Just got one Second hand for $300USD PQI 3G with 16GB mSD. It is an excelent tablet with honeycomb. But EDEN is TERRIBLE totaly unusable. I just can't wait for the official IceCreamSamich.

there is no switch between epaper mode and regular LCD mode

its just a button to turn of the backlight and make it less harmful to the eyes

the screen has even more glare then the iPad, so using it to read in sunlight would be a bad idea

I think that the Adam would do good if it was marketed more. Now, I realize that some of the points in the video were on the iPad and the Adam, like 3g, yet the iPad still had a sad face. Perhaps the Adam does them better, or perhaps worse, but you should give a happy face to the iPad if it does have it. Overall, the Adam looks to be the best device here, as long as it's actually $321. If it's over $600, I wouldn't pay for it, and as long as it's not cheap over-seas crap, but it looks good.

To video maker: I'm a huge Adam supporter, but your price isn't official yet and it's virtually guaranteed to not have the PixelQi screen, the HD video hours are 16 on Notion Ink's website, not 20; and the Kindle DX does have 3G wireless, and you can browse the web with it. (black and white, obviously)

These errors are just giving Crapple fans the excuses they need to say it's a video full of lies and the maxiPad reigns supreme. Please update your video with the correct info :)

Nicely biased video giving tons of checks to the Adam for the same features listed for the iPad. Lets talk Apps... The Android marketplace roughly has 35,000. Compared to the roughly 200,000 for the iPad. Running Flash the Adam will never be able to boast 16 hours (or even 5). Pricing for the Adam will START at 321ish. You won't get everything they are boasting about for that price. BTW the iPad starts at 499, not 800. And why are you even comparing the Kindle here?

But the iPad's biggest problem is the backlit screen (eyestrain and bad in direct light) as opposed to e ink. One of the big things with the Pixel Qi screen and the Adam is solving both those issues by having them in one place.

I realize this guy is biased towards the Adam, but I don't think he's really unjustified either.

@Halcyon000 The iBookstore is a selling point but it wasn't for me. I honestly haven't used mine in the sun at all. Sure its a problem but 99% of all the tablets coming out will have the same problem. Laptops have the same issue. So I don't even consider it a real "issue". As for the Adam, its part of a flooded "potential" list of roughly 40-50 other tablets with mixed identities. Its going to be hard for ONE tablet to grab a huge chunk of that market like the iPad did.

And it's not just about using it in the sun, its about staring too often at a screen that potentially damages your eyes in the long run. @Halcyon000 My interest in the Adam is dimming slowly and it has a great deal to do with the biased videos such as this one that act as if the Adam, which is a long way from production (if it even makes it), is soooo great and the iPad is crap. I have an iPad and really enjoy it. I'm also very interested in many of the other tablets coming out. And sure there are things the iPad doesn't have, but by the time these other tablets finally hit the market the iPad will be in its 2nd gen.

The App store alone had 150,000 apps way back in January and is now up over 200,000 - with over 5000 just for the iPad alone - fully optimized for its screen real estate. the kindle dx is a good device (very expensive though) ... but what was that about no 3G on it. It does have it (and free). My gripe with ereaders (i have tried 5 so far - returned 3; sold 2) is that Adobe and the like still don't license their best technology (say for pdf). If I were to use a full fledged os like Ubuntu (with a 3Qi screen), this offsets everything. I need multi-touch for my comics and graphic novels though.

Hmm the $321 price will likely be for the non-Pixel Qi version. I see realistic high street prices between 450 and 800. The main factor will be how many layers of middle men there are. This has the potential to severely dent the e-reader market. It just everything the iPad should have been AND without the crappy Apple insistence on lock-in. I for one will be getting an Adam. I can't wait. But it's Mary Lou Jepsen's Pixel Qi component which is the true marvel here. Very clever lady !

not so fast. android store is presently only available for mobile/ cellular devices. as you see on notion ink website, it will be a store notion ink develops. I prefer Ubuntu on this. I just want multi-touch to work on ubuntu (and of course the 3qi screen). Also, the iPad in it's own right is a great device (just too expensive and no 3Qi screen). All I need to do for now is shove all my credit cards in to the freezer.

Adam, although a great beginner tablet, is still too limited. It has features that should be in all tablets, but for tablets to be taken seriously, they can't put in OS's that are used for phones, Windows 7 is a great start as it is built specifically for touch screens and handwriting, if Android becomes hand writing capable and has multiple work programs then it will be great, but alot of companies have closed their doors on Android already because it didn't sell on the current phones.

you don't know about the pricing yet, the page just states a range between 321 and 800 dollars. Also you can not compare a tablet pc with a e-reader, and e-reader with e-ink was not meant to be a tablet; of you course you can compare the experience of lecture in both devices, but saying "kindle dx has no flash" is just a big mistake, it's like comparing a macbook pro or a HP envy with the Adam: it can't stand a chance, 'cause there are different things!!
