I dont think the asurans actually use drones. Cos from what I see, they're just orange laser beams. Or if they do have drones, its the weaker version than the ones the ancients had before they ascended.
you forget that the asurans have energy weapons as well as drones, though drones are probably their main weapon, the energy weapon they have shoots small yellow beams which can easily be mistaken for drones, or maybe the drone hit the ship and you thought it hit the shield, but im pretty sure if anubis's flag ship couldnt survive a drone attack then almost no ship can.
@masterchief454 the goa'uld shields are weak compared to ori or ancient shields which are impenetrable as long as the energy requirements are met, since the goa'uld shields also have to deal with stress and not only power requirements.
id say a fully stocked ancient outpost is the ultimate weapon, they normally go right through shields (hence why some think hive ships dont have any, would prove useless) blows up ori :D
He may well of had ancient knowledge and an understanding of the tech, but without a physical body it's doubtful he had use of the ATA gene. Not to mention a lack of ZPM (or at least it was never mentioned).
Jack managed to alter a Goauld cargo ship Hyperdrive with knowledge of the Ancients, there's no reason Anubis couldn't hybridize under the same logic.
if he had ancient shield tech then any ancient device can pass through the field, i doubt that the has ancient tech, more a derivitave of that. although i dont know the facts.
i'm not sure but in one episode of sga a drone followed a puddle jumper which got shields like in the episode where mckay is trapped in a broken jumper and the drone exploded when it's hit the jumper shield

the clip shown at 2:10 is NOT about an Earth ship, it shows two wraith ships fighting the Orion which is an ancient war ship that they found abandoned on a planet in the pegasus galaxy. the people of that planet let them borrow the Orion because Sheppard and his team saved them when a volcano distroyed their planet. so not an Earth ship in that clip.but it is controled by people from earth. don't really care if it is or not but i'm just saying.. by the way LOVE the vidio and music great job!!!

Odyssey can cloak which makes it pretty much the flag ship. Apollo and Daedalus are pretty much serving full time in Pegasus. Phoenix will come into play hopefully in the new season, if not season 6 of Atlantis. Shame the Korolev got blown to hell.
Oh, and the new Ancient Galaxy Seeding ship in Stargate: Universe. Not sure if it's "ours" but Earth discovers it, uses the 8th chevron on a gate to dial to it. Sounds like an Ancient mothership.
not quite. it's not like every symbol needs a new ZPM. Travelling further andfurther requires more power, and at some point only ZPMs can give that amount of energy.
i agree, zpm's are the only energy source that is capable of giving off the energy required to travel to another galaxy, 9 chevrons would definatly need 2 zpm's.
i doubt the gate network extends that far. we know the ancients only visited 3 galaxies, but IF it was 410 galaxies away you would need a fair few ZPM'S.

it originally had five: Odyssey, Daedalus, Apollo, Prometheus and Korolev; the Prometheus attacked an Ori satellite and was destroyed in three shots while the Korolev was deployed before completion and bit the dust (along with several dozen others XD) when it bumped into four Ori battlecruisers...

idk, i understand that they couldnt for dramatics purposes, but why couldnt the daedalus just multi-lock the nukes? it would have given the wraith less time to prepare a counter for the beaming tech, it would take longer to prepare, but thats what evasive tactics are for! :)
they arent, its called a missile volley, the darts in that scene are intercepting them, not all of the missles target the same spot, smart missles can target specific areas of the ship like weapons, engines, etc., and that is what they were doing as colonial caldwell stated in hyperspace prior to the battle
the ancients where a purely defensive race most of their battleships where equipped with zpm's to increase their shield strength. the drones are a defensive weapon.
i think the reason the ancients where so arrogant was because no one had ever challenged them before the wraith.
shame earth weapons are so weak lol untill the last epsode "unending" anyway. and the anciets are cool but their combat sucks all they have are drone weopons i meen is that it? 1 of most advanced races and make thats the best they got?
The Ancients were really arogant. That said, the drones are really effective: they ignore shields, can fly straight through a ship and come round for a second go, are agile so can dodge interception or destroy fighters, and two have been seen to destroy a Hatak on their own! Then again the Asgard were around at the same time as the Ancients (The Torment of Tantalus), so they've had at least an extra 10,000 years to improve!
the ancients didnt need anything but the drones, as they could PRODUCE them thus creating a large amount if not a limitless number of them and they could detsory hives with enough of them, and doge darts

