  • Thanks, Dr. Pan. Good work! Hope you were just joking about irrational numbers being 'illogical' numbers. The name for rational numbers comes from the word 'ratio' and has nothing to do with being 'reasonable.' Rational numbers are numbers that can be written as ratios (p/q | p, q are integers, but q is not zero), and irrational numbers are those numbers that cannot be simplified in the form of a ratio (p/q).
