  • Atheists, Christians (or Muslims or Jews), he's a fucking Scientologist! Beat his ASS!!!

    Great video, mate.

  • "I did not say stone the fucking children!"

  • "So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth"-Revelation 3:16

  • lol

  • lol great video

  • You're right, there's a distinct difference between religion and spirituality. Spirituality is a personal thing, a lifestyle to help or satisfy oneself. There aren't buildings, or rules, or threats, or symbols, or fearmongering, or age-old books. Those are products of religion. I am an atheist, but I am spiritually fulfilled and lead a satisfying life.

The best period of my life was being outcasted by the church my family attended, because it was when I first felt somewhat enlightened.

  • "That's not me! They're just making this shit up!" ROFLMAO!!! You nailed it.

  • Ok, dad, boy u told me!

  • I respect the fact that u r TRYING 2 seperate urself from religion. That's the first step back 2 reality. HOWEVER, u r still worshipping a Book that....even if u feel is only 3/4 BS....u MUST throw out the whole thing! A lot of JC's teachings were very enlightening but it doesn't mean He existed NOR that He was divine! U can find similar teachings within Buddism!

  • I don't recall calling m yself an intellectual but I am wise enuff 2 know that ur last comment made NO sense! And u sound like u need meds!

  • Ummmm?!? Oooookidokey...!?!

  • Eternity in hell is A VAST DIFFERENCE compared to a spanking! And who's more accountable...one who is good for goodness sake/for the good of society or one who's only reason to be good is for a ticket to heaven and to stay out of hell? U can blame all kinds of things on god whereas an atheists doesn't have the same crutch.

  • Ok, so YOU have a better understanding of what the Bible meant than Xtians or those of religion...(I've been here too)....Now, don't u think it's odd that god would be so ambiguous and confusing to so many. Oh sure, YOU get the true message but look at how many don't...u find this just/loving?

  • Yeah, poor Xtians the world WANTS them 2 feel bad. What verse? and was it FROM the Book of lies? If u call urself Xtian it means u believe in JC....if u believe in JC then u MUST believe in I AM....if u belive in ALL of that YOU ARE RELIGIOUS!!!

  • Well, then human parents are BETTER parents as they r WAY more loving than ur god!

  • So I'm sorry if I don't want people running my country or ANY country who r capable of believing and/or USING such lies!

  • Religion is used for socio/political control. How do think Bush got voted in TWICE? It was mostly religios fanatics who heard the message "we're gonna end terror!" To THEM this was like hearing the messiah say, "we're gonna stop evil!" and is, no less, ridiculous!!!

  • "It's the man who chooses not to learn who is the least intelligent. " THIS statement is a precise reason as 2 y religion is so detrimental. A religious person accepts ficticious claims as truth and all his/her searching ends with god as opposed 2 someone using critical thinking who CONTINUES 2 search 4 REAL truth!

  • That's y there's a saying "when hell freezes over..." ...?!...Anyways, the problem with people belieiving in such fairy tales is that they propogate them as truth and believe them as truth. This has proven itself 2 b a toxic thing causing war and conflict...AND is a sign of insanity. Ever hear of the salem witch hunts or abortion clninc bombers? How bout suicide bombers?

  • YOUR point was that any god worth his salt would NOT be understandable to us puny humans. NOW ur sayng that god DOES explain things in an understandable way by using how humans teach their children...?!? Bottom line: NO human would consider it good parenting 2 lock their children in hell 4ever simply becuz the child didn't believe something!

  • But then even if hell freezes over and we find such a wonderful, loving Xtian...THEY would, in fact, being going against their own theology anyway!

  • A loving and just god...much like a loving and just parent...makes sure to explain the rules clearly in a way that their children/creation would understand. And such a god/parent would KNOW exactly how 2 do this!

  • Well, if "natural man doesn't understand things of spirit" what ARE Christians then exactly?!???

