This must of been such a life long fantasy for Ian to live out. I like Ian and I think he is talented, But there is only one Jim and The Doors without Jim is like The Stones without Mick. WHAT'S THE POINT?
Jim lead the way, the rest of the band followed. The Doors would not have been a great band without Jim and Jim would not have been such an icon without the Doors.
Plus thats bullshit about the doors being not just jim. They had NO direction at all with out him, just listen to the two albums they did straight after he died.. 'other voices' & 'full circle' that says it all. Theres a song called 'down on the farm' which the other doors wanted on LA woman! Jim disagreed 'cus its a pile of shit!
The doors were a band not just the backing music to Jim Morrison. Without Kreiger and Manzareck there would no "light my fire" whihc was the song that got them bookings and subsequently a record deal. Also Jim started going off the rails pretty quickly and without the rest of the band driving the music forward you wouldn't have "morrsion hotel" or "L.A woman".
You obviously dont know shit...Their just going through the motions and ian's even got the audacity to repeat some of jims on stage improvisations , which is fucked. You said "ian's voice is distinctly different' but he's just imitating jim's sound and trying his best to look like him, it's so weak and cringe worthy.
yeah, itl be awesome. i went to their gig in manchester a few years ago. it was great but this time its in a smaller venue with better accoustics which is even better:))

Damn right. It is true that they weren't the same w/o Jim. But they also would've been equally shattered had Manzarek or Krieger left.
