Not bad, Annette is very good at singing. No, she is not Tarja, but Tarja is on her own now, and that, I think is for the best, and I also believe she is much happier this way. Tarja was not the only member of Nightwish, and most certainly not the most important one either, Tuomas proved that without a doubt. No, Nightwish will never be the same without Tarja, but they are still a great band.

Why do people say that Anette is so horrible when singing the old songs? Sure, she might not be what Tarja was, but seriously! She does the old songs really well. I would like to see some of these fans to sing the older songs and sound as good as Tarja.

Lots of people had an emotional attachment to Tarja and aren't the types who are open to change. That or they simply prefer the operatic style.

I agree that Anette is fantastic, even on older songs. And Dark Passion Play is my favorite Nightwish album. Listening to dark passion play, I can't picture Tarja's voice sounding good on any of the songs other than Poet And The Pendulum. The band is moving in a new direction and Anette is the better singer for the new sound.

Annette performed better when I heard her perform this in Cleveland, OH in Oct of 2007. She also did Sleeping Sun, and it wasn't bad for being radically different; she's definitely improving her live performance. I think it's pretty bold that they'd still perform the old songs.
