  • These guys are good if you're a liitle tween girl.

  • Check out their cover of She's so Heavy...it's amazing!

  • @Hypothermia333 But then again, you like snoop and lil wayne...:)

  • Omg the haircut made a huge difference i agree hes a hottie

  • Don't you think Reeve looks a liitle like Ryan Gosling ???

  • I agree with cha53z. The haircut made a major difference he is a hottie!!

  • THESE GUYS ARE GOOD!! Carney will make it in the music world!!

  • THESE GUYS ARE GOOD!! Carney will make it in the music world!!

  • he looked hotter on american idol. what a differece a hair cut could do for a guys hotness.

  • omg just saw the show and it's so fucking amazing!!!!! loved it.....reeve carney is unbelievable <3

  • I really wish this soundtrack would come out.

  • saw the how this weekend...show fell through the web!!! Not so good....and so much HYPE!!! Save your money all!!!

  • It makes me so sad seeing comments saying that this is a mess. I logged in for the first time in year just because I want to defend Carney. It's really sad that some people don't appreciate this style of music. You should look through their other songs, in my opinion, they are amazing. <3 I've been in love with there sound since I first heard their song "Love me Chase me" over a year ago. Please don't hate people, give them a chance.

  • YEAH THIS SPIDER WON'T GO--IT WILL BE A SHORT RUN

  • Danny Elfman should have been hired.

  • man, Reeve Carney is too sexy to be Spider-Man :) He's an amazing singer.

  • this band is a mess

  • @cerebralfish1 how? go listen to them playing on rolling stone. fucking amazing

  • This guy does not look like Peter Parker

  • This show seems like it COULD be amazing or just not good at all...it seems to have so much potential...if they could just stop hurting actors! And figure out how to keep the show UNDER three hours long

  • the show looks like ti would be awesome exceopt for the sings. a huge show with huge sets and huge stunts needs huge songs with huge voices and a huge orchestra.

  • 0:28 Is that Snape on guitar?

  • I just saw the show on wednesday and thought it was amazing!

  • oh this is just too much. Just because you're telling a story does not mean that you can discard any notion of a melody.....the song is over, and there is nothing but noise still in my head....

  • The track is really growing on me tbh

  • @Sparta2310 Have you heard Reeve sing in the band Carney?...Check out some of my other videos to see him...look for him on line as well...He covers She's so heavy and sings a song called Testify...it is pretty amazing!!!!

  • just saw the show... So BAD. the Music was such a desappointment... the book, so many holes... the coreography so basic... the result A MESS.

  • @guillentio agree that there are a lot of 'holes'...and the music needed to be so much 'bigger' to match the 'hugeness' of the sets...Let's see if they can take the publics opinions and 'spin out' some changes...but I actually really enjoyed myself...I'll def be going back to see the 'polished' version in Jan...:)

  • @Hoohaa61 nope it's january 30th and it's the same music as november

  • @guillentio theyre rewriting the script so maybe the holes will be filled.

  • @wadyano i saw the show again last week... with a new ending... Still a BIG MESS. The guy next to my seat fell asleep and two cuples left the theater during the second act... Is a really bad show.

  • @guillentio 1 month later, and your comment still holds true

  • wait is this not a spiderman broadway show? i dont get it

  • @OfficialBrettJustin it's one of the songs from the show...I'm excited to be seeing it on Sunday! :) I'll be sure to post my thought here after the show! :) I promise to tell the truth! LOL...:)

  • @Hoohaa61 i was there on sun... i didn't like it at all. such a mess (and i'm not talking about the technical issues)

  • @guillentio where were you sitting? :) I was in row P right side...

For some reason most of the 'action' is on the left side...so I would suggest sitting on the left next time...I'll be going back after the official opening...:)

  • @Hoohaa61 Row F center (next to Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick!!!!) I was again last week on Mezzanine... the flying action looks better from there... but the show still a mess. the new ending still not dramatic enough.