totaly agree with smokeqfx, the ori got at least like 4 motherships guarding the gate at once, or more, taking in account that the wraiths dont have any shields they would be no match for the ori.
what they should have done is take the 1st super gate to Pegasus then give the wraith the address of the ori galaxy super gate, imagine how fast those ori ships would head back through the super gate when they started getting reports of monsters feeding on their families all that would need to be done then would be to design a shield that could act as an iris for the super gate then when the ori try to return they get a nasty surprise
the supergate is made of individual parts that are designed to fit in the gate, thats how it was built, there is an episode in season 9 when this is shown, as far as getting hold of the wraith that could be done by activating the gate once in Pegasus the wraith would detect it, go to the gate location in time to see a 304 go thru they would follow and wow their would be wraith in the ori home galaxy, you would have an iris over the milky way supergate so they couldn't come here. problem solved
1 : humans and their allies have no knowledge of the construction of a supergate
2 : the wraith detected the nuclear detonations not the active gate
3 : the 304 would be trapped in ori space
4 : the wraith are no match for the ori
5 : the ori would then be aware of the pegasus galaxy
6 : if an iris on the supergate was even remotely possible why did they go through all the trouble of connecting to the supergate from pegasus in "the pegasus project"
well considering ori techonology is on parr with that of ancient techonology.... the wraith might jsut beat the ori- i mean they beat the ancients who were the same people?....

the replicators can beat the ori easyily because replicator lasers damage the hull and shields of a ship with hea build-up and blunt damage, they also chage the replicators shields so nothing can ppenetrate them what so ever.
I would say about 5-6 as well. As for the nukes...I actually think all of them are nukes. I mean thats the only missile that could possibly do any damage against ships. The 302s have normal missiles if that counts
I agree with 32silvercoins. There is no way all of the missiles on board a 304 are nukes. I would say that because when Daedulus and the Orion interecepted the Wraith in the episode "No Man's Land" the detenation of a nuke created a distinct blinding flash of blue color. But in the episode "first strike" the Apollo launched three missiles at the replicator satelite and they appeared to only creat an explosion similar to conventional weapons.
not all missiles carried by a daedalus ship are nucs, its just nucs are the specialty and most fetaured weapons...also remember they do have to arm the f-302s
i was thinking what if "Micheal" had disabled the jamming codes before the battle began and they could have beamed over the gass to both hives, they might have been able to have 3 304s, 2 hives and the aurora waiting for the ori on top of the hitaks (spelled wrong) and the asguard, of course they could have just put a shield over the super gate (bad for vala) or opened fire as soon as the came through(no time to raise shields), beam nukes on board or board and capture the ships???????
I don't think Hive ships would have helped. Plus Hives cant travel between galaxies. But the aurora would probably have done some damage. As for beaming nukes...that would work assuming they didnt have shields up right away. But I guess the writers thought that was too easy.
actually two hives of wraith could have been very helpful, imagine the shitfit the priors would have thrown when they started feeding on ori followers(not the same as before but funny)as far as not traveling between galaxies, that is what they were doing when confronted(i know they had to stop for regeneration).hives make better battering rams than hitak. besides ever notice why the ori never made a play for Pegasus their ships could leave the galaxy,look at unending, maybe they fear the wraith
Oh ya forgot the hive ships were already modified. Though I still don't think two hives would have made much difference. I mean remember how one shot from an ancient satellite destroyed a hive...and the ori beams look much more powerful. Also I think the reason why Ori didn't care about Pegasus is that there are barely any ppl there. Milkyway provides much more potential followers.
Actually I think they haven't travelled to Pegasus because the human population isn't that big, the wraith would never bow down to them so there is no point. Or maybe they are unaware of the existense of the people there, like they were with us before Jackson and Vala showed them.

as far as i can reember the only time you see drones going through shields is on sg1 against goa'ud ships
only 3 types of ships have had shields and been attacked by drones
the bc 304, the goa'uld hatak and the traveler ships of which 2 had shields that could withstand multiple drones
so saying drones go through all shields isnt really smart as they havent worked on 66% of shields so far

i wonder how the ori ships would fare against the wraith ships? for example if earth got there hands on one of those ships after the ori were shown the truth.

idk, i understand that they couldnt for dramatics purposes, but why couldnt the daedalus just multi-lock the nukes? it would have given the wraith less time to prepare a counter for the beaming tech, it would take longer to prepare, but thats what evasive tactics are for! :)

they arent, its called a missile volley, the darts in that scene are intercepting them, not all of the missles target the same spot, smart missles can target specific areas of the ship like weapons, engines, etc., and that is what they were doing as colonial caldwell stated in hyperspace prior to the battle

the ancients where a purely defensive race most of their battleships where equipped with zpm's to increase their shield strength. the drones are a defensive weapon.
i think the reason the ancients where so arrogant was because no one had ever challenged them before the wraith.

shame earth weapons are so weak lol untill the last epsode "unending" anyway. and the anciets are cool but their combat sucks all they have are drone weopons i meen is that it? 1 of most advanced races and make thats the best they got?

