d3 and falco's chaingrabs are really the only valid "combos" in barwl anyhow

Diddys dash attack has a load of follow ups, and bananas of course do allow a lot of combos.

Mario actually combos well with Utilt and in the air.

Sheik can combo with Fair, weak hits of Nair, Jab cancels, Ftilt, Dtilt, Utilt and Usmash. Oh, and she has combos out of a footstool which involve needles and DACUS.

Lower hitstun means you really need to use decay and know your options very well. I could say on the other hand that melee makes comboing too easy. Don't hit them too far, follow DI.

Look at this match. Not exactly massive combos every other hit. There is much more emphasis on it in melee as fast fallers dominate the metagame (bar puff and peach) and the hitstun is higher. Not trying to say brawl has more, or even a similar amount. However, if you think it has none, you have not played it, played a character that doesn't combo (plenty of those in melee) or tried to combo like it's melee.

I know there is more than Sheik's Dthrow, it's an example of an easy combo move.

You misunderstood. It's *only* spacing and prediction. And it's put together in a way where both things are made very, very easy.

It also doesn't leave much room in terms of playstyle. You can play melee anywhere from extremely offensive to extremely defensive/campy. In brawl, you camp or you play MK. And if you play MK, you might as well camp anyways since he does it so well.

Not to mention low tiers are hardly viable in Brawl. At least they have options in Melee/other fighters.

Reflex tears it up with Pokemon trainer, who is currently low mid. Plenty of low tiers are viable with a secondary, or if they don't have a complete rape matchup, they are perfectly viable. For example, the combination of Sheik and Zelda does not have anything worse than a moderate disadvantage (40:60) matchup. Currently, Sheik is the lowest of C tier and Zelda is in D tier.

However, it is harder to win with them. Hence the fact they are low tiers. Same for most games. Try winning with Pichu.

Putting yourself the optimum distance away form the opponent. If you're Marth, this is probably tipper distance, so you have highest damage output, and they probably cannot hit your back safely. If playing against Marth, you want to space yourself either right outside his range or right up next to him so he has lower power and has difficulty dealing with your attacks.
