  • this is a 3.0i natural. the z4 sdrive35 w/ twin turbos engine is lot faster.

  • @mudpuppy4life Nope, mine's 231hp and that's with the old 3.0 engine. The newer model (mark 1) makes 265hp and the mark 2s with the twin turbos make up to 335.

  • @staggabob ya it depends on the year and model man. The new N52 engine in the 3.0i only makes 215hp but the SI model makes closer to 260. The m54 engine with 231hp is solid though.

Even though in almost all cases (except Turbo) those engines produce less power and far less torque than the BMW's engine and every stock car to use them has been slower than a 3.0 Z4 you think somehow this particular Civic would be special? My Type R EP3 had a K20A2 in it, the car was 200kg lighter than my Z4 yet it was still slower 0-60 and far slower in real world driving- fuck all torque. Good fun car though.

  • @staggabob i was talking about an ek.. a ek is much lighter than a ep. and your k20a2 has nothing on a jdm h22a or jdm k20a. your ep is basically compared to a gsr integra. if this ek had a h22a or k20a the bimmer wouldnt stand a chance

  • @vtownHduece You were talking about an engine, not a chassis. OK the JDM Type R EK's 0-60 is the same as the BMW Z4 3.0i's - 5.7 seconds. But the Honda has far less torque. So again I'd have to ask why the BMW "wouldn't stand a chance"? Surely those stats suggest it obviously would? And I'm talking as someone who's owned both a fast Honda and a fast(ish!) BMW. Have you? Or are you just one of those kids who plays NFS and thinks they know it all?

  • u don't really need 2 get a k20. wut most of my friends are doing is put turbo on the gsr and tune it 2 handle a boost of 10-15 psi. it's proven 2 that gsr motors can push out as many horse power as the k-series or even more. my opinion, save the gsr and build it. lesser money spent.

  • True but not all motors can produce what a B18 can. Probly b/c of its high redline and high CR. If you tune them correctly and don't do anything tooo retarded they are pretty sturdy as well.

    The motor is a marvel the people and the cars that it gets put into can be pretty gay sometimes though.

  • how built are your friends? motor wise i mean. lol. because i have raced a 92-95 coupe a couple weeks ago (real clean and JDM looking, and real low) and supposedly that generation civic is lighter than mine, and with a GSR motor, and type r cams, intake, header, exhaust. it was pretty quick, but my K still won =) from 60mph, im in 3rd, he was in 2nd and i slowly walked it, then in 4th i started walking it even faster. so how far in the process of getting your swap are you?

  • i have a friend with a fully built gsr another with a 94 coupe dx wich is only 2200lbs and he has a gsr with toda cams and head ported..another gsr coupe dx...an H2b hatch ls/v hatch and im the only one rockin the single lol...but thats funny that you started in 3rd and still walked the dude i kno wat the kseries are capable of theres just a bunch of haters lol...dude im still dreaming about it cuz i have no money for anything so its guna be a while..in due time tho

  • b-series is still a good motor. i dont hate, just hate people who dont accept facts. lol. atleast stock vs stock, the k will win, even with matching power to the k. ive also raced a h22 swapped coupe with same power and more torque......do i have to say who won? haha. i didnt "rape" him, but i still kept walkig away from it. i think the trick of it is in the gears. what kind of numbers does your GSR coupe friend make?

  • i dont hate them either its just everyone has a b series...haha yea i think that 6spd really helps... with a shitty header and small exhaust he put out 185hp to the wheels i dont kno if the header is really restricting him but for a fully built gsr thats pretty low he got a new header and full piping so we will see wat happens.. its still fast as hell we raced a Sti with a 3inch turbo back intake stage2 cobb tunner and we were rite at his door till 130 lol

  • thermal (ricer) a race from a dig would be even worse for that civic

  • z4 3.0 has naturally aspirated.. with performance and supercharged it can reach 400+ hp and its a rear wheel drive. the best si motor is k20 which it has 225 hp but its heavy. if you are talking about swap motor on the civic then imagine the z4 with swap motor M series which its has stock 330hp naturally aspirated or maybe the twin turbo sDrive35i. i have a civic em2 with K20z3 motor turboed but I'm planning to get bmw z4M or M6.

  • no he wasnt.. you should hear a big change in sound. noone stays in vtec and then waits and revs up the car.. you stay off vtec like around 4-5k rpms and then when you get the signal to go you punch it and it should engage in vtec afterwards..
