I remember the game (very young), and I was VERY upset with the ref. Puhl, who had a miserable game, apart from the decision to allow play to carry on so that Rekdal could score. He whistled every time Flo went for a ball in the air. He won most times, but the ref awarded free kick against him all too often. Luckily we won!

In this WC group, if we had scored one more goal in any game, or if one of the other teams have not scored on of their goals, we would have been through. So thight...

kondurperufour: Norway wasn't lucky to be in that championship. In those times Norway was ranked as 2nd on the Fifa Ranking. And that's because they advanced from a group where big nations like Netherland, England, Poland and Turkey also were participating.

Norway played great in those times, but they didn't have luck on their side when they needed it.

Mexico had a great chance at the end. I think the ball hit the bar and then bumped on a mexican head and went over the goal from one metre.
