  • Hope his rehab is going all right. This year he was the most NFL-ready back ND has had since Julius Jones. Incredibly fast and strong, with good moves.

  • Man he's fast, for a big guy.

  • this run sucked you idiot

  • @noahducklover52pens1 whatever you say hater

  • @noahducklover52pens1 absolutely terrible.

  • @noahducklover52pens1 Are you mentally fucked? Or just blind?

  • That run may have just landed Jonas a NFL contract... His blend of speed and power will be an asset at the next level. Notre Dames running game is the best it has been in quite some time with Gray and Wood doing the damn thing... He should be our go to guy from five yards in from here on out

  • he carried the ball 3 times that game. 3 carries 94 yards. share the love, charl...I mean brian.

  • @rudolph20

Blah blah blah. He's the back-up running back. Cierre Wood has been extremely dynamic and reliable all year. Fans will complain about anything. Really most ND fans that I've seen online don't deserve the great teams they're going to get going forward here. You really don't.

  • @cauchamar Is he really the 'back up' running back. Seems like a different package back more than a 'back up'. But I'll listen to you, random youtube video commenter.

  • @rudolph20 Wood is a more dynamic player and more suited to Kelly's offense. Not saying I don't like Jonas, I do think he should get a lot of carries but Wood should definitely be the featured back, Jonas should be used as a change of pace

  • @mboomer93

Jonas Gray - who has had a significant number of carries this year so far, with 63 - is averaging an incredible 8 yards per carry. This is a full 2 and a half yards per carry more than Cierre Wood. His longest run (seen above) is 20+ yards longer than Wood's longest run, and was far more dynamic. Gray looks like an NFL starting RB right now. Wood doesn't. There's a reason Jonas is taking carries away from him more and more. Not sure what games you're watching.

  • And I know I said the opposite earlier in the year - but it was true then, and isn't true now. Gray has emerged this season as one of, if not the, best RB in the NCAA.

  • @cauchamar they're both doing awesome this year, so I really don't feel like arguing about which one should be playing lol

  • Offense doesn't exclusively equal points. Defense can equal points, special teams can equal points. Offense can flip field position, run clock, keep the opponent's offense off the field etc.

  • @seascapepro23

How dense can you be? The purpose of the offense, the thing the offense is judged by, the thing the offense is out there to do, is score points. Flipping field position is a consolation prize. The other things are things an offense can do only after it's - scored a lot of points. And yes D and ST can also score points, which is why I said Offense = points, rather than Points = Offense. Please stop posting. Go read or something.

  • @cauchamar But not all of the points scored are directly by offense. Field position aided by an effective ENOUGH offense puts special teams in field goal range, or the ability to pin and opposing teams offense deep in their own territiory, limiting their playbook which reduces their effectiveness. Which is important when you have a top 25 scoring defense, and a defense that has typically stuffed the run well this season. Please, stop posting. Go read or something.

  • @70HeavyChevy

What are you even arguing here? What point are you even trying to make? There really isn't one. You're just trying to "win" some nebulous victory over a complete stranger online. And you're failing even at that. I'll go read a book since reading books is fun. But you, you need to log off, re-assess, and basically get a fucking life.

  • @cauchamar Let me break it down for your little pea-sized brain; there are things that the offense can do other than scoring that can affect the outcome of the game (moving the football to assist special teams, defense). You're talking about statistics. Statistics don't always tell the truth of a win or loss, except the final score. Here's some useful advice for you since you like to give so much useless advice out; take your nebulous comment and shove it up your ass, Dr Phil.

  • Watch the block by Floyd. He pushes the corner back 5+ yards at first contact. Awesome!

  • Good win, Irish! Jonas needed a run like that. After the fumble vs. USF, I was afraid his confidence would be in the toilet the rest of the year, after that run, he is back! Go Irish!!!

  • When the USF game unraveled following Gray's devastating fumble, I didn't think there was any chance he'd be able to make up for it, even if he had a regular role the rest of the year and got carries. Because that fumble more than any other play cost them the USF game. But this run goes a long, long way towards making up for it. For most of the game, this was the entire offense. Good job Jonas.

  • @cauchamar How was this the entire offense for most of the game? ND had 400 yards of offense.

  • @seascapepro23

    Offense = points.

  • Dude below me, you're an idiot.

  • High Stepping!!!!!!!

  • He needs more carries

  • notre dame hasn't had a rushing touchdown that long in a long time.

  • @NDandColtsMan Since 2000, to be exact. It was one of only a few plays worth remembering from this sh*tfest in the Ketchup Bowl.

  • High-stepping the whole way! I love it...
