Hey do you get a lot of popping and cracking on decel? I've got the same setup and mine pops and cracks like a mofo on decel. I think I might have a little exhaust leak somewhere. Thanks man

Coming from RR-bikes, Im now looking for my first Harley. I just love the Cross Bones, but as I live in Norway, I'd have to pay about 45 large ones for it, and I ain got that hehe..

So now Im really considering a Forty Eight which is around 30 up here. Seeing yours with the apehangers kind of makes it ok that I can't afford the Cross Bones, your sportser is starting to look real good.

Now I would like to see a badass brown springer seat on that bastard...;) Keep posting...

Cleaning up the front end looks sik. Are you gonna do a tank lift next and relocate your coil? I have a 1990 sporty with a custom tank on it and did the lift. It gives your bike a nice new line. With the peanut tank and apes on yours it will look sweet. What ever you do don't spend $50.00 bucks or so on a lift kit. Just go to a hrdware store, spend $4 bucks on a "L" brace for building decks or whatever. Cut it in half and round out the edges. it has 4 perfect mounting holes spaced 2" apart.

@GoodnightTechnology My older bike has this big ol fat style coil. I know the one on yours is alot smaller. I used the original bracket and flipped it so the wire inputs would face down. Then I drilled 2 holes in the center engine mount to hold it there. Plus I had to xnay the dumb horn and move my ignition switch next to the coil. I made a small bracket for that too. Not to hard. I know you could figure it out. Chk on YouT alot 1200s nightys and such are doing it.

I have been watching your videos and I must say that you are doing a great job with the bike. I think that generic looking seat should be the next thing to go, but hey, that's just my opinion.

Now for a question as I am not that familiar with the late model sporties. Is the oil tank a horseshoe style with the battery located within? I believe an old-school style round oil tank would look great!

@DiscoStewed no i dont think its the same anymore. the oil tank is on the right side ( you can see it has a chrome cap ) then the other side is access to battery and other wires etc
