  • I can understand the military's concern with the large holes or any kind of body jewelry, when you're doing a lot of physical activity like in basic training or when your fighting, the holes or jewelry could get caught on something and injure the soldier.

  • guages can stretch back if you dont go 2 big...

  • Bollocks.

  • who gives to shit about the military? im happy we have one but i personally do not feel remorse for "our soldiers" because they go by their own free will. its ur choice to make if u wanna get shot dead in the face, but its not to get a piercing, smoke in a park, or get getting fined for sitting on top of a park bench? people that kiss the governements ass deserve what they get no matter how hard or how many times they kiss that ass, which is death sooner or later

  • @Fuckdisworld93 i thought the same thing

  • AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA WHAT AN IDIOT

  • i say fck the military !! i would choose to look like i want too, over any bullshit job

  • This is very rare, I think. My friend was at 2 inches, and closed it back up to a 10 for work.. If you stretch your ears I find it strange they don't go back, I mean wtf, is this girl not human?

  • it was always my understanding that those would close back up after a while. Not fast enough maybe?

  • this is absolute bull. I wanted a military career and they turned me down because of my stretched ears and visible tattoos, but im not sorry i got them they closed a door but im happy with what i am and the way i luck.theirs plenty of other career opportunities out thyere.

  • I can understand not being able to enroll in our country's services if you have giant ear piercings like that because the could get stuck on something. But tattoos and piercings as long as they are taken out... should be allowed. If someone wants to serve America and die for it, the shouldnt be judge on appearances.

  • She still shouldn't qualify to serve our country, simply because she is still a dumb ass.

  • @sparky7718 whats wrong with you dumd people are sometimes the best for some jobs:)

  • thank you

  • It's not called gauges, gauges are a a way of measuring your ears.

it's like saying " i'm inching my ears".

    the news people are idiots

  • @steelfacezombie Thats exactly what i say to everyone who comes up to me and says "i like your guages" im like they're plugs. lol

  • my friend josh has gauges and spider bites and tattoos but he was in the army...

  • Im so fucking tired of hearing piercings and tattoos are "unprofessional". Its a crock of shit. This is just something made up by people who arent accepting of things that may be different. When it comes to doing my job, Im way more professional than half the people I work with that dont have mods.

  • i would sooooo much rather look the way i want than conform to standards set by the military. im perfectly capable of getting an education without the military.

  • "If you want to get serious about your life don't do it" I'm extremely serious about my life, and i have stretched ears and tattoos and i make about $100,000 a year and i'm 20 years old. I don't regret it, and im not paying any consequences. i'm happy with my body mods, so it is worth it and i love the way i look.

  • they're not called gauges. they're called plugs (or tunnels or tapers ect.)

  • wait a second . . . i can understand that they wouldn't want her to wear the actual jewelry . . . but she can't just have "empty" lobes (stretched but without the plugs)??

    That is ridiculous.

  • My husband got hell for have a whopping TWO tattoos. Ha. Yay army. I mean for Gods sake he has an angel wing on his back and kanji for eternity on his arm...ooooh thats sooo bad lol.

  • i understand the reason why they don't want piercings in the military. but tattoos i don't get. I know and have seen army, navy, military, air force guys with full sleeves of tattoos.

  • Its not the fact about what you look like with the plugs. They mean because of everything your around in the army something might infect or cause something to happen to you. and weither skins grown around it or not there is still a risk they dont wanna take.

  • Can't you be serious about your life and still have modifications? Just all depends on where you wanna go and what you wanna do in life

  • obviously she had problems with it because she stretched to an INCH but up to a zero or double zero you're fine and it'll go back! I WISH PEOPLE UNDERSTOOD THAT. i don't mind when people having differing opinions, i just hate when they don't know what they're talking about.

  • BOO! Stop bringing PC into the BM World!

Call your holes whatev u wanna call em!!

    P.Out::::::

    K.

  • Idk maybe they just didbt like the ear lookin like that because i know lots of ppl in the marines and army with tatts.

  • Being a teenage boy myself, i think she looks pretty nice in the "old" picture. she got a few pounds...

  • But , I Love my piercings !

  • The military has a perfectly good reason for their rules maybe if you guys stopped assuming and acually found out the truth then you wouldnt sound so stupid.

  • When you become an adult, some people grow out of their piercing as I have. I am in the Air Force and that is more important to me then having piercings. It's fine if you keep yours, but some people choose to move up in life. I used to have stretched earlobes and 14 piercings.

  • @theDaciano- agreed! 'gauge' is a unit of measurement. 'earlobe stretching' is the action of well, stretching the earlobes. haha

  • these kinda people piss me off. saying think about getting a piercing and it being childish. sounds to me the girl was just trying to ''fit'' in. its stupid how the military wont allow diabetic people or anyone with piercings, joining the military your just gonna die in a worse way, and you WONT BE HAPPY. im gonna be happy wih my life. :D

  • i really hate it when pepole use that if you want to be serious or grown up or it is childdish to get piercings. dame main stream for making piercings so popular and just another fade that some little girl can go get pierced then decide o i want to take them out because i want to be serious.

  • Also, I think the military knows that those of us with alternative looks tend to think for ourselves. They can't have that ;) An efficient killer shouldn't ever have a mind of their own LOL.

  • I'm a radio news anchor and reporter. I've interviewed world leaders, politicians, and candidates. I also have 6 gauge(with tunnels you can see through), 10 gauge and 2 14 gauge holes in each lobe, an industrial in the left and a blood red overlay on my natural black hair. Her attitude is simply wrong. Many people in the city where I work wouldn't know it was me if I did the whole corporate thing--but they also wouldn't expect that. My work speaks for itself.

  • The military wants everyone to be the same at basic training no designer clothes or trendy glasses not to mention looking presentable in a uniform and for the ones doing the booing like you need any more holes in your heads. But i guess it does make your head look better from where your mom dropped you on the floor when you where born

  • booo stop being a pussy!!

i have 11 piercings and i wouldnt take them out fer shit

and 5/8 gauges ive put to much effort and money into

    fuck your "real" career

imma do whatever the fuck i please

  • my piercer can close them up at his parlor. o.O

but he has chirurgical training and diploma.

  • I have piercings all over my face ect and loads in my ears, i used to work for a very good company and they never said anythin, whats going to happen if she done get her dream, is she going to stretch her ears again?

  • Booooooo.

    A REAL Career.......

Calm down. There's many "real" careers out there that you can have body piercings/modifications... what a load.

I understand her changing her mind for HER real career.. but generalising like that is BS.

  • Being a tattoo artist, or a piercer, or anything of that sort is just as much of a real job and just as serious as being in the military or airforce. Tattoos and piercings shouldn't stop you from working with the public or being in the military, that is un-believable.

  • this girl is dumb for many reasons, mostly, for saying that you can't have piercings and be serious in life, followed by joining the air force and being a poseur

  • Well, the reason why they don't want you to have tattoos/piercings in the U.S. military, is because they don't want to have to pay for your bill. If every young airmen had their ears stretched, and didn't take care of them, they'd have to give free plastic surgery to every single on of them. Same with tattoos, as they can get infected. But, honestly I don't see the point for them not letting them in. It's dumb.

  • Yeah..my dream-job would be...a piercer who you look however the fuck you want to plus i LOVE body mods. sad thing she wanted to take her awesome stretchings out..:[

  • lol she said if you want a "real" career dont do it fuck this shit people with piercings are discriminated against its kinda sad

  • poor bitch, she lost herself to the world now shes just a plastic fake whore to Soceitys every Demand. FUCk that id never take any of my piercings out for anyone even for a million dollers!!!

  • nicely said :]

    i love my piercings tooo

  • Its sad that the army will not take you for things like tattoos and piercings, if you willing to take a bullet for your nation then you can look like what ever the hell you want.

  • @BigDer19 personally, i want facial piercings too, and i also want to join the army, but i guess, we''re supposed to look united and uniformed. when we stand in line in our uniforms, one of us shouldnt stand there with saggy earlobes and lip piercings. they would think, where did the unity and the look of the team go?

  • @BigDer19 They probably don't want tattoos and piercings partly because of how unprofessional it looks. As far as Piercings,i think there's more to it then just being unprofessional. I think the piercings can be used against you in close combat.

The same way your hair could be ripped right from your scalp, they shave your head in the military. The piercings follow the same principal. They could be ripped off right from your face.

  • @BigDer19 I think it really has more to do with stretched piercings, because those are visible even when you take the jewelry out. It could also be a safety hazard in combat, so its not purely cosmetic. I love body mods, but I can see where they are coming from.

  • @BigDer19

Not true I have 9 tattoos and I'm in the Navy and my hubby is in the Army with12 Tattoos, they recommend that the tattoos don't represent any gangs and because after the military people want jobs they don't recommend tattooing your whole sleeve because even a civilian going on an interview faces being turned down covered up in tattoos. Also when you do come in yeah they have restrictions but once your in you can do whatever afterwards.

  • @BigDer19 No. No. No. The army has standards. If you're willing to take a bullet for nation, you should be willing to look respectable while doing it. I hate this "Anything Goes" mentality! It's spreading too far!

  • fuck yuor program you do nt have an article about thundfercats youy should hang your selkf from as tlkelophune pole i believe you are in lrage with al quida i belivewv you ae fun d iran nuclaetr power

  • learn to spell.

  • I bet once her ears heal, they'll look gnarlier than they were stretched. I've looked at healed ears that were reconstructed and they don't usually turn out the way they used to be.

  • DOUBLE fail :):):) joining the army AND removing your piercings LOL

  • We live today in a Stupid World. It aint because someone got earplugs that he's an idiot. Everything is about appearance, but often, the most abnormal people are the greatest ones, not the ones that looks like the rest of the world...

  • Good thing about being a piercer. You can look however you want to.

  • want to avoid the draft? just gauge your ears hhahahahaha, well at least im safe from the army, or air force or whatever, i got 00's

  • exactly when is this draft starting up.

  • There's something seriously wrong with this world if people can't keep their personal forms of expression.

  • "if you want a real career?" My uncle does peircings and tattoos and he is just loading the cash in right now.....hes been doing it for atleast 17 years....and he says its the best career he could ever have!

  • starting at 14 ain't a goot idea with any piercings.

and I agree you make a choice for your future and before you start you should check out "rules" for piercings and tattoos for the jobs u might want

  • i think its bull that she cant be in the military with stretched earlobes. there is absolutely no reason for this except for the fact that the guy in charge of everything doesnt like them

  • "...if u want a real career....", "...if u wanna be serious about your life...".....ooooh FUCK THAT.... its just personal style, who says people with piercings cant be professional or serious.....CBS sucks balls

  • legend. id like you to try get your point across to my skool.

  • amen to that

  • if your thinking of sizing your ear lobes,

just know, that 5/8ths is almost a deadline to your ear growing back to something of what was normal.

anything over that, you will go into your cartladge and then it wont grow back, and the bigger the size, the longer it takes.

  • oh BAH this stuff makes me sick

piercings say absolutely nothing about a person, i hate that just because you have more than 1 earring it makes you unprofessional

i have 23 piercings and i can get any job done faster and more thorough than anyone else i work with

i think the world needs to stop being so superficial, you should not determine someones ability to do a job by a tiny piece of metal

    grow up X__X

  • Thank you, i agree 100%

and to have a place like mcdoanlds or burger king NOT HIRE YOU cause its UN SNITARY?

the only way its POSSIBLY unsanitary is if i don't shower, and thats its OWN problem right there. i ahve 16mm ears ... thats 5/8ths of an inch. and i;m getting bitched at by Burger king.. LOL

and my snake bites, :/ like i don't get why we can't put metal in our face. :/

  • Metal is too brutal for McDonalds. Brutal.

  • i was learning how do tattoos and peircings a while back and i agree that she really should have looked into her dream career before she got her ears sized like that. she got hers too big but there is a smaller size that you can go to then if you decide to take it out your ear will go back itself.

  • well that's her problem for being an idiot....if it was her dream since she was so young then she should have thought twice before sticking the tapers in ears...to make them the size they had become.

  • i got 3/4...planning to get to 1 inch...

  • normal ear pierce, fine, but dnt put those big massive stupid wholes in ur ears, what swrong with nice small studs?

  • maybe thats not what our picture of beauty is

  • yes gauges i would say are dumb if you want to go professional in something, but normal piercings i dont think should be any problem just take them out for work and do techniques to hide them.

  • Some people think body modification is stupid. I feel the same way about joining the Military.

  • Thanks for showing that there are such things as different opinions.

  • @ame9903 Body-modding and joining the military, 2 things I would never do.

  • lol the idiot said "gauges"

    it's stretching

  • That's bull, if people judge you for how you look, they aren't good enough to be looking at you. If you don't get the job because of something as trivial as a hole in your ear, you don't want to work there, or with people like that.

  • i have 1 inch holes and i love..but id be pissed if i got told i didnt get the job cause of my hole..thats like saying well ty you would of got the job but there just one tiny problem your black

  • no actually. its not ANYTHING like that. if you have 1 inch gauges its not about discrimination. its presentation. lets say you are a realtor and you have a couple searching for their new house. im sure they are not going to stay with you because you look unprofessional. :]

  • i disagree just cause i look unprofessional dosent mean i em...and to not higher some one cause of looks is totaly discriminating..

  • it does not matter what you think. ever heard of first impressions? if i brought home a guy with tons of piercings my parents would not approve. its not discriminating. its just peoples impressions of you. and yes you do LOOK UNPROFESSIONAL when you have gaping holes in your ears. its a presentation thing. same as having to wear a uniform when you go into work.

  • looks are trivial and unimpoortant, people who think they are important in certain areas are just as pathetic and ignorant as the people who think only women should work in the kitchen.

  • hmmmm not quite. if i see a guy dressed in all red with dotted eyebrows im walking my happy ass the other way. in the real world when you actually get a job because you need the money, your not gonna care about having to take your piercings out. if i went to work dressed in a slutty tee shirt that exposed my cleavage how do you think my boss would feel? i would surely be fired.

  • actually I do work, i have a full time job as an office assistant at a phone company, I have a very corporate job and am currently in school for a business degree, I have my eye brow pierced, my ears pierced 3 times each, my lip pierced and my bridge, My boss hired me on the spot and I've been working for 3 years, real people understand that personality and intelligence is all that matters.

  • It's true, you do look unprofessional.... That's why you buy spacers if they are currently healing, if they are done healing then you could just take them out before you go to work, but gauging your piercings are something you have to consider

  • Fuck the military. I wouldn't take my gauges out for anyone.

  • Stupid twat. Join the military so you can get even bigger holes blown in you serving the fascist federal gov't.

  • Fuck inspiration.

  • I don't see a problem with gauges in the military, it's most likely tradition, but it's a retarded tradition. I do have my ears gauged but even before i got them i thought theidea of being judged for having them was retarded. Who is anyone else to judge us?

  • Coz there is a strong chance you could get them caught is something. Ripped out, and damaged. A Soldier on the field with an injury is a liability, end off.

  • People should not be judged by their ear lobes. Will there be any career left to go into after they've trashed the economy? She now has two less places to hold a couple of spare rounds! Why should young folks have to go into the military to get a career education?

  • They don't have to, it's just some people can't afford it on their own, and they can get it free if they join the military for so many years. lol, I've actually had a friend that tried to convince me to join the Army, but I don't have the emotional strength to. XD

  • I understand you don't have to join to get an education, but the system seems to be skewed to entice poor folks into the military by dangling the carrot of free education. I've studied and both my careers went off shore.

  • The super rich folks play a global game of chess with poor folks as the pawns.

  • Obviously it works. I wouldn't do it. But I guess, for some people, it's a perk in the job....risk your life for the country, I guess it's the least they could do, give a free education...

  • Wow you mean to get a real job you can't look like trash! Who would have thought?

  • More choices... Cool! I guess.

  • The military is retarded.

  • i agree

  • GAUGING=STUPID TREND

    Ps Fuck war

  • nice

  • That's retarded, fuck the military.

  • agreed

  • i agree with you.. the military is overrated and is only necessary when being attacked.

i do think guages (or however they're spelled) look really stupid on people, BUT i believe for the military to deny someone for this is also stupid... stupidity goes both ways...

and it's also idiotic for her to have surgery like this just for one job out of countless better ones....

  • The military has sound reasoning behind a lot of regs that might sound dumb to people in civilian life. (They also do have a lot of actual dumb regs though)

A pair of gauged ears with inch wide holes would be a nightmare waiting to happen when crawling through undergrowth, wire fences, general battlefield stuff.

  • Women [to my knowledge] don't have combat positions in the military though, so what does it matter?

  • it doesnt matter what you are in the army, you have to look professional and having to holes in your ears isnt best for that.

  • 80 years ago, the fact she is wearing pants would bar her from most jobs. Styles change, and the army is interested more in conformity and obediance than in what does and doesn't look professional. I find stretched ear lobes a bit too extreme for my taste, but nothing about two extra holes in your ears affects your ability to be a soldier. God knows she's at risk for much bigger holes in her future.

  • I dont think her ears will look so well after that surgery :P I'd rather have holes then huge scars

  • ok, thanks for this video.

i was considering tapering my ears but if it hodls me back from getting a job, nvm!

  • Wow, I will never get a piercing again!

    Not.

  • lol.

  • hahahaha

  • xD I know, don't you love how the media tries to scare you into doing what they think is right?