  • How can u DO what's in it when u don't understand it?!? And it's funny how Xtians will say that people don't understand it cuz their not OPEN enuff 2 it OR they'll say what ur saying....we don't understand it cuz God's more intelligent! HOW DOES IT SHOW INTELLIGENCE to be PURPOSELY ambiguous towards ur own creation? Either u didn't HAVE the ability to be CLEAR cuz ur NOT god or ur a sadistic ass who is UNloving and not worthy of praise!

  • Yeah, it seems that a god could make a clearer point!

  • Well presented, you have good energy.

If a God wrote, or had any role in the making of the bible, it may very well be his intention to get those reading it to think and work out the puzzles.

Yes, this sounds very odd to me as well. But if fellow humans can puzzle me with their prerogatives, an entity facilitated (or not) in something outside a human brain, that entity could be vastly different to myself.

lol at some more of your deliverance.

  • Great video.

I don't think there's much danger to the moderate Christians becoming Fundies. I think they would be fundamentalists already if they could. I think moderate Christianity is a classic case of cognitive dissonance (trying to believe two contradictory things at once, like science and religion). If they could swallow the whole 6000 year old earth, they would have done so already.

  • Oh, one constructive criticism, I don't agree with the definition of deism.

My take on it, others may differ, is not that God chooses not to intervene. It's rather a matter of scale. The universe is huge. The Creator can no more have a "personal relationship" with us or be concerned with our petty concerns any more than a scientist can with a bacteria cell cultivated in a petri dish.

Again, that's my take on it. Other deists may disagree.

  • i think becoming a Deist is kinda false as well, because you can still reject facts and blame it all on a sky faire, right?

  • Man this is hilarious!

  • Good stuff mate.

Awesome way to convey the truth.

  • Tough being original with this topic but you pulled it off. Great vid.

  • dude you are so hilaroius i cant believe it...

the wheel is turning but the fucking hamster is dead ahhahahahhahaa

  • I disagreed with a lot of this, but it's so hilarious I have to compliment you on it.

    Good work.

  • JC referes to the scriptures..but does he refere to A & E and Noah? the acient theologist probably put them there possibly cos it fitted with a god message at that time. Anyway i am concerned that you are coming away from what you originally set out to do and that was to research more about the content of the bible, and now it feels like you are being drawn down the route of attacking relegion because its the easiest option!!! Entertaining yes, but good for you ...?

  • well, he supposedly died to absolve us of our sins and I'm assuming original sin. of course original sin started off in the garden of eden. I'm not really attacking religion.. I'm just trying look at the absurdities associated with certain aspects of it.

  • Good!

  • Interesting, but Its widely considered the "word" of god not written by god. Fortunately it has been translated so we call all read it and make our own conclusions. Unlike the Quoran for example which hasnt and interpretations are dished out by the local priest, and that works well doesnt it. As a hisotical doc the bible & NewTestament stands up very well. With that much documentation behind it why not take it at least at face value, or are you more likely to believe whats in the papers.

  • If you mean that it is considered to be mans interpretation of what man thinks god would say if God had personally transcribed it... then I see your point. I actually have no problem with that idea as I think that is exactly what occured. However..if God did psychically transcribe it then you would imagine it to be perfect in every regard and you would assume he would'nt allow any dodgy stories or translation errors to occur. Many believe that god personally transcribed it but only certain parts

  • The new testament certainly holds up better historically than the old. It still has a ton of debateable points and flaws and of course leaps of faith have to be taken to accept the stories and events contained within. Milder and more inspiring than the old testament by a long chalk, ..but jesus believed in adam and eve and moses etc...and that gives me problems as I think those characters are fictional. If the son of god is believing in fictional characters then something is screwy somewhere.

  • A tablet found in Jordan written decades before the birth of Christ talks of a concept of death and resurrection and that only the shared blood of the leader will move God to come and redeem his people. This deletes the Christian religion as anything but a cult formed to empower a population ruled by the Roman invaders.

