  • The reason why it only utilizes one core is because of how terribly the game was optimized. If Crysis was optimized correctly, computers back in 2007 SHOULD HAVE been able to max the game out at 1080p with at least 60fps like most correctly optimized games today. Even computers nowadays with the highest end hardware still struggle at Crysis at those settings trying to obtain a solid 60fps. This game is just terrible. Terrible gameplay as well. I'd rather play Minecraft and that's a great game.

  • this game shits me it bottlenecks every CPU that isn't running around 4.5ghz and it only uses around 3 cores if that if it used all cores it would run smooth as butter

  • where can i download that cpu utilization tool?

  • i play crysis on intel core 2 quad Q8300 and hd5770 on max settings with mster config 3.01 with 35-38 fps

  • @mekel8090 Yeah not really though, both the music and the vid and biebers suck.

  • i have:

    Intel Core 2 Quad CPU Q8300 2.50GHz

    Nvidia GeForce GTS 250 1GB

    4GB of RAM

    Windows 7 64-bit

and it works awesome on the highest settings

  • just ran the cpu benchmark on my phenom 9850, cpu usage never exceeds 50%. Its weird, can anyone here use four cores?

  • @Prashanth12344 yea i have a intel quad core 2,6 ghz cpu usage max was 60% with each core

  • @Prashanth12344 , you always use all cores. For every thing you do, even a single process will thread through each core making it so much faster, thats the whole point of having a multi core cpu.

  • @bigduey69 Well that's not true at all. If something isn't programmed for multi core use, it won't use it. GTR2, you can run that game on whichever core you want, but you can only pick one, it can't utilise both at the same time. Another example is convertxtodvd, while it is programmed for multi, it's not getting everything out of the cpu. Because you could run 2 convertxtodvd windows at the same time and it'll max out your cpu. Whereas just 1 will use about 75% of 2 cores

  • Crysis depends on the GPU more.

  • @andyli916 Agreed. Everyone used to think this game was real heavy on the CPU, but many benchmarks have confirmed that it's mainly about the GPU. I'm not saying the game doesn't run better on a quad though

  • its programming. cores are assigned tasks

  • so it only uses 1 core then ???

  • i have an intel core 2 quad q9200 mobile resolution 1440x900 4gb 00mhz ram and it runs really good but on high settings not that good coz i have shit graphics card intel gma 4500mhd

  • Fuck, bro. Just got an AMD Phenom Quad. It doesn't have a fuckin' PCI-E slot for my 8800GT or any other good gfx card for that matter. Sad shit.

  • your a retard troll

  • If crysis had multicore rendering it would play @ 39 fps maxed out on a 8800GT !

  • @vancar6 The thing with Crysis and FPS, is that it uses TV technology which makes it run fully smoothe at 24FPS. My 5870 does run at 30FPS

    1920x1200

    All enthusiast

    4xAA

So it really ain't no problem. An 8800GT would do like 9FPS with that, but cut the AA and it'll be like 19, almost perfectly smooth.

  • thats really weird.

  • well i hope the crysis 2 will be different story

  • crysis FAIL

  • only one core? no wonder alot of ppl get lag

  • fuck the music

  • it only uses once core?

  • its one core u dumb fuck not once core learn to speak

  • haha it gets annoying doesnt it?

  • @chaz9123

hw do u knw hw he spks?

learn to write would b a better suggestion. 'tard

  • wow i used 1 "u" at least i didnt tlk lke dis lke mst pps i knw

  • What`s the song name??

  • WoW..... quad core 3.0.... how much??!?!

  • Maybe because mac pros are overrated and over priced pieces of shit?

  • I can tell you with Crysis Warhead, which should be even more optimized, using my Q9550 in the first map, Gamer settings (equal to High) the game uses only about 30% for all cores.

  • mine uses 2 cores... both at only 50% but i think its because crysis utilizes the gpu more than the cpu, the physics card has a lot to do with it

  • uhh....i play it on a macbook pro with everything maxed out with only 2 cores and it runs wayyy higher than 30 frames per second...i'll even put up a video if you want. mac kills PC. then again i have 8 gigs of ram....but i think vista only uses 4 of the 8 anyway cause i only have 32 bit

  • 1. please upload that video, and dont forget to capture what settings u use b4 u start playing please:D

    2. we dont have the same opinion about mac vs pc, since im a pc fanboy:)

    3. actually vista 32bit can only use about 3-3.5gb of RAM:)

  • mmhm! i'll have footage when i review it for my review show. It's one of the games i'm doing next. And you are correct, it uses only 4 gigs of my 8 gigs of ram, but 32-bit home edition is all i have =[ Yeah it would play a bit faster with 64-bit ultimate but for what it is, it's fine.

