  • 1st gatchaman: adv whole nine yards

2nd g force: kept violence action kept no 7 zark 7, voice acting not bad

  • Does anyone have an MP3 version of the theme song and ending music I could get a hold of ?

  • @loveslakers126 Funny you mention that, as Dean Andre, the composer of the show's music, mentioned that he'd be releasing the show's music, including the tracks heard in the pilots and otherwise never heard before, on Amazon and iTunes soon. Stay tuned.

  • @loveslakers126

I can send you the two songs.

    PM Me your email address.

  • Does anyone have a downloadable version of the theme song or the end music ?

  • MF Doom used the music from this clip on Special Herbs 9+0. Used to love this cartoon, I even had the colouring-in book - PROPS!

  • i remember watching that show when i was a kid cool

  • i luv this show

  • omg i miss this

  • This is actually the original correctly dubbed version. The original U.S. voices for the show included: Alan Young: 7-Zark 7; Keye Luke: Colonel Cronus; Ronnie Schell: Jason; Janet Waldo: Princess; Casey Kasem: Mark; Alan Dinehart: Chief Anderson

  • @brookelyn7714 No, it's not. That's "Battle of the Planets" (1978) with "7-Zark-7"; this is "G-Force" (1986), with different names and voice actors.

  • @SuperAdventures Funny how I called it G-Force back when I was a kid then... Yeah, I guess it WAS "Battle of the Planets", but even then I called it "G-Force." Weird.

  • @Vaekkrinhart It's understandable, considering the protagonist team was named "G-Force" in both incarnations, and BotP fans do often refer to it as "G-Force" unofficially.

  • @brookelyn7714 Keye Luke played the old man in both Gremlins movies.

  • @RichXbox360 Yes.

  • @brookelyn7714 Casey Casem was also Shaggy in Scooby Doo.

  • loved this

  • cool

  • 'G-force is alive and well, and we're on your trail' lol

  • This show had so many names the very first was Battle for the Planets (Gatchaman in Japan), Eagle Riders, then G Force and many others the names of the five members changed a lot too. G Force is the one I definitely remember.

  • MF DOOM... Dont Make him Catch a Seizure!

  • my gawd........when i saw the pheonix i got so excited i almost had a boner

  • You can hear the sample for King Geedorah: The Fine Print at 1:20

  • yea and the beatbox on the fine print i think is from BDPs Breath Control

  • man I loved this cartoon and Johnny quest, they were so raw. One of the only cartoons at the time that showed death scenes..lol. (Showing the badguys burn up in the Robots, and Race bannon was always killing somebody..lol)

  • still like botp intro more

  • bam,!!..i used ta lov this show when i was a kid!

  • I love the soundtrack - especially when the stegasaur is going down.

  • They could have at least kept the original names to give the Japanese some credit. Even the whole voice acting thing makes it seem like a cartoon when it's really an anime. Very deceiving!

  • ''i shall consult 'comp-u- tor!' '' haha

  • haha that cracked me up too, i remember this show from when i was a kid :D

  • awesome !!

  • In the American toned down version of this carton the Bad guy's name was Zoltar.

  • The other gu'y's name was Jason.

  • it's better than battle of the planets version, at least the storie is correct, there is no 7-zark-7 and peewee can talk.

  • awesome soundtrack. i remember watching this before 1986.

  • I remember this in the 70s!!!!!!! on a dc station what i had remembered was the G-force but it had the robot ?only one other person ever remember this i met him in 1982 in the 80s or 90s I never saw them then in the 70s it was not on long for sure I want a DVD box set

THANKS for the video Im showing my age

  • Hi there!

You've probably already got your questions answered by now, but I think I can clear some things up for you - and others who might be wondering the same things.

GATCHAMAN is the original Japanese Anime.

"Battle of the Planets" was the first Americanized version.

"G-Force" came after that, and retained more story than BOTP.

"Eagle Riders" was the last American installment of "Gatchaman" -- and arguable the worst! LOL!

More details in my reply to Jimbowski09. ;)

  • I remember this show as a kid....and the names are not the same??...I remember the big guy his name was tiny?...and the little one was keyop?.the girl was princess and one of the other guys mark?..does anyone else remember that or is it just me?

  • You're right...and the voices and plots seem to have changed even though they're using the same animations.

  • This is from a remake of the series using the same footage that tried to be truer to the original- but had much worse voice acting.

  • Yeah Jimbowski09 , In England those were theire names when I watched this series in the very late 70's early 80's

  • The show you recall is "Battle of the Planets," the first American incarnation of Japan's "Gatchaman."

This show is the "reboot" titled "G-Force: Guardians of Space."

Here's a name run-down ("Gatchaman" name first, followed by "BOTP," and then "G-Force"):

    Ken = Mark = Ace

    Joe = Jason = Dirk

Jun = Princess = Agatha ('Aggie')

    Jinpei = Keyop = PeeWee

    Ryu = Tiny = Hootie

"BOTP" names are my faves, but that's probably due to nostalgia! ;)

  • this truly sucks

  • LOVE THAT THEME.