  • samtem, if any thing it reinforces it if what you are saying is true. 1 cos god gave us jesus to take us away from making sacrifices. or 2 if it was before then you could equally say it was a prophesy? (unlikely though as its un substantiated) Interesting though how you can put your trust in a historical document older than the bible, yet many use the argument that the bible cant be tru cos its so old. In perspective is a very recent historical document.

  • My dear bsirrell: They are both bullshit. Both are documents that were written as fantasy by a people wishing they were free from their oppressors. Of course the tablet is rubbish. There is no angel Gabriel, although I am sure the Muslims will take offense at that. I am just pointing out that the idea of a being dying and then a few days later becoming alive again was the current story. That is fantasy of the time / fashion of the day.

  • Then if your tablet is rubbish why use it as a point of defence! DUUH!

  • It proves the bible is rubbish! DUUUH!!!

  • When you take a middle ground on the bible, *you* are the gray area.

And not in a good way.

  • I'm going with the 'Holy Bucket of Bile'

  • It is interesting that you are so upset about the Bible. I mean I can't see myslef being so engaged in fight against peoples beliefs. Where does that agitation come from? Relax man! Take it easy! There is no need to be so agitated about it.

  • lol, I appreciate your concern - I'll keep taking the tablets.

  • Humans are complicated animals with large brains and weak bodies. Because of this our growing takes many years and we need protection from the world. In this time we are very open and are programmed to 'believe' everything we are told. Religion takes full advantage of this weakness in our development and our children believe and maintain beliefs that would otherwise be rejected by an older more rational person. This is the way all religions grow and survive. Thats why people attack religion.

  • samten54: I belive these are your beliefs (your religion) and I respect that. I will disrespect anyone who attempts to attack you because of your beliefs. I hope you understand what I mean.

  • VictorScotland:

I do understand what you mean.

If my beliefs 'potentially harm others' I would expect to be attacked for them. I would actually want to be attacked. Healthy debate is mans only hope. Stifling debate is where suffering finds it's home. My concern about traditional religions that rely on faith and fear are that they harm the mental state of people. For instance a psychologist friend of mine makes his living from Christians with guilt complexes.

    Thank you for your comment

  • "If my beliefs 'potentially harm others' I would expect to be attacked for them. I would actually want to be attacked."

I'd only ad "If I wanted to FORCE my beliefs and world view on everyone else, I would EXPECT people to resist me and fight against me."

Believe whatever you want, just don't pretend you have a mandate from "on high" to force everyone else to bow down to you, for your god.

  • One Good thing about the Bible is the creation of your videos...Keep them coming.

  • another excellent and funny view!!! highly enjoyable when viewed from distance!

    Thanks kalsolar!

  • Hmmm, moderate christians only have 7 commandments- go to church 1 per year- drink lite beer-- use condoms--sleep in church--close eyes but don't pray-- stuff like that:)

  • lol, sounds about right

  • ahhh... deism...

so much easier to fake when you're trying to make eagle than any other form of belief...

  • Damn them bloody LED lights. XD

You pretty sum it all up with the creation of the bible. In my own opinion, the Brothers Grimms' fairy tales have more moral to offer than the Bible.

  • yep, I'm rather fond of the brothers grimm.. theres much more heart in snow white and the seven dwarfs than in the whole of the old testament. lol.

  • Bravo!

  • I agree. The only christians whose integrity I can respect are the total fundamentalist, bible literalist kind; problem is though: THEY'RE TOTAL morons.

Therefore, the only good christian is a moron christian.

    QED

  • lol, I like your thinking!

  • What does this QED stand for? Quantum ElectroDynamics? Sorry, I'm not a native english speaker.

  • Jacnas: QED stands for the latin "Quod Erat Demonstrandum," meaning "that which was to have been demonstrated."

Strictly speaking I didn't use it correctly: in mathematics it follows the final deduction, which is a restatement of the assertion to be proved (i.e., that which was to have been demonstrated).

Colloquially, it's generally used to mean you've just presented an airtight, deductive argument :)

  • Thx. Now I remember it from math class but we didn't use latin so that explains why I'm unfamiliar with this abbreviation.