  • and what do you play exept of sims?!

  • like it says in my comment, Crysis. I usually play on high cause it is a little bit faster but it does run more than fine on very high and it's definitely playable. Only problem is it sucks on 32-bit vista and it crashes sometimes cause the damn OS gets confused about my ram and it'll tell me i'm running out of ram when i have like 5 gigs doing nothing

  • I have a macbook pro and can not run the game on even low. you have a 9600gt, there is no way in hell your maxing it.

  • whatever buddy. i'll have a video soon proving you quite wrong. if you can't run it look on some forums for assistance because it should work fine

  • Heya cody8005

If the game wasn't designed with Mac (comparability) in mind, no wonder it'll be complete havoc if you try and play it. The 9600gt in the MacBooks are meant for the Image Manipulation Programs and Media Displaying, not for gaming.

    -LTP

  • I want to see that video. PLEASE. Seems to good to be true. Mobility radeon x1600 and Geforce 8600 dosn't run this that well i believe. But if it does i want proof.

  • I am using 4 cores with video ripping. about 30 frame per sec. About 80% of total processor is being used and no core is unused.

  • thats weird

  • thats funny i did the same test and saw it useing all 4 cores ?

  • whats your specs was it windowed, high or low resolution

  • q6600@3.2 xfx780i 4gigs ocz @ 1200mhz 2x 9800gtx in sli 7300gt just to run my 2nd monitor while in sli corseaire 1000watt psu 2x wd blue 500gb 1 wd blue 260gb theramltake liquid cooling kit antec 1200 o/s vista 64bit sp2 fullscreen on a 42 inc rez 1280 by 720 all game options maxxd apart from no aa i monitord all my cores been used on the 2nd monitor to have crysis running all 4 cores u must lunch the game in 64bit crysis was desing to run with quad core
  • if one core needs too work harder the other core's come in action

  • It's natural for everyone to assume quad-core means splitting things in 4 equally. In fact this is not true. It's extremely difficult to program any application and handle specific sub-routines in each core. But if you managed to do so, it wouldn't be so efficient as you guys may think. It's kinda like our brain, speech center will never be processed in our visual cortex.

  • what is the name of the band and the name of the song?

  • sevendust

  • lol

  • intel core2quad is realy quad core inside/it realy can execute two high rendering game!!!!

  • you're dumb. :)

  • yeah it could handle four high rendering games really idk lol

  • Just need my Quad-Core CPU and 9600GT 1gb ddr3 video-card

until my pc is complete!! Can't wait :D

  • it only uses one core.

  • wth... does crisis use 4 cores... i thougt it uses only 2

  • how much would it cost me if i ask shop to overclock my processor...what do u think? 50 bucks or somethin?

  • Learn a little about it and do it yourself. Stupid to pay for it.

  • o,o im just nervous that i might screw it up XD

  • wat card r u using

  • he uses 8800 GTX

  • if you do dual screens you can put that crysis on a higher resolution and really test it instead of putting it on like 800x600

  • Your processor isn't a quad core processor... You can clearly see "Core 2 Quad" in the video. Core 2 Quad is in reference to a Multi-Chip Module.

  • sevendust,,, f*** yeah man

  • pls I need some info does dual core or Quad Core run on my agp mother board. I`l sub to you

  • What CPU soket do you have? I had a agp motherboard that suported 2core and 4core cpus. PM me! I might help you... Sry 4 my eng.

  • It was using some of all the cores. It didn't need to use all of them fully so it used only two.

  • Hi, I recently bought a quad core. Upgraded from Pentium D and I think my Rig is only using 2 cores. What should I do?

  • How do you know its only using 2?

  • man you processor use all cores...

I think he cant use only 2 cores...

  • you have to go into bios, and enable the other 2 cores.