  • @OfficialBrettJustin there is a spiderman broadways show. this singer is the star and he's singing one of the songs from the show

  • Hmmm... I know it's too early to say for sure, but this really doesn't sound very good. I've heard the U2 people say before that they don't like musicals, which instantly tells me that they have no idea how the medium works. The songs are meant to progress the story. This just sounds like some kind of droning, incomprehensible rock song. If there's any story being told here, I sure couldn't hear it.

  • What was even the point of that song?

  • Apparently this thing's being pushed back to January, which is the worst time to open a Broadway musical. Box office takings are always low in January, not enough to justify a $60m production. Why? Because they haven't sorted out the dialogue, the stunts, the music and scene-to-scene transactions, even though they've had God knows how long to do so.

This thing is going to plummet like a boy from the sky. And I don't take joy in that at all.

  • Glad you don't take any joy in the prospect of failure! There is only ONE reason I give a hoot about any of this and it is Reeve and the band CARNEY...If it were anyone one but Reeve as Peter Parker...I wouldn't even know it was 'in production'...The only reason I posted this clip was because my buddies in CA wanted to see Reeve...and GMA was preempted other programming... BTW if Spidey doesn't work out...Carney fans will still win...because they will go back on tour or head to a studio! :)

  • @Hoohaa61 COOL!

  • Where is spiderman?!?!

  • I did't understand one word of that song. Carney, you are adorable but u need to enunciate. You can't be on Broadway if you cant. Even if it is a rock musical u still have to say your words right. American Idiot is wrong and i can understand every word they are saying. This song is also like one really long chorus. It's just the same over and over and over again. It's extremely boring. so WOLFENNYC, hope off my jock. You are just some crazed U2 fan who doesnt understand theatre. Learn your shit

  • Oh, and apparently Bono calls this "Ulysses for the modern day...a morality play."

...Why can't a musical, especially a superhero one, just be FUN? And not disappear up its own arse and try and teach us a lesson? I get that whole great power etc. angle, but does it really need to be the only distinctive feature in any Spider-Man related media?

  • hey Perezhilton...hahahahahah...you get free advertising on my channel...:)

  • I hope the producers realised they threw in $60m for a musical comprised of U2's leftovers. This song is just there. It's not good, it's not bad, it's just...nothing. Doesn't exactly inspire confidence when you're putting on a Broadway show, which demands you be dramatic in your music.

Oh, and "Boy Falls from the Sky" - really inspiring title for Spider-Man. He's not fucking Icarus, he's meant to be graceful while travelling New York. Not plummeting to his death.

  • Haha this is probably the worst song i have ever heard! i cant wait to see the 60 million dollars invested in this show go to waste! Broadway is definitely changing for the worse and this is just one fine example of what happens when a talented guy like reeve gets suckered into playing a role that he shouldn't be playing and screaming music that is too high for him, not to mention peter parker is supposed to be a nerd small and timid looking. I remember going out for the auditions for this show!

  • @TheLipSyncers sounds like you're a sore loser

  • Been following Carney since Reeve played on tour with my friend, Jonny Lang, a few years ago. I just knew he would make it big some day! Way to go, Reeve and the Band! You are awesome!

  • ummmm.......???

  • Sounds like every other Bono/U2 song.

  • I like the song...what I don't understand is why the guy who plays Spider-Man (a SUPER-hero) looks like a scrawny emo tard. Shouldn't Spider-Man have some bulk? Toby Maguire did...

  • @OIvey257 uhh no you're wrong they are going back to the true nature of the comics...in which Peter Parker was a scrawny nerd not a bulked up man...and I wouldn't exactly call Tobey Maguire a guy who had some "bulk"

  • This is funny. I mean the responses, they're funny. "The song is supposed to further the plot"? Wait for the plot before you judge what this song says about it. Trust me, you'll know the words by then.

