My guinea pig suddenly died, the other day. im so heartbroken, he was the cutest little most beautiful teddy guineapig with blue eyes, and a white head. he was so cuddly, and i loved him as he loved me, he was 3 years old, and he suddenly died, after laying on not being able to say anything or move, he got cramps and i took him up and he died in my arms. he looked as beautiful dead as alive. and i love him always. @hinwer That's a myth. There are plenty of pigs out there with red eyes that can see just fine. There's little if any relation between having red eyes and blindness. This myth probably comes from that the offspring of a pink-eyed, white-fur pig has a high chance of being lethal (meaning blind, etc. if they survive at all). In general the Guinea pig eyesight is not that great, it's designed for avoiding predators. They have a very wide field of view but have problems resolving detail.

I think you might have scared your guinea pig. When I got mine, I was eager to handle him, but I feed him treats and petted him before I tried to pick him up. Also, some guinea pigs are very shy, so display alot of affection before trying to pick him or her up again
I got a guinea pig yesterday (saturday) and left her for 24hrs like some websites said. Then today (sunday) I try to handle her and she runs and when I hold her she shakes and she wont eat and she sits in her bedding area still and silent not even moving.
She's still getting used to you. Guinea pigs are usually very quiet when they're with a new person. Just give her some time, be reassuring and gentle, cuddle with her, and I'm sure she'll be fine.
have u took him/her to a vet? mayb they can see what's wrong with it. try to play with it cuz it might b scared since u just got it yesterday. i know this cuz my friend has one and it did the same thing(:
