Texas has no legal right to stop you from carrying a fire arm.If they do not then the state is in violation of your 2CD amendment right,So is Tx a different country with is own law out side of the United states
I'm all for Open Carry but he isn't on his private property on the first of the video. He is in street right-of-way which is public property. Most property lines start around the back of the sidewalk. Nit picking?? Yeah kinda but it's true and some sleezy lawyer could use it against us. Word to the wise: Be sure you are in fact on your own private property. I'll be so glad when we finally do get open carry here in Texas!!!!
Open carry would actually make concealed carry easier as well. Concealed carriers would not need to worry as much about accidental 'brandishing' because the wind blowing their shirt or the weapon printing on their clothes when they bend over to pick something up.
I should call my representative to encourage the passage of this bill. I figure the more law abiding citizens that are armed, the safer I am.
The gun nuts have a chip on there shoulders, that's all. They want to start a confrontation over weapon ownership. Thery're not content to own a gun, they must flaunt it until someone objects to their threatening behavior, so they can claim their "rights" are being violated. Childish.
@luvdomus Your completely wrong!!!!! Its not that we want to flaunt anything do you think the criminal is gonna have his gun concealed when he attacks your family i think not wouldnt you want to have your firearm easier to access so that you can protect your loved ones and yourself??? I carry a gun because i cant carry a cop and they are never close enough when seconds count!!!!! If you can legally purchase a firearm I believe then it is your right to carry that firearm any way you feelnecessary
@luvdomus their rights are being violated. The constitution doesnt say right to own a weapon, but to keep and bear arms. The government is forbidding people their right to bear their arms.
@canisdormit The constitution does not provide for an indiividual to carry any type of weapons whatsoever-- legal restrictions can and are placed on the arms people may carry because that is the only safe and resonable way to deal with gun nuts like you. we are never going to see an "absolutist" interpretation of the 2nd Amendment.
@luvdomus. Legal restrictions of constitutional rights are forbidden. However, people like you pervert the constitution and its the mindset of people like you that will see Americans turned into slaves. You disgust me and your idea of truncating the constitution spits in the face of everyone who has ever sacrificed or died for this country. Shame on you.
@canisdormit QUOTE:"Legal restrictions of constitutional rights are forbidden."
What a load. Can you carry weapons such as grenades, missles, bazookas? Atom bombs? Of course there are lreasonable restrictions on "constitutional" rights-- nothing is absolute. The constitution is not a suicide pact.
All these people afraid of me because I am carrying a firearm should also realize that I am afraid of them out there driving their cars. Should I try to limit their freedom to do that? Their mistakes are far more frequent and deadly and I am at a much higher risk of them killing me with their automobiles that I am of someone shooting me.
i don't support...PEOPLE, we've gotta get past this....doesn't make me comfortable, blacks, gays, gun owners, you have the soevereign right to be free unless you mess with someone else's rights, PERIOD
I would love for Texas to be open carry state why u might ask well cause I carry a glock 17 it's kinda hard to conceal it but I make every effort to do it but it's kinda hard to when the weather is like a hundred and ten degrees in the summer I can't wear a Jacket so there is my reason why I hope it passes
we need open carry in texas , just for simple fact i would NOT want to go jail for accidentally exposing my gun if my shirt blew up or I PRINTED on a windy day walking across a parking lot
I still carry my gun in ALASKA there legal to carry openly also I carry a AR-15 rifle in my truck it is holder in front seat it's local next to steer wheel if I need it I able reach it to stop crime
I can't wait for open carry in Texas. It is true that those of us that want opencarry probably spend more time training than LEO. In the past 2 months I have put about 3,000 rounds through my .40 at the range.
Whether you approve of the action or not, the right shouldnt be infringed. It is a right that has been forgotten about and allowed to be regulated. We cannot allow our right to do something (no matter what that something is)to be taken away from us. If we do, where would it stop? I fully support open carry in all states allowing that a basic safety class were taken that would not expire for the life time of the individual. Very similar to the laws here in Texas for hunting.
I live in Kentucky which allows open carry. There may have been a couple in western KY which I have seen some but thought they were either plain cloths police or off duty cops. Now that I think about it they may have been open carry. I have a CCDW but have not really thought about open carry. I just really do not want to attract too much attention.
I live in Texas also. We can already carry a shotgun or rifle in plain view, why not a handgun? Maybe if we started carrying our AR-15s & AK-47s around then they would not be so scared of a little handgun.
i would supprt this... im from texas and i think it would work... think prevention.. is a criminal can see that im protected then he'll have 2 think twice before trying anything
It's interesting they demand a license to carry a firearm, when it is a right to do so.
It would be like demanding a permit to speak or pay a poll tax to vote. If that is unconstitutional, why is it acceptable for government to force a paid permit to bear arms on the people? It is the same as a poll tax is to voting.
nocogum do you have a fire extinguisher because you want to be protected in case of fire, do you use your seatbelt in your car because you want to be protected in case of a car wreck..I carry a gun NOT to shoot people, but to protect myself when the scum of the earth decide they want to harm me or my loved ones
If I saw that glock guy walking down the street with a gun it would scare the crap out of me. He assumes we'll look at him and think he's just a good-ole-boy.
Is Texas really that dangerous that you can't feel safe without carrying a gun?
nico, are you scared by police? i can guarentee you that 95% of citizens that would open carry, or concealed carry, practice and train more than most cops. i know quite a few and they shoot to qualify once every 3-6 months. every ccl carrier that i know goes every couple weeks and pay for better courses than standard police training. it is about safety, and the day you need a gun and dont have one will be your last.