  • I guess God's forte is working solo: kick-starting the Big Bang, designing galaxies, programming web-spinning know-how into spiders. When it comes to working with people--delegating tasks, supervising them to make sure they carry out directions correctly, etc.--He's something of a lax administrator.

Kind of like the guy in the office who can be trusted with solo projects, but doesn't have quite the right leadership qualities to have direct reports.

    - Todd

  • yes, it certainly seems that way. I just don't understand how some people can accept some parts of the bible as being absolutely gods word (like the 10 commandments etc) and then dismiss other parts out of hand as if a true god would allow there to be errors and utter nonsense mixed in with his holy word.

  • Well, they say what seems like a second to God can seem like millions of years to man ... so maybe He's just "stepped out" for a few seconds (sometime around the time our ancestors were just starting to get the knack of sharpening stones). And He'll slap His Holy Head in stunned surprise when He returns.

When it comes to moderate theism, there's *lots* of possibilities!

  • I could never understand how people could persistently say that the Bible is the literal word of God. Let's see here...

    Translations:

    1. It was, probably, written in a now lost language.

    2. Translated to Farsi.

    3. Translated to Greek, where it was preserved.

    4. Translated from Greek into Latin, where the Roman Empire may have changed things to fit their lives.

    5. From Latin to German, English, Spanish, and French.

I don't know about you, but the game Telephone comes into mind a little

  • It only really makes sense in the original Klingon.

  • right! lol

  • LOL! Yet another winner from esteemed prophet kalsolarUK. But the burning question is... if God 'wrote' the Bible, does he get royalties?? If so, he must be sloshing around in more dosh than J.K. Rowling. And what about the film rights? Did Cecil B. DeMille, Mel Gibson, etc. have to negotiate these with him? Ah, what is it about the Bible that throws up more questions than answers? Everything in moderation...

  • lol..yep I bet god has a bank account only ever equalled by Elvis Presley.

My next video incidentally is going to include something about the Hollywood Jesus epics that might just prove a little revealing.

  • Style and sense covered in a chilli sauce! excellent! 5/5

  • lol, glad to have tickled your atheistic taste buds.

  • /thunderous applause

  • why thankyou sir - however I feel I should share some of the applause with the writers of the good book - afterall - where would I be without them? lol.

  • I do see a difference between moderate and extreme Christians, but not on a theological basis. But rather on sociology efforts. To me a moderate Christian is one who keeps his/her faith to themselves. While the others want to but their faith everywhere.

  • Let me put it another way. My understanding is in the UK radical Christianity is really not a problem but radical Islam is. Do you see a difference between radical and moderate Islam?

Not trying to antagonistic, just expressing my thoughts ad being curious.

  • That is true - moderates are more "moderate" in the way they conduct themselves too - but their beliefs do tend to be a lot less literal at the same time. Which is silly in my opinion - because either god is writing a book or he isnt. He's not gonna be involved in some semi-believable half-baked bible.

  • Excellent. I actually had a video planned called "Be A Deist". I shall sit on it until memories of this fine video are a little more distant. :) 5.

  • well at least deism has the dignity of being able to dismiss the nonsense of any religious book - which is no bad thing at all.

  • Will be interesting to hear your take on the subject - I look forward to it.

  • "The wheel's turning...but the bloody hamster's dead!" XD

  • " 'I did not say, "stone the fucking children"!' " Brilliant! I haven't laughed this hard is a good while.

  • Excellent! A very interesting take on an interesting question. I agree completely. The question is black and white. Either God wrote a very poor piece of shit or someone else did. The conlusion's the same either way: someone else did.

  • too true... Honestly, sometimes it embarrases me to be human when I see what some people choose to have faith in.

  • Comedic genious, I love your vids ^^

  • Moderate Christians are inconsistent, but people like Ken Miller are very useful. They make science not seem like the atheistic conspiracy that it is.

    MWAHAHAHAHA!

Let's all go back to planting fossils and rearranging geological layers.

  • Very good point. I am much more pro science than I am anti-theistic.