The Ancients were really arogant. That said, the drones are really effective: they ignore shields, can fly straight through a ship and come round for a second go, are agile so can dodge interception or destroy fighters, and two have been seen to destroy a Hatak on their own! Then again the Asgard were around at the same time as the Ancients (The Torment of Tantalus), so they've had at least an extra 10,000 years to improve!

in this clip you can see an ancient dfense sattelite destroy a wraith hive with a single shot from it's laser cannon.
Would have destroyed the other hives too if McKay hadn't screwed up.

the ancients didnt need anything but the drones, as they could PRODUCE them thus creating a large amount if not a limitless number of them and they could detsory hives with enough of them, and doge darts

what they should have done is take the 1st super gate to Pegasus then give the wraith the address of the ori galaxy super gate, imagine how fast those ori ships would head back through the super gate when they started getting reports of monsters feeding on their families all that would need to be done then would be to design a shield that could act as an iris for the super gate then when the ori try to return they get a nasty surprise

the supergate is made of individual parts that are designed to fit in the gate, thats how it was built, there is an episode in season 9 when this is shown, as far as getting hold of the wraith that could be done by activating the gate once in Pegasus the wraith would detect it, go to the gate location in time to see a 304 go thru they would follow and wow their would be wraith in the ori home galaxy, you would have an iris over the milky way supergate so they couldn't come here. problem solved

1 : humans and their allies have no knowledge of the construction of a supergate
2 : the wraith detected the nuclear detonations not the active gate
3 : the 304 would be trapped in ori space
4 : the wraith are no match for the ori
5 : the ori would then be aware of the pegasus galaxy
6 : if an iris on the supergate was even remotely possible why did they go through all the trouble of connecting to the supergate from pegasus in "the pegasus project"

the only reason they beat the ancients is because of their greater numbers.
and i believe it is obvious the wraith do not outnumber the ori.
also the ancient technology was based on a passive way of life while the ori is more aggresive.

the replicators can beat the ori easyily because replicator lasers damage the hull and shields of a ship with hea build-up and blunt damage, they also chage the replicators shields so nothing can ppenetrate them what so ever.

Does any one have any guesses as to how many railguns the Deadulus"sp" class carries
Im guessing to around 5 or 6 maybe as high as 8
Im also going to take a plunge and say that not all the missiles carried aboard are nukes

I would say about 5-6 as well. As for the nukes...I actually think all of them are nukes. I mean thats the only missile that could possibly do any damage against ships. The 302s have normal missiles if that counts

I agree with 32silvercoins. There is no way all of the missiles on board a 304 are nukes. I would say that because when Daedulus and the Orion interecepted the Wraith in the episode "No Man's Land" the detenation of a nuke created a distinct blinding flash of blue color. But in the episode "first strike" the Apollo launched three missiles at the replicator satelite and they appeared to only creat an explosion similar to conventional weapons.

Also in first strike the captain of the Daedulus said to "arm all nukes" thats a pretty clear note that only some of the weapons are nukes

not all missiles carried by a daedalus ship are nucs, its just nucs are the specialty and most fetaured weapons...also remember they do have to arm the f-302s

i was thinking what if "Micheal" had disabled the jamming codes before the battle began and they could have beamed over the gass to both hives, they might have been able to have 3 304s, 2 hives and the aurora waiting for the ori on top of the hitaks (spelled wrong) and the asguard, of course they could have just put a shield over the super gate (bad for vala) or opened fire as soon as the came through(no time to raise shields), beam nukes on board or board and capture the ships???????

I don't think Hive ships would have helped. Plus Hives cant travel between galaxies. But the aurora would probably have done some damage. As for beaming nukes...that would work assuming they didnt have shields up right away. But I guess the writers thought that was too easy.

actually two hives of wraith could have been very helpful, imagine the shitfit the priors would have thrown when they started feeding on ori followers(not the same as before but funny)as far as not traveling between galaxies, that is what they were doing when confronted(i know they had to stop for regeneration).hives make better battering rams than hitak. besides ever notice why the ori never made a play for Pegasus their ships could leave the galaxy,look at unending, maybe they fear the wraith

Oh ya forgot the hive ships were already modified. Though I still don't think two hives would have made much difference. I mean remember how one shot from an ancient satellite destroyed a hive...and the ori beams look much more powerful. Also I think the reason why Ori didn't care about Pegasus is that there are barely any ppl there. Milkyway provides much more potential followers.

Actually I think they haven't travelled to Pegasus because the human population isn't that big, the wraith would never bow down to them so there is no point. Or maybe they are unaware of the existense of the people there, like they were with us before Jackson and Vala showed them.
