I am a former Pitt student and previous photo editor of the Pitt News. In 1991, when the Pirates went into the playoffs, hundred of us spilled into the quad and Forbes Ave to celebrate. The police showed up and did NOTHING because we did nothing wrong. Here the protestors were fewer, did nothing wrong, and got gassed and shot with rubber bullets.  The police actions in this case are DISGUSTING! I'm ashamed of them!!!

In one video on youtube you see a group of protesters push a dumpster down the hill at a group of cops, someone could of gotten very hurt. What's more, none of these things were happening the night the police overreacted and shot the crowd with tear gas and rubber bullets. There is simply no excuse for this behavior.
