Skeksis could have killed him because he knew too much. Much more about the Skeksis than her, and even before the split, that the UrSkeks weren't to be trusted.

my favorite is the ritual master ! the way he plunged that knife in her back was awesome!! i wasnt scared but awestruck of this masterpiece of puppetry,animatronics and hard work. some of the deleted scenes should have been kept. my only grudge is that weird language and no subtitles?

@VegaRocksTheRoses Amen to that! This is one of the earliest viewing experiences I can remember as a child, and it haunted me for years after. The emperor's death scene was especially creepy.  Years and years later when I saw this movie again, it is easy to see why it scared the piss out of me. I must have been only about 4 or 5 at the time.