  • Crysis isn't a cpu eater. So it doesn't take much of a cpu to run. Crysis is the gpu eater. As with GTA IV, That would be a cpu eater.

  • Are you guys really fighting about spelling? O_O

  • It use 2 Core, Not 4 Core.

  • GTA IV uses the quad cores the most, core duo is shit on it.

  • the grapic card is so good taking up all the procc from CPU, if you use 7 series nvidia then you will see all cores are being used. dont be fool by this video!

  • hey whats the song? i like it :P

  • Ehm about DX10.1

You people are such idiots........ DX10.1 is REALEASED ALREADY HALF OF YEAR.

ITS NOT DOWNLOADABLE and its also supporting only ATI RADEON HD4000 cards +

And GOOGLE "DirectX 10.1" meybe you will learn somthing new...

    Morons

  • hey moron... dx10.1 is also supported in the 3800 cards, gg tho you almost sounded intelegent

  • You mispelled intelligent.

  • typo creates epic fail

  • Nice, Crysis is running on 1 core, =D

  • its not about the core! its about the grapic card on that pc u dick! just run 7 series nvida then u will c all 4 cores are wanking like a horse!

  • please don't talk if you can't type clear

  • Lol I bet you don't even have a job, we can't understand what your saying with all those grammar errors, you stupid nigger.

  • suck my dick then, i am sure you undrestand this and if you dont tell your mama she will.

  • Lol you talk like a nigger, sound like a nigger, people like you make niggers look bad, gtfo.

  • What a fucking retard, go learn english you dumbfuck.

  • its not about english, its about khowldge that you dont have.

  • Its their instead of there.

  • My quad cores used 4 cores stressed more than 50% during Far Cry 2 and Crysis so i think your computer is really fucked up!

  • I want a Cpu that will last for a maximum of time!

I don't know what to choose between a E8400 or a Q6600.Its for gaming!Everybody said the dual is better but you always have something running in the back when you play (Antivirus).

They have the same price:If i choose the Q6600 i think i'll push it to 3.2ghz,The E8400 to 3.6 or 3.8 (big max)

Its for christmas,i'm still note decided.

  • I don't know what everyone else is talking about. Mainly because DX10 or any DX has nothing to do with the engine of a games performance. DX is all about the visuals. Also most games only support truly up to two cores. So that is why it doesn't use all four cores. Its the same on my 3GHz Q6600. For both warhead and the first Crysis. Hopefully games will start to support up to four cores because then games will be twice what they are now in performance.

  • i dont know what the fuck u are talking about ive got a Q6600 @ 3ghz and all four cores are in use for more than 50% during Crysis and Farcry 2...for example...Ive Windows Vista Ultimate 64 bit 4 GIG

  • Same for me I have the Q6600 with 4gigs ram and a 9800gtx+ and it uses all four cores for me. So either you guys have suck ass computers or something is up. I am also running 64bit vista

  • so it will run crysis with a quad core?

  • Hi I have a 2.4 quad core and just have downloaded crysis demo on high its just crap 512mb nvidia geforece 9500gs 3GB RAM. wy is it crap on high settings???:(

  • because Crysis sucks asses! Dont matter on what system you play it on.

It acts like a game on alpha-stage.

  • lol shadows or shaders, killers.

OC your card with ATiTool and that'll give a boost.

  • because of your graphics card and the fact that your cpu is STOCK!!!!. oc and you will be godly.

  • How do you do the overclock?

  • you have to enter the bios and if you have an aftermarket/custom non-dell/hp motherboard, it should allow you to change all of the hardware settings. and overclocking is simply telling your motherboard to run your hardware faster. (giving it more gas to say)

  • Cool thanks will try that I have a diego mothrtboard , I hope it will not damage my pc? LOL

  • it will burn the whole house down!

  • On my PC Crysis and Crysis Warhead uses 2 cores and sometimes the third kicks in but just for a few seconds :|

  • what song? ehh good video jeje 5/5 XD

    LOL

  • @ this uploader:

Your computer is stuck, on my Vista 64 bit all four cores are in use for more than 55 % during Crysis gameplay.

  • i got 8.8ghz quad, dx80 and overclocked it to 88ghz.. believe it or not?:p

  • lie

  • Iam using the same uitilization gadget on Windows ultimate 64bit...but my cores all do their job when iam playing Crysis ...with also a 4850 GPU ....non-oc! and non oc CPU!

