  • what exactly is the turbo bark?

  • SOOOOOOOO MUUUUUUUCH BOOOOOOOOST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • damn its a pullin lil truck

  • KAPUHGP vrooom

  • Ok, I posted on another vid similar to this. But I work as a deckhand on tugboat and every boat I've worked on was powered by cat pushing 3000 HP or more and our engines always without fail and on every boat make this sound? So why is it bad for trucks to make this sound? Pleas don't bash me, I've grown up around tugs not trucks so this sound is about as regular as as it gets to me.

  • HE GONE DUN TURBO BARKED.

  • sounds awesome, if only these weren't harmful haha...

  • 6 ina row= built to tow

  • Damn. thats got some power

  • black smoke= wasted power.

  • i think vtec kicked in about 0:17 lol and this is just a joke so dont tear me apart .

  • owning several dodge cummins turbo trucks i always wanted to know how the hell these transmissions take this kind of punishment? you rebuild it weekly?

  • can a barrow that for a bit?

  • thats a badass truck fuck you haters

  • @Z0t0Films what a gay comment

  • @SockBilly lol in your face Z0t0Films

  • @Z0t0Films hmm I guess a cocksucker would know what gay is, so I guess you have to be right.

  • @Z0t0Films || the black trim on the lower body is part of a special 'Sport' package

  • the sound of angels ;D

  • Hopefully the waste gate don't shit the bed. lol

  • External waste gate would sound sick and fix that bark

  • @cammingchevy

It's not a wastegate that will stop the bark. It's a blow-off valve (two totally different, but similar devices).

The wastegate just "bleeds" off excess exhaust gasses (relieving drive pressure) while a blow-off valve resides in the boost side, before intake manifold/head. It opens only when you let off the throttle, to "blow-off" the built-up boost pressure and allow the turbo to slow gradually instead of the shaft taking the hit of both wheels wanting to go different ways.

  • nice

  • That stack is f*cking GREAT hahahaha

  • Love this...sounds sick and the truck looks mint!!

  • you run a tial?

  • sounds fine to me nice oull

  • youtube.com/watch?v=giOAgzQpQsY&feature=related

  • That sound is simply a return of the compressed air through the compressor rotor.

When the engine is running fast at full power the compressor blows a lot of air through pipes and intercooler, when the engine reduces his speed to idle all the mass of compressed air, at high speed, returns to the compressor and does that sound.

You can damage pipes and intercooler before of the compressor wheel.

My car does the same sound, but less loud (it's a 1.7L 4cyl TD engine).

  • @nuclearthreat545 why is it horrible?

  • @SockBilly Thats bad for the turbo

  • @nuclearthreat545 says the guy who drives a prius.

  • @12doogy I drive a truck. Retard, thats why I'm looking these videos up

  • @nuclearthreat545 There is no need to call me a retard. I didn't say anything bad to you or about you.

  • @nuclearthreat545 i know all these fucking red necks

  • thats whicked nice surging although its hurting the turbo like a bastard. i thought the truck pulls were boring at first so i just stayed in the stands i wish i saw this tho

  • @454sskilla haha yeah i love sled pulling

  • @SockBilly What you were thinking of is a blow off valve. That vents the compressed air between the compressor and the engine as drive pressure drops to so you don't bark the turbo. However that truck doesn't seem to have one, or it didn't activate.

  • @bhaner oh so then what should i label it as loud ass compressor surge?

  • @SockBilly I would call it turbo bark. More people know what that is.

  • @SockBilly Yes, this is compressor surge. A BOV just makes engines sound like they have a cold. The only useful manifold valve I can picture would be a recirculation valve that would open and pipe the air back to the nozzle of the compressor. Could save the turbocharger, piping and charge air cooler some stress, and allow for better response (irrelevant for pulling, but for street use would be nice)

  • @bhaner synchronic bov, got one in mine sounds the same

  • @bhaner DIESELS DON'T HAVE VACUUM, no blow off valves. this bad of surge ruins turbos

  • @SockBilly A wastegate is on the exhaust side of the turbo. It helps to control turbo speed and boost by bypassing exhaust gas around the turbine wheel and back into the exhaust.

  • That's not a wastegate...

  • @bhaner what is it?

  • nice truck!

  • Comment removed

  • @spoolinaround yeah it does but it was the waist gate lol

  • thats outstanding truley amazing

  • @CUMMINANDSCANIAV8 i know right its sick

  • All that smoke coming out of that stack. I just want to stick my face in it and get a big deep breath, lol. Love it.

  • @TheTerminator310 hahaha yeah i know right