Or maybe its just a case that it's too poetic? Better the old standard Musical song? "I am going over here to stay out of sight, 'cause there is a bad man about to decend from a cable to stage right! Oh Look! hark, I doth hear him come! Oh no, cable's broken and he's on his bum"

  • @WhoDoYouWant I'm very supportive of this production and VERY supportive of the young Reeve Carney, his brother and band members who are very gifted musician/songwriters.

I've left the comments both 'rude and tasteless'...for entertainment purposes only! ha! :)

  • Let's see U2 cover this!

  • God this looks awful. The costumes look so "Drag Queen".

  • Comment removed

  • A lot of comic book fans have been saying how "SPIDER-MAN IS DEAD!"

They've been saying it since Civil War #2 (which was awful and insulting) They've been saying it ever since Amazing Spider-man #545 (which was even more awful and insulting) in great numbers He's dead in spirit. He's dead as a character. He's unrecognizable because he's magic or some other garbage.

After seeing this I'm even more convinced that THEY ARE RIGHT!

Joe Quesada killed him and this is the eulogy perhaps.

  • @Cardboredbawx Is that a good thing or bad?

  • The crowd are just standing staring and as confused as we are.

  • can't understand a single word. except for "a boy falls from the sky"

  • Yeah!!!!

  • what is this bullshiste?

  • Jonathon Groff would be great in this role why did not choose someone with theatre knowledge and yes I can understand what he is saying but it is like translating Japanese into English which I can do btw.

  • i must be a retard or something why is spiderman in the title?

  • @thefoilerlives this is one of the songs for the upcoming debut of Spider-Man on Broadway...:)

  • @Cardboredbawx you live in a card 'bored' bawx...you'll be fine...just inhale...exhale...you'll be fine! x :)

  • @wolfennyc ok that made no sense. U2 is treating this show like a fucking concert. they expect this show to play 10,000 seat stadiums. their songs dont tell a story that furthers the plot. this show will be technically amazing. but the music will do NOTHING for a story. learn your shit before "insulting me"

  • @KeepItGayStageNazi you make no sense dipshit...no one ever said they expect this show to play 10,000 seat stadiums....I don't know where you got that from

and BTW ......10,000 seats is a small arena..not a stadium...you should learn your shit

  • @wolfennyc U2 themselves are saying they want this to play stadiums when or if it ever goes on tour.

i just made up 10,000. hop off my jock. u need to learn your shit. i bet u r just some U2 fan who knows nothing about theatre other than this. this is going to be incredibly mediocre compared to what else is already out there. fuck off wanker

  • @KeepItGayStageNazi you just pulled the # 10,000 and "stadiums" out your ass because you talk so much shit...you don't know what the fuck you're talking about...now you're pissed because I made you look like the asswipe that you are...that wasn't too hard to do..since youhappen to be a brain dead fuck...nice try but you lose, polesmoker

  • @wolfennyc ok you two...let's not take this all so serously! :) Can't we just all get along?...plesae keep the 'f' to a min...or I'll have to put you in time out! thanks! xo...

  • @Hoohaa61 Sorry kid, not my problem that this dude gets really defensive about a band. A band that hasnt been good since the early 90's

  • @wolfennyc i did pull the number 10,000 out of my ass, I'm not denying that one bit. I didn't pull the stadiums thing out of my ass though. I have been following this show ever since it was supposed to open LAST February. In interveiws since then, U2 AND producers have been saying they want this show to play stadiums when or if it ever goes on tour. Dont get all defensive when I insult a band. Im not insulting you, im insulting how fucking stupid U2 is. chill the fuck out kid.

  • It was so weird. I never watch this show, and I just happened to turn it on in time to see Bono and The Edge introducing these guys. I've been a fan of Carney for a while, and was pleased as punch when they were used on "The Machete" trailer.

The only problem I had with this performance is that the mixer seemed to lose Reeves vocals over the rest of the band towards the end of the song.

  • @Fracassi1 agreed they lost Reeve's vocals in the mix

and for the last time FYI....... PETER PARKER SINGS........NOT SPIDERMAN

Julie Taymor the director said they were NEVER,EVER going to have Spiderman sing,it was never considered....it would be corny and who could sing through a mask???