    Strange!

  • Quad CPU's optimise the A.I. engine in this game..in this vid i see no enemies..so.... you can make your conclusion! ;)

  • where can i get that cpu widget?

  • It looks as though it primarily uses one core and only slightly uses the other 3 either way it still uses 4 cores. I will eventually post a video of Crysis running on my quad core system: Q6600, 4gb ddr2 800mhx, 9800gtx 512mb, P5N-E SLI,750w P/S

  • also why is it the best gamers our run quad and get the best scores possible today?

anyway nice vid dude you can see the quad cicking in there lol

  • well ime getting the q9550 next week and i know that cpu insideout and quad is future proof yes more isnot always better but its for multi tasking and games like crysis take advantage of all core buy sending physics etc to specific cores thats why one core is used a hell of allot more.

but if you eddited a map or made your own and stacked 6000 oil barrels ontop of each other you will tell the difference.

  • HAAAAHAAAA

Yeah. Don't get a quad core kids. You think a quad core is better but then you realize you don't know shit about computer hardware.

Get the fucking dual core for christsakes.

E8400/E8500 is the best you can do right now if you're a gamer, no bullshit

  • unless ur a total geek and know how to edit the game and get all cores used

but your right dualcore is still the best

  • yeah but what if u wanna be future proof? all u can do is just stop crysis by using all fours and make it use 2 but make sure its on the same die!! u bag of douche

  • dude trying to be future proof s stupid

every 5 years or so everyone needs a better pc becouse the game industry goes too fast

and if you have pplayed the games maxed out for 3 years will you go back to med/low?

o and why is it better to buy 1x3000 every 5 years then 3x1000 every 2/3 years?

  • Bullshit...a Quad6600 is clocked over 3,6GHZ easily and besides that u get 2 cores extra for free! So why take a E8400 or 8500 which are alot more expensive than a Q6600?

  • i prefer the 45nm dye shrink. less power and better overclocking. you can pull 4ghz on a e8400. i have done myself. but then i have used both e8400 and q9550. both great chips.

  • well, overclock to 5ghz is one thing...

    DX11 multithreading, however, is not.

Im glad i got 3.6ghz quad 200$, dx11 knows how to use it well.

  • On what planet do u live?

    Directx 11 doesnt excist idiot!

  • your right. not yet. They already released their, er, promises tho. DX11 will be multithreaded, like i said. DX10 was single threaded.

  • What the fuck are you talking about? DirectX has nothing to do with single or multithreading! The engine of the game has to do with that! Directx is for the visuals. Dx11doesnt excist and there are loads of Dx10 games which using multithreading. U really dont know what you are talking about! Topgunwanker

  • Go back to school idiot! DX10 single threaded?? U must be drunk or a stoner...oh ive seen just your profile: u are a 16 year old NOOB! STFU if u dont know what u r talking about! Go fuck (directx10) dolphins!

  • What have they released?? Dirext 10.1 isnt even released, so what the fuck are you talking about?

  • your a noob right?

Dx10.1 whas released a long time ago..And microsoft are working on dx 11 now.OH and btw dolberambus-GO to hell you noob...Theres only 3 computers in the world with 8.8ghz.And btw dx 80 wont be out for another good 200 years...

  • Plse gimme the link where i can download Directx 10.1 ...LOL you are stoned!

  • its suposed to be included with vista

  • OMG!! Dirext 10 is included with Vista...not 10.1 u fucking brainless wanker!

  • i knew . you idiot. i was talking about dx 10

  • 10.1 is included with Vista Service Pack 1.

  • No fucking fuck! It isnt!

  • install Vista SP1 hit start button, type in "dxdiag" and run it..what do u see? DirectX 10.0

    OWNED FUCKER!

  • Says 10.1..

There's steps to get it...Google is your best friend.

  • 10.01 in SP1? Newsflash: that is a fucking HOAX idiot!

Hit startbutton ---> dxdiag ---- and find out that still 10.0 is on SP1 and that so called 10.1 activate Hack is fucking bullshit!

  • Agreem this Topgun fucker is an idiot!

  • WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH YOU?? Are you so fuck-brained that the idea of talking about a service that comes out 2009-10 is so novel that you have to rant about it for five FUCKIING COMMENTS?? CHILL THE FUCK OUT YOU CUNT! Why don't you spend some the equal amount of time accepting darwinism and just die. READ:

"Both AMD and Nvidia have built better multithreading support into their respective graphics drivers, but the majority of DirectX is still single threaded." -ExtremeTech

  • Listen noob: Directx is for features, and above of all: Directx 11 doesnt excist. Who gave you birth? A donkey?

  • if you read the exact same ExtremeTech article, you would see that it went to overview DX11.

Personally, i am astonished at the level of intellect being displayed by the people on this page.

    DX9 - December 2002

    DX10 - November 2006

DX11 - (don't you see about what date it will come...)

DX11 videocards are being released middle of next year, though i doubt it will be until the end.

end of discussion. NO MORE. RESEARCH SOMETHING BEFORE YOU CLAIM IT'S TRUE.

  • What about DX10.1 u freaking FOOL??

  • DX9 2002

    DX9b 2004

    DX10 2006

    DX10.1 2009

    Dx11 2011

  • OMG ur sucha fkin moron...I sed microsoft is working on dx11....And i so think you live on mars...

  • OMG ur sucha brainless suicide kid! U sed "DX10.1 was released A LONG TIME ago".

So i keep on asking..GIMME the link where i can download DX10.1 U FUCKING PLANET MARS CITIZEN!

  • He FUCKHEAD, u cant still show a link where to download DX10.1....why? Because you are

    O W N E D!

  • OMfg your the biggest fucking moron i have seen!I sed dx10.1 wont be able to be downloaded untill windows 7 or dx 11 comes out!Learn to fuckin read! And pay more atention to what i say!*sigh* Go to fuck of

  • U sed "DX10.1 was released A LONG TIME ago".

(see for proof page 2, idot!)

But now u dont even know what u said by yourself... do u know where's your own head is? LOL...stop disgracing yourself bro. Stop your humiliation! So shut the fuck off!

  • Loved the e8400. but at the same time i love my current q9550. plus you can always use core affinity through task manager, or a seperate program. pass all your other processing to 1 core. and let three cores dedicate themselves to your game. and if the games threaded for 2 cores, just dedicate two. thats what i like about quads. but i know where your coming from. the e8400/500 are awsome

  • i got the same problem :(

  • i get so excited from watching this .....cant wait till i get my pay from summer working im gonna buy a computer with quad core either 2.5 ghz or 2.66 ghz :P

  • U MUST HAVE A DEFFECTIVE CHIP!!, or its that intel is lying..

  • VGA ?

  • googled it and came up with nothing

  • where can i find the cpu tool?

  • control + alt + delete press same time take out the + sign.

  • crysis im pissed. The "best looking" game cant even 40% my q6600 at 3.6ghz at full physics etc.

  • what kind of graphic card are you using in this video?

  • 8800gtx

It says in the video when he zooms in, if you weren't paying attention.

  • oh ok

  • its not SUPPOSED to use 4 cores... 8-)

  • You will see a large performance increase on multi-core processors, especially regarding the worst case frame rates during intense action sequences allowing the player to experience a more stable frame rate through out the whole game. A quad core system should provide the best gaming platform for Crysis.

  • yes, of course.. my quad kills everything you throw at it today =P CryEngine 2 suck ass though. the Unreal engine is the most amazing engine ive ever played on, check it out if you havnt, its the best ever. and farcry 2 uses the mindblowing, new to this world, Dunia engine =D

  • Cant wait for Farcry2...September isnt?

    I hope u overclocked your Q6600 to 3,2 GHZ

  • no overclocking yet... will do with the new motherboard thoug. (check my channel for info)

  • Did u used Patch 1.1 for Crysis also? it support Quad cores better!

  • yes, all the patches.

the game was made for 2 cores... sucky as hell.. well, doesnt bother me at all. my cores dont sweat at Crysis load even on 2 cores. The other cores are great then as i usually watch a movie on my other screen at the same time as i play the game... no performance decrease.. HD movies aswell. an awesome CPU. Imagine... =P HD 1080p movie on one screen, and 20cm on the right, is an lcd monitor with the best looking game out today, floating as butter. Man i love my cpu.

  • Though**
