Ben Leffler is a fucking genius. The Exmortis games, Purgatorium, and especially Goliath Soothsayer are all amazing. Try playing Goliath Soothsayer late at night with the lights off and the volume up. I did, and couldn't go downstairs at nighttime for two weeks.
If it were all 3 games made into a movie, I'd pay for it. But for one online game that lasts about 15 minutes (if that) ... I wouldn't pay. It may look as great (if not better) than the first two, but it's easy to like a free game, whereas it's more difficult to like things that are expensive. Sorry if that sounds a bit sour, but that's just the way I think of it.
I have the feeling that Exmortis 4 is actually going to be released. The main ending (where Mr Hannay climbs the rock) leaves many possibilities. If you get all 34 achievements, it'll say:

Oddly enough, I kinda feel sorry for Lord Vlaew at the end *SPOILERS* if you choose to destroy him once and for all. The music in the background is one thing, and the way he says, "Do what you came here to do, human. Release me from this world forevermore." Just a bit of a sad tone he says it in.

I think this was pretty much a kick into the face for long-time Exmortis fans who waited three years for this. The free demo has only one chapter, and I have no way of purchasing the full version. The only chapter I played was kickass, though.
If you play through exmortis 1 you learn that only an ancient (Vlaew is an ancient) can kill another ancient, but in beginning of exmortis 3 it says that you have archaic powers, prehaps you can beta him with them? I don't know only played the demo D:

The most likely reason some people are pissed off is because in an early interview with Talking About Games back in March, he said the feature-limited version (demo) would be like the previous entries, and when it only had one chapter, it started.

Shut the fuck up already. He's just going by what he read (and so are other people).
The most likely reason some people are pissed off is because in an early interview with Talking About Games back in March, he said the feature-limited version (demo) would be like the previous entries, and when it only had one chapter, it started.

dont have the money right now but as soon as i do i'm buying it. and this game is the BEST horror game online! The Exmortis Trilogy. And hopefully Exmortis 4, i thought this was the last one, but i guess after reading on blogspot it may or may not be. if there is an Exmortis 4 that would rock. havent played 3 yet, but looking forward to it. and i'm waiting till midnight

Get the sniper rifle at the apartment. First go to room 23, use telekenisis to break the window, use the fireplace poker w/ rope to ascent down the window, and in the halway that leads to the staircase with a dead guy blocking the door, there is a rifle lying there!

Ok friend... I've remained silent intent on not getting into a verbal over this but I cannot remain quiet any longer. I have made it abundantly clear over the last year that there will be a free version and a full version of the game. I don't know where you get your information from about me apparently saying I promised it would be a free game, but you couldn't be any further away from the mark on that "fact"... Your argument is therefore moot.

I don't see the issue here.
Ben worked really hard on this over a long period of time, it's only logical that he gets something out of it.
If you can't shell out a few bucks, go play the free version and stop whining.
He made it clear from the beginning that this is how it would be done.
How about you try churning out code and artwork for years, and not get paid for it.

If I was to be in bens shoe's I would be good on my word and stick with it no mater how long the game took me to finnish it!.
Now I will agree to pay cash for an online game but somethin created by a Flash file program no fucken way sorry but I rather spend my $15.00 on a 30 day EverQuest prepaid card to keep up on my EQ subscription.

omg, i am a huge fan, i have waited forever for the 3rd installment, but for a flash game i am not paying the same amount as i do for almost brand new console games, for less than this cost i got fatal frame, devil may cry and the suffering all in one deal from a store. I am amazed by the work leffer has put into it. But alot of his fans cant afford to fork over the money for a flash game. also, once you buy it, you can only download it 10 times, meaning that if your download kept on breaking or you need to reinstall it for any reasons. You can only do it for limited times