  • At 1:20 Fine Print sample, yes i knew i was right !! thx to someone on the Gee sample vid for putting my mind at rest!

  • DOOM!

  • awesome!!!! gives me chills. ahead of its time for sure

  • this is a different voices one was who did shaggys voice on scooby doo n alan young did 7 zark 7

  • god i hate listening to the wrong dubbed versions of this.

  • And which is the "right" dubbed version? Please don't tell me its the one with that soccer mom-in-a-tin-can R2D2 rip-off, and with all of the violence cut out.

  • well no, but most american kids probably grew up with 7 zark 7. hard not to like your first anime experience eh? that being said, even as an american kid i also loved captain harlok and starblazers among others.

  • Any truth to the rumor this is becoming a live action film?If so,then they should cut out the stupid robot who introduces and closes the show.Just get to the action.

  • @quarqill Yes, that is according to wikipedia, there is a live-action movie called Gatchaman but for some reasons, it could not go to production because of budget constraints.

  • @SuperAdventures

Yeah, that robot was pretty lame, but I'd rather have no violence than the kind of crap violence they offer in this series. By that I mean a room full of guards firing automatic weapons at a lone target who apparently has time to pull out his boomerang toy and throw it at them after they started firing at him. And then there is the whole "tornado mode" and "firebird mode". I don't care how much the writers made, I'd be ashamed to be a part of making this tv show.

  • I too am also excited about the capcom games... i hope they make them on ps3 as well as the wii. the only reason im excited about it is because of gotchaman :)

  • Mega pwnage. I can't wait for TatsuCap to come out. Ken the Ea- I mean ACE GOODHEART FTW.

  • american translation, because my name is jason .. years ago. thank you hasbro

  • I have to say, I love the art of Ken and Jun during the credits.

It's interesting to see how the soon to be released Tatsunoko vs Capcom is bringing about a WAVE of nostalgia and interest in Tatsunoko's franchise...especially Gatchaman.

  • The artwork in the closing credits was done by Yoshitaka Amano of "Final Fantasy" fame I believe, during his long-time stint at Tatsunoko. I have a better quality version of the credits posted up as a separate video; you can find it on the sidebar to the right of this post. :)

And yes, I myself am enjoying the influx in interest on Tatsunoko's shows that's been brought about by TvC......I called it the moment the game was announced a year ago. :D

  • I heard there is suppose to be a live action version of this made.Any truth to the story?

  • Imagini studios is proposing to do a fully CGI movie adaptation. Its in the works as we speak.

  • This is better then BotP. When the Phoenix is stuck Ken goes "Ryu, try to get us out of here! (the Phoenix rattles some) well, that didnt work. Transform to firebird mode" saying that all so monotone and calm, drove me nuts.

Here there is a bit more emotion

  • i remember zoltar but the ones early he had different voices i remember so did the kids i believe voice was by one that do shaggy voice on scooby doo....

  • In the FIERY PHOENIX (HINOTORI), the Phoenix transmutes into a form of plasma-energy. This is very dangerous for the crew, but it works in emergencies!

  • So many innuendos!

  • zoltar is a girl

  • Well in the Original version Berg Katse is both a boy & girl.Sosai X the main villain merge a boy and girl fetus together causing Beg Katse to be a transgender and transfer to different schools every year till Berg Katse could control it.

  • computor? LOL!!!! I forgot how cheesy this was.

  • Fuck me, the fine print by King Geedorah, Mf Doom kicks ass

  • WTH!! NOT FIRBIRD MODE! Firey Phenix! Good lord!..Get it right!! This is like a bootleg version! (-.-)*

  • i totally forgot about this show and then saw the robot chicken send up of it and it all came flooding back...it was on too early in the afternoon to watch after school, but i remember it on those sick days...

  • thanks for that, i so remember that episode! Mandid that bring back memories!!! AWESOME!!!!

  • Man, there is my mispent youth right there!

  • Wow! Look up King Geedorah-The Fine Print. The song at one 1:20 is the same as the one in the King Geedorah song. Near the end as well.

  • lunch time well spent, great job... thanks for the upload... these dudes were so serious back in the day... lol

  • Can you add more ep?

  • As mvmone says the names were origionally different and it was called "The Fiery Phoenix" if my memory serves me correctly. My mother hated 'cos I run around the house like a chicken with its head cut off after watching an episode.....I love it!!!

  • What we remember as kids is the American dub of the Japanese Gatchaman series. After watching this, I scoured the internet for DVD copies of BotP and found The Ultimate Box Set. It's not a complete catalog, but it does have 12 episodes. I got it for ~$50US. My son and I watched the first one last night. I have to say, after all these years, it's lost a bit of its luster for me, and Casey Kasim's voicing of Mark is irritating. I keep expecting to hear the Top 100 countdown. My son enjoyed it.

  • Hmm. When I watched as a kid, their names were Jason, Mark, Tiny, Keop, and I forget the girl's name...Princess?

