I'm glad you second it was Huntz Hall reenactment in the Ed Wood movie that ruined Bela Lugouis's performance on TV. Others swear to me on the computer it was Red Skeleton.
I miss watching the bowery boys. Classic, I hope the tv producers they will bring back there series. I would stay up until 1am to watch there program. Miss u boys.
Watching the "Bowery Boys" series lately on Turner Classics, it is very obvious that Leo himself was the featured attraction. His timing, his expressions and of course his smooth delivery of malapropisms were excellent (in fact, he seemed to be given more dialogue than the other guys). Huntz Hall, was lots of fun, very zany, but the could have kept him reigned in a bit. I love that series--those guys worked so hard to entertain! Thanks for posting this.
I'm 67, and still into the Bowery Boys! I liked the Dead End Kids, But it's the Bowery Boys, and Louies Sweetshop I like the best

@ziggycat999 That guy in Ed Wood always reminded me of Charlie Callas, but if you say Huntz, I believe you...

Catch the movie ED WOOD starring Johnny Depp. Bobby Slayton's impersonation of Huntz Hall as Slim Slimopowitz, seeker of adventure is priceless.

Choosing himself as the worst actor was the best way to answer the question. Leo was a class act.

I've been watching them on Turner Classic's, too. Leo Gorcey and Huntz Hall are the reason I watch. H.H. is simply crazy! :)

Leo was just being himself-not really acting. But I think he played an 'everyman' type quite well:) He was actually my favorite:)

C'mon, they all sucked as actors. We just loved them. Well, maybe Dell did have some acting chops.