So idiots like Howard Stern and others who are going around spreading lies, pretending that Spiderman sings in this, when he never does should retract their false statements immediately

  • @wolfennyc When you're making a Spider-Man musical, people are going to assume the main character will be singing. People going to see this will assume he's singing. Also, can you message me the link that says Spider-Man won't be singing? Because I haven't read where Taymor states this.

I'm not saying you're wrong, I just want proof.

  • @DrJohannFaust I just sent you a link...just check out almost all the interviews she does....she says it frequently....

  • @DrJohannFaust you know what they say about people who assume, right?

youtube "Julie Taymor on Directing Spiderman Turn Off The Dark" the clip is over a year and a half old and Taymor specifically says Spiderman swings over the audience,he acts..but Spiderman does not sing....Peter Parker does

  • @wolfennyc No, I don't. You're assuming I know, making you one of those "people who assume".

This song is still crap. It's boring, the lyrics are pretentious and have nothing to do with Spider-Man (Icarus doesn't inspire hope), the guitar riff is identical to Thrill Me Kiss Me, so U2 are just recycling their old shit, and Carney isn't right for it. Listen to any Broadway cast recording and all singers enunciate the words. Carney's got this rockstar drawl; fine elsewhere, but not for Broadway.

  • I think U2 has jumped the shark with this one.

  • People said the same thing Achtung Baby.

  • love love love it

  • Why he can't he be in the next SpiderMan moive, he would be awesome.

  • i just want know how he is gonna sing with a mask on his face, lol.

  • @bladerj they covered that issue in one of the interviews! ha! he will only sing as 'Peter Parker'...:)

  • @bladerj you are a dumb fuck,he isn't ...they never were going to have him sing as Spiderman, just as Peter Parker

  • @wolfennyc ooooooooohh, big mean words, that makes you that smarter and right-er , go on, i see you grow as a great individual.

  • yawn

  • U2 have ripped off their own song: Batman Forever’s Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me, Kill Me for this at 0:50 and 1:55, it has a variation of the same guitar melody riff.

  • @burlearth better than ripping off of someone else

  • Spider man never sung in any comic I ever read.

  • @debeolaurus Spiderman doesn't sing in this you idiot,Peter Parker does...maybe you should do a little research before you put your foot in your mouth next time

  • This is nothing like Peter Parker, but in a way I think that's better. This musical will probably be more successful as a complete departure from canon.

  • holy fuck this is the song i've been waiting for them to release for 4 years

  • /watch?v=HhJw9CBZNhA

  • He is terrible no Tony for him!

  • Sounds a bit like the U2 stuff from Batman Forever.

Regardless... no one is crying out or a Spider-Man musical, it's all new story and all new songs, broadway fans and comic book fans aren't necessarily the same group, and it's looks pretty bad.

Sorry but I think it's gonna crash and burn.

  • Hoohaa - I found you. Thanks for taping this with your FB fan club people who didn't get to see this live. This is so much better than your JF videos.....you rock baby, luv ya...

  • @halfnewf13 This must be KF? hahahahah...:)

  • @Hoohaa61 Maybe....lol

  • Comment removed

  • who knew seth green played bass

  • The song is ok... I'm just not seeing how it's going to lend itself to a dramatic scene. Not yet at least. The bad guys costumes are gonna take a while to grow on me. I'll need to see them in action. The sets I'm impressed with.

It would be too easy to bash this... but I'm reminded that this is a theatrical production, not a movie So I'm keeping an open mind.

  • thanks for sharing!!!

  • Spider man musical ??? LMAO I'd rather have diarrea for the 3 days than listen to this shit... U2 has reached new levels of suckiness..

  • @eswolf84 look at you ..you're a fucking zero in the game of life ..having diarrhea for 3 days is about the best thing you can fucking accomplish in your pathetic sorry existence...btw learn how to spell you fucking moron...you criticize and you can't even spell...you are a fucking loser

  • hold the camera still or get a tv tuner card please :P

  • I'll like it the same way I like Batman & Robin. Not exactly high quality stuff but fun if you don't take it seriously or as canon.

