I always wondered who would dance with me at the father daughter dance when I get married. Every girl needs a male figure in their life. I never had one. This song makes me cry every time I hear this. Im 13. My dad has not even tried to contact me and my mom... and that hurts. I want a father.

He hated that he couldn't come and watch me grow, but he had been on a six month visa here before, and still had to wait another six months before he could come back. My mother never contacted him again, but looking at the pictures of him and me when I was a baby... I have his eyes. This song makes me sob uncontrollably. Daddy, I hope you see this. I love you, and I still care.

Thats broke my heart I felt like running to the bathroom and crying. Because of my dad I am strong I don't know how it feels with my dad dying.. But the way I feel, I'm pretty sure its close enough Pain.. I love you daddy. Come home soon..

It's hard to say exactly all that we've been through this openly, but I feel so alone in this big world a lot of the time. I miss my dad being home, even though he was home and out of work. im sorry for all of your losses. i havent experienced it but i know that it must hurt a lot. im so sorry and i hope everyone who has had this happen to will feel better. i know that nothing can replace your dad but life still goes on. your heart wont completely heal but it will get better. i know that people are hurting right now but you have to live on. my best friend died and i still havent moved on it was really hard on me because im still young and so was he. im 13 life sometimes hurts i kno
@jeweldrigger89 i know exactly how you feel. i'm my dads twin, all of my siblings are. all i've ever wished for in my life is for my dad to be back so i can make real memories with him and have him hold me when i cry. pictures and stories just aren't enough.
My daddy passed away when i was 4, i really don't remember much, i remember a few memories and have no pictures all of them disapeared, but i know what he looks like very well, he will be in my heart forever. i know he's watching me as i grow up and he could be truly disapointed at times, but i love my daddy and i really miss him <3

my dad died 2 months ago. i was at all-stars tryouts when i herd this song on the radio. i bursted into tears and cried for 3 days straight and did not stopped listening to this song. If my daddy was still alive this is the song that i would dance with him at the father daughter dance at my wedding some day. guess ill have to settle for my brother that day. I made all-stars and in our championship game my team stood at center ice and sang this song to me and my family. I have never felt happier
@iPhoneiNikki My dad died in sept 2010 unexpectedly. I know exactly how you feel about your wedding. That was one of my first thoughts the day my dad died. Luckily I too have a an older brother whom Im very close with and will be the one to dance with me and walk me down the eisle. Im only 23 years old and havent even thought of getting married yet but my dad and I had planned when i was 16 to dance to John Mayer's daughters. This song really hits home. So sorry for your loss.
