This man is a fraud - so suited to Fox. Thought units indeed relate to patterns, but the patterns change as they are modified over time.
The patterns are not translatable without knowing what thought they relate to, but the cruncher is that EVERY individual creates different patters in response to the same stimula. So a 'dictionary' is arrant nonsense. For roughly the same reason thoughts cannot be 'transferred' - there is no analog connection.