  • Too right my man I kept thinking that as I watched it.....good call. Also wasn't the villain also called Zoltar? or was that the planet he "hailed' from. Also do you remember it being as disjointed, you know, not smoother than it now appears? Bit like watching an early Simpsons episode.

  • Thanks for this. I used to watch it every Saturday morning when I was a kid, but it had a different dub back then. I was initially skeptical about Ace, Dirk, Agatha and the other two, but this version has two huge bonuses: people are actually dying, and no 7-Zark-7!

Why are English dubs so squeamish anyway?

  • I think this was from way before 1986. Thanks for putting it on youtube. I would buy it if it were available somewhere.

  • man this show speed racer all tgose were great when i waa growin up i use to run home just 2 c them i wish i could find da music cause its awesome!!

  • look up King Geedorah - The Fine Print, someone told me the song @ 1:20 on this vid is the same

  • Dude! I was just about to mention that.

  • lol. "we must consult...COMPUTOR."

this had some kick ass music. used to really make u run around the house pretending to be part of the adventure.

  • one of the best cartoons better.

  • Not. sorry... I think

  • Love any verson of Gatchaman or BotP.....but EagleRiders sucked. What I really hate about this is the fact the voices are off track. Always wanted to have my very own Phoenix.

  • I used to love this stuff, I mean totally obsessed when I was a young tacker.

Its still cool, but they are wearing bird suits FFS! The girl has a duck on her head.

  • i had forgotten the animation was THIS bad!! hehehe

  • I loved this show when I was 10-12 years old awesome to see it again!!!

  • G-Force this was one of my favorite cartoons, I loved when they would go into FireBird mode and when they would do the pyramid.

  • It was the Transformers

  • I wanted to go to bed every night and dream about being on G-Force!!!!

  • the track at 1:20 is one of the hardest tracks you'll ever hear. I go nuts when I hear it...

  • dude for real!! haha

  • this is a total ripoff of the original version

  • @Harlem1989 No this is a dubbed & edited version of the original.

  • At least they got rid of that annoying robot

  • Does anyone remember a cartoon that came out a little after this about a paramilitary force with a Chevy Camero with gull-wing doors that opened so the car could fly and the guys son had a robot named Be-bop? I can't remember the name of that cartoon. My kid brother used to love it back then.

  • It was the Transformers

  • I remember the original Battle of the Planets back in the mid to late 70's. I used to watch it before school. i don't know WHERE all this later 80's crap came from. The ship used to be called The Fiery Pheonix when it transformed. And the phrase used when the kids would transform was "transMUTE!"

  • You Got It!!!

  • OMFG?!what cand of cartoon or whatever is this?!

  • This is a revamp of the original 80's version, I believe the company SABAN took ovet the rights to the show and changed voices, character names and generally make it crap from the original, whoever changed this show should be shot..

  • Go read the Wikipedia articles on "Battle of the Planets" and "G-Force: Guardians of Space" and it should further make sense for you and everyone else who's confused/angered about the changes from one Gatchaman translation to the other.

  • Whoever decided that the whole show needed this repetitive crap music needed to be shot.

I admit that BOTP was a much better production. Now if we could only combine this with the censorship of later versions...

  • wtf.. is this a remix/remake of gatchaman?

    the names are all wrong..

plus the original series is WAY older than the 80's..

  • Please everyone, refer to the damn video description when having questions about Gatchaman and BotP!

  • What is the name of the spirit character on the monitor?

  • sosai x

  • G-force is what i knew this as when i was a kid growing up ,the only other version of this apart from the japanese original Gatchaman i know of was last year on our local tv station here in Jamaica where they called it Eagle Riders and changed the name of the chrcters,i was pissed bcuz i felt they were messing with G-force and Gatchaman

  • who the hell is hooty? and fire bird mod WTF its all jack up not the real G force

  • I hate when they dont have the real names wtf!!!!

  • > who the hell is hooty? and fire bird mod

    > WTF its all jack up not the real G force

G-Force and Battle of the Planets are hacked up versions of Gatchaman. Both were aired at the same time, which made it a bit confusing.

    Gatchaman was incredibly violent.

G-Force had 7-Zark-7 in it, I don't miss that part..

  • Saban always succeeds in making japanese anime masterpieces. Into a pile of edited crap.

  • Saban had nothing to do with "G-Force: Guardians of Space". Turner Broadcasting (w/ the help of Fred Ladd, who translated early animes such as "Astro Boy" and "Gigantor" to English in the 1960's) produced "G-Force" (1986). Sandy Frank Entertainment "produced "Battle of the Planets" (1978), while Saban produced "Eagle Riders" (1996) which was cobbled up from the two sequels to Gatchaman (1972); Gatchaman II (1978) and Gatchaman Fighter (1979)

  • Why do people blame Nick Saban for everything?

  • This brings back memories. Wooo...

  • I Heard you. so many memories

  • this anime rocks! XD
