actually, i was born and raised in the US.. im friends with only americans. this is my culture, and i integrate my religion into that, as christians or jews would. i pretty much have no arab or muslim friends, i go to parties, i do everything americans do minus all the things that would screw me over like hooking up with guys when im 11 or getting shitfaced every night.

i agree,but should our anger really arise from someone a politic cartoon of our prophet. They are not muslims and all we can do is condemn such acts and pray for them. i agree that some people reacted in the wrong way, with the threatening and all that. BUT people cant criticize us for being upset about it. especially since we're constantly under attack about our religion, we're a bit more sensitive than others haha. but i dont think we get mad because we're "weak in faith" because muslims are actually much more religious than any of the other religions. while christians get older and stop going to church, muslims are becoming more attached to their religion.

But also, if we are so religious and strong in our faith, we should be able to take hits from others and react practically and responsibly. well, i dont live in algeria. but i do go to palestine, jordan, egypt, syria, lebanon.. and yeah, the girls arent allowed out at all hours of the night but they do go out. like, me and my cousin used to go out everyday, not to parties, but we'd go to the mall, walk around the city at night. i had much more fun doing that than watching people get trashed. btw, yeah theres secret dating but not the kind you speak of. when people there get into relationships, they usually end up marrying the person

Many Muslims (as also fundamentalist Christians BTW) have no idea that the spirituality they live is God's gift to all mankind, and that there are very, very old forms of spiritual life that contains everything profound that your religion has to offer. There is nothing really new in Islam, except for the idea that you can take booty by spreading your religion (I suppose you know that sura of the Qur'an...)

It is not critized in the Muslim world, because the one shining example for child abuse is Mohammed, who married Aysha at 6 and consumed marriage when she was nine.
