Yeah, for the price i recommend it to anybody who wants to start/try playing 7's, it would be a great investment ha, i love it. It is kinda heavy and thick but THATS WHAT YOU GET! A little skinnier than a bass i would say, but its doable.

If you have pretty thick strings, you can tune it the same way just sacrificing it the high e string, so it'd be BEADGB.

But that low B is often too low for standard set ups, its going to be wayyy too loose.

Before i bought the 7 strings i would use Guitar Pro (i recommend it) and transpose all instruments to standard tuning and play against that as the backing track.
