanic people and therefore spoke a different language. Even the Scots and Irish spoke a different language. The Irish speak Gaelic or Erse, the Scots speak Gallic. Gaulish is much like Latin, due to the fact the Romans pinched some of the Gaulish words and altered them slightly.

  • I never expected this song to be so...... Dramatic :o

It sounds so happy, but Er...

  • @Georgielk can you speak gaelic or somethin???!!!

  • yeah! 11,111th viewer!!!!

  • this makes me happy o3o

  • great job georgielk

  • I heard a guy listening to a song from Eluveitie today at work.....Are this band well or semi known in the U.S.? Cause I thought they weren't

  • 0 Unlike's omg , where are the h8ter's ? :P...!!

    Eluveitie ♥

  • @BDsoft: What haters? 0.o

  • @MultiShifties of eluvitie :P

  • @BDsoft: Exactly my point. "what haters"? There aren't any. I've yet to meet one. (that's what I meant when I commented.)

  • Nice song, but the mentality's as old as the language. The guy's an ass for using you for sex, and you're entitled to be angry and heartbroken and all the rest, but why shame? You have done nothing shameful. At least you got some sex out of it, learn your lessons and move on, unashamed and untainted. You are woman, and the sexual realm is under your dominance.

  • I figured out the metaphor for the song at 2:38 up to 3:00. o.0

The "wolf" is a boy who played with her heart and had sex with her, then left as she was falling in love, 'cause he never loved her, just used her. And she was overcome with shame afterwards...

...and I thought this was a pretty song when I /didn't/ know the words.

  • That wolf is a straight ballin' ass pimp. Hit it and quit it.

  • @beermandan420 People like you just make me sick...

  • @AmandaLilithFilth umad? trollan trollan trollan

  • how can it be a dead language if even a single person speaks and sings in this language?? great song, awesome band!!! keep up the good work :D

  • THANK YOU!!! I always wondered what the words meant!!!!

  • "selgin blatos tou uinitutos" translates into "i hunt for the flower of youth" ?

I am in no way Gaulish speaker, in Greek "silego blastus tis neotitos" translates as "i collect the stalks of youth" , interesting Indoeuropean stuff eh

  • This is so amazing!!! :D I love Eluveitiee!!!!

  • is it gaelic, celt, or what language and plz can someone send me a link to a translator?

    thank you and Farewell.

  • @MrMerdas123 it is gaelic. there is no translator for this language, because it is exstinct :)

  • Comment removed

  • @GeorgieIk Apperently it isn't existinct if people use it................

  • @GeorgieIk So.. how did Eluveitie member manage to learn it?

  • @GeorgieIk if it's extinct, how can she sing that song and how can you translate it?

  • @Kangooroo08 It is their language. They are from Switzerland they really know the language. The translation is provided by the band itself. The person who made this video took the English translation from the net.

  • @Kangooroo08 It's considered extinct because not enough people speak it anymore. How they learned the language was from pieces of pottery, scrolls and what have you that they worked with a historian to figure it out...At least, I think that was it. I remember reading how they learned the language, just not all of it.

  • @Kangooroo08 Sorry to say that both are wrong, but it's not extinct, it's dead. It means people can speak it, but it is no more usual in the average day (unless you have an time machine or teach the French theyr language again)

  • @SuperMusicHero I slowly get the drill, you are like the thousand-and-ones who explains me that.

  • @Kangooroo08 xD I liked you!

  • @GeorgieIk oooh thats very sad...sounds sooo nice and interested language

  • @GeorgieIk Gaelic is scotish, or the traditional scotish language which some of them still speak.

  • @MrMerdas123 This is Gaullish, a dead language native to Switzerland, France, and Belgium.

  • @MrMerdas123

it is a language what is only still spoken in a little part of switzerland, its called Gaulish^^

  • @MrMerdas123 It's Gaulish. It's a dead language that was spoken in Germany and France. It's a form of a Celtic language. They were a clan of Gaelic nomads.

  • @MrMerdas123

I wouldn't mind a link to that site myself. If you received it please pass it on to me. Thanx.

  • Naah.... Hard to sing becouse of language, but LOVE IT AS HELL. <3

  • @JadBozy Heh, I can sing it just fine. :)

  • @sargeantwelsh @myworld548: you're welcome :)

  • @GeorgieIk Actually the song is in Gaulish, not Gaelic. Gaelic isn't a dead language

  • @venapax thank you, my mistake :)

  • @GeorgieIk gaelic is irish :L

  • omg thank u person who uploaded this i love this song

  • So what does Eluveitie mean, man? :)

  • @minazmorgul Rough translation: Me the Helvetian.

Don't quote me on that, though.

  • danke danke!

  • So the wolf had sex with her?

  • @darthbonsly Wow, how could u think that? :)

  • @darthbonsly There was always a train of thought that the wolf was a man. The word wolf was used to describe someone who was manipulative and cunning.

  • really awesome !! i love it !!

  • thank you for uploading this.

  • Awesome!

  • idk what there saying( i do now.) but it is a very beautiful song and is full of passion!

  • i love this song =) im trying to sing in that languaje

  • @soareloboblanco I can easily sing it! Ha! Latin-based languages rules!

  • BTW, I'm learning this as the my first music on the Flute! Next to it i'm gonna try Slanias Song. I'm doing it, even because this music is easy (at least the flute part). It is repetitive, slow, and i can impress my metalhead friends =D
