Kisses for you!!! first time hearing both these songs.! My new fave song!Thank you, friend. Being Born 1968 im gratful tohim.I adore Al Jolson. My hubby and I sing our four year old to sleep with his strains! ha ha ha She will also keep his work and memory alive. respectfully.
@kellielovesroger Thank you so much ! How wonderful it is when I can really touch someone's life and their family with something from my collection. Yes, his songs and his legacy will endure, for yet another generation of appreciative listeners. You made my day .
first of all, thank you so much for knowing so much about these fabulous machines and recordings, and for sharing them. and secondly, for taking the time to put in the lyrics. greatly appreciated. i am now resurrecting the theme on an old orpheum banjo. i want tunes like this to live forever.
Wonderful! Thanks for uploading this original disc ... Having played this song many times (from tape, CD etc.) I always wanted to know what Jolson's remark was at the very end ... It has eluded me: However, it is much clearer from your record that he probably said "Play it" ... 5*****
Thanks, yes once in awhile you get lucky and find these original 98 year old records in remarkable condition. This is one of them, and a famous one as it was Victor's first Jolson release with "That Haunting Melody" on the A side of the record. If you haven't heard it as yet be sure and visit my Jolson version of "Where did Robinson Crusoe go with Friday on night", also in fabulous condition.