  • Bet we loose the leads a month in, no way they can sing like that for 2 hours 8 times a week.

  • @ckerca I just came away from a gig tonight at Pianos...he was fantastic! He's a natural! I'm certain that they will take good care of his vocals...he's been in rehersals for ages and if there was a concern I'm sure they have dealt with it! But you did make a good point...he does have to stay in top form! :)

  • Well, now I know what generic sounds like.

  • i heard this song in the sessions of France in 2006 but played by Bono, and I loved it !

I would liked to hear it played by him now

  • Aren't you supposed to be able to hear the words in a broadway musical? You know, because the song is supposed to further the plot....

  • @tlcarpenter1 You read my mind!

  • @tlcarpenter1 yes you are it can be very hard understanding Chinese on stage

  • @tlcarpenter1 I have no idea what kind of plot is being furthered here, other than U2's.

  • Because when I think of Spider-Man, I think of whiny, derivative pop music.

Oh, and just to irk the fanboys: U2 sucks and you should feel bad for listening to them.

  • One of the worst songs I've ever heard.

Also, why is the lead singer wearing suspenders and tight pants? Does any one else see a problem with that?

  • You should all be ashamed of how fucking stupid you are.

  • This is going to be SO GOOD!!!!! Can't wait to see more, especially a song from the Goblin!

  • Wow, terrible AND derivative of Hold Me, Thrill Me... Where can I buy tickets? And by that I mean, SPIDER MAN MUSICAL??? I'd rather watch Rent! AND I HATE RENT!

  • Omg so strange to hear a great song but not to hear bono sing it :(

  • horrible.

  • it would be fuckin better to listen this good song in bono's voice and edge's guitar. i hope they release this one as a U2 song.

for the U2 fans, this is one of those beach clips of 2006

  • @JorgeFilipeTakeda i believe they plan on releasing an album consisting of the songs from the Spider-man musical. whether it's u2 playing or Carney's band playing I don't know.

  • Thanks for posting! Love Carney; but since I'm stuck in Arkansas the chances of me getting to see them on Broadway are slim haha.

  • THANK YOU HOOHAA61 FOR POSTING THIS FOR ME ON THE WEST COAST!

  • AMAZING!!!! I love that it still sounds like CARNEY! Could almost be one of their songs!

  • This is going to be GREAT! I hope it pisses the Man-Gina fan boys off to the Nth DEGREE! those lil baby whiners should go back to their mama's teet!. Anway, not only are Bono and The Ege in THE BEST ROCK GROUP EVER! They are going to have a Kick Arse Spidey Musical.; Got my tix already

  • @StBowieno ha!! mangina! too funny...when are you going? I'll be there 'pre-opening day'...:) 11/14! The next night I go see Mumford and Sons for the second time! :)

  • This is great, but I wish Bono & The Edge had written something a little more for Carney. This is way under the skill level for such a talented band.

  • oh please give it a rest....they wrote this music over 2 years ago before there was ever any specific band in mind to play the music...get over yourself with the "way under the skill level" bullshit....go listen to Yes or some other uber-progressive band

  • @wolfennyc

Yea I see what your saying they did write this stuff with no band in mind and I think it's really good stuff. monSTARxxx is just saying that Carney as a band can handle way more. They're not a progressive band. They play classic rock style stuff. Pretty cool if your into Beatles or Zepp.

  • @easleyrider They wrote this with U2 in mind back in 2006 for a U2 album, but they shelved it and then afterwards chose to use it here. I've only heard a low quality version of U2 playing it, but imo Bono sings it a lot better.

Would love to hear U2 play it. It's a decent song that could be even better with a better singer.