  • Brilliant!!!!

  • Hehe, you remind me of Eddie Izzard with your dialogues. Maybe that's not what you want to hear since most people want to be original... Oh well. Still, funny stuff!

  • lol, thanks - rest assured I wont be taking to wearing make-up at any point.

  • "lol, thanks - rest assured I wont be taking to wearing make-up at any point."

Well, I subscribed anyway, DESPITE your unwillingness to go drag. :P

Love stand up bits on religion. Ripe pickings!

  • How may people have said you remind them of Eddie Izzard?

I doubt you know off hand but it must be a few.

  • yes, I've had that said a few times now - perhaps there's some subconscious influence going on. lol.

  • You need a shout out. You're really funny, it's amazing that you don't have thousands of subscribers.

Every video I watch (where appropriate) you'll get a shout out and maybe one of the youtubers with tons of subscribers will give you a shout out.

"I wouldn't of written it like that."

    Classic.

  • Hey, thats very kind of you! Much appreciated - glad to know the videos are keeping you amused - after reading the bible I feel that its only fair that I pass on the nonsense in video form. Always good to see people picking appart these fairy stories in the comments!

  • 5*s. Subscribed.

  • Another great video - I love it when you get totaly upset, it just reflects how I feel a lot of the times. BTW, speaking of books, did you by any chance read The Divine Invasion by Phillip Dick? It explains why God isn't around just now in a way that an atheist SF lover, such as myself, can connect to. Great read, that is. Of course, we're talking about the man that casually mentions in a different book that "God is dead, don't you know it? We found his carcass floating in space, didn't we?"

  • Sounds like an interesting novel, I've never read it but I might just have to check it out! Thanks.

  • I am a deist, beat you all to it.

  • Hey,lol, I noticed you mentioned dumb another book, very funny man.

  • Great stuff and done in your funny way, always entertaining!!your great at this.

  • when referring to creationists: 'the wheel's still turning but the hamster's dead'

    fucking awesome.

    5/5

  • good 1 lol

  • Brilliantly funny as usual. 5 stars

  • i think if moderate christians would have to choose between fundamentalist chritianity and deism, most would choose fundamentalist chritianity simply because deism doesn't offer the comfort they look for.

  • Yep, thats kinda what I was thinking. Given the choice, the they would find a way of making sense of the sillier parts of the bible in order to maintain their faith.

  • Brilliant, again. You are one of the funniest people on youtube.

  • Hey, thanks for that! I just wish I was as funny as Ken Ham and Kent Hovind. I'm sure I've cracked the occasional rib watching their lectures! hehe!

  • LOL

God goes outside for a fag?! He's god for gossake!

I never understood the mental acrobatics people have to perform to just believe parts of the bible, and disbelieve other parts...

  • well, I suppose he'd have to go outside really - so long as he doesnt stand too close to the pearly gates. They wouldnt perhaps look as good with nicotine stains on them. lol.

  • lol brilliant, love your videos. make me laugh every time

    keep up the great work

  • I am currently talking with a Jehovah Witless on another thread and he says science is fine for explaining things in nature but not for the spiritual. WTF!

The flood is my favourite babble story. The forming of the Grand Canyon by this 'flood' is so explanatory of what the book is full of, like you say, bile. 5*s

  • Perfect just perfect.

"The wheel´s turning, but the fucking hamster´s dead" Is the most accurate description of a creationist I´ve ever heard!. Well with the exception of "Fucking Wankers"

    +5!

  • yep, I'd say both statements equally apply, lol. Occasionally I try to debate these people out of boredom but I can see that all I'm going to get out of it in the end is an ulcer.

  • I do hope God is one of your subscribers: he would learn a lot!! Another great vid. Kindly accept 5*

  • lol, I keep looking to see if god has subscribed yet but he's probably too busy watching the videos of saintbirgitta.

  • lol you crack me up

  • If I believed in God, I would be a deist, too. The universe is basically the same as an atheistic one, just with a unhelpful yet blameless God.

    Great video - again!