  • @wolfennyc The music is boring regardless of who they had in mind or if they had anyone in mind at all. Just because they're not an "uber progressive band" doesn't mean they aren't above the skill level of this music. I know for a fact that all the members are verytalented in more than just rock on their respected instruments. Infact, Zane Carney is one of the most music theory knowledgeable people I know. Don't be too butt hurt.

    Oh, and by the way, I do listen to prog. c;

  • @monSTARxxx and who are you again? right you're a nobody...so I'll take what you say with a grain of salt..every shitdick has a negative opinion these days

Amazing how the internet has allowed a bunch of opinionated nobodies to think they are somebody by criticizing something just to feel better about themselves..when I see a band that has gone 30+ years with no lineup changes, changing their sound, playing full stadiums around the world in a recession..I tend not to criticize what they do

  • @wolfennyc You do realize everything you're doing is directly hypocritical? You're not anyone either. You're using the internet to express your negative opinion of my opinion to feel better about yourself and the overrated band that you listen to. Don't try to pretend you're better than me or anybody else.

    The music is boring. Period.

  • @monSTARxxx You dumb fucking idiot, you don't get it what I'm saying is I don't argue with track records, which is what U2 has whether I like 'em or not.I hate the music of Kiss and Aerosmith, but I respect the fact that they have a long track record of putting out music people want to hear...so I won't go on their boards with negative opinions of their music,I just wont say anything at all...when Carney has a track record as long as U2 has, then you can talk, until then get lost Carney fan girl

  • @wolfennyc I'm sorry that I don't like bands just because they've been around for long. Honestly, most of the music listening audience doesn't like music for quality, they like it for "catchiness", so there are some bands that have longevity, but no substance. I'll take a talented new band over a mediocre band with a long track record any day. When it comes down to it, years don't make an album or song, talent does. Also, don't assume I blindly follow Carney as a "fan girl".

  • @wolfennyc Oh, and also, especially as a humanitarian, I have nothing against Bono or U2, but the point is that this music is boring.

  • @monSTARxxx who knows...they chose this song...for some reason...I'm sure there are other songs that might sound a bit 'less boring'...I will let you know...check back here after the 14th of November...I'll be at the opening show...well the 'pre-opening'...I promise to give a VERY honest review! :)

  • @Hoohaa61 Oh neat! I have family on the East coast and I visit them usually like every year or so, so I'm sure I'll get some sort of a chance to see the show, but let me know how it is before haha.

  • @Hoohaa61 but he sings oddly and really can you see he has no stage presence at all

  • @wolfennyc hey...my mom reads my channel posts...:) I'm 49 years old...(ha)..but I do love my mama...and I'll get an ear full!....I would like you to continue to post...but can you not use the f word? :) x PS...some very very great musicians (Nick Drake) did not have long careers...some cut their own careers short...others refused to 'conform'...duration has nothing to do with 'impact'...or talent...:)

  • Sounds pretty good to me. The show will rock.

  • why does everyone have to be so negative - i think it was pretty amazing....the sound quality was not great - so don't judge it on that - someone just made this a sa quick way to get it to their friends on the west coast....

  • @seahawksfan06 Have a blessed day...<3

  • i hear some hold me kiss me thrill me kill me... :)

  • @baldini75 Me, too! :)) But that's cool because "Hold me, thrill me" is a great rock song!

  • @baldini75 yeah is true in the riff

  • sound quality was rough...I used my iphone to capture this...so...perhaps a reason it is hard to understand every word...BUT...even as 'Carney'...he does tend to muffle a bit...it's just his thing...:)

  • Right. Peter Parker is a "science whiz." That's exactly how I picture a science whiz singing....like the member of a rock band.

  • @july1962 hahahaha. so true.

  • The music is sooo U2. Can't wait to see how this epic musical theatre endeavor comes together. It's supposed to be epic.

  • Heck yeah!

  • Ok then. Did anyone understand a single word he sang?

  • @alixr haha, i was about to ask the same thing.

  • @alixr Most of it. Might be easier when it's not someone pointing a camera at a TV set. It'll be right on the night. This guy is a major talent.
