A very useless take-off coverage,you wanted people to know you once flew to kenya!Whats the point of showing us the right wing of our beautiful kenyan plane and other features outside then claim you are showing us take-off its disgusting,kindly watch clips of the biggest planes taking off,wont you!!!
Dry season sucks everywhere in Africa. This vid must have been recorded during the time. Even then, it looks much better at night when you fly out of there. The lights make it look sweet since there's hardly any fog.
Thanks for the video, which I watched prior to my trip this April. It means so much more now!
Actually, Starboard76, our visit was at the end of the rainy season and Lilongwe Airport and Malawi were lush, green and vibrant with tropical flowers. Awesomely beautiful! The only disappointment: it rained the day we left and by the time we took off after many hours delay due to the Iceland Volcano disruption, Malawi was completely under cloud and we couldn't see a thing! Better luck next time!
cinkmoot, they regularly fly the 777 and 767-300er, i'm a regular flyer of the short hop from nairobi to llw and i've only ever flown a 737 once. They use long haul jets to cater for all the extra luggage demand for passengers to llw and lusaka.
Very good shot of a KQ 777 at very rare location, Lilongwe, Malawi..I would never expect this giant in such desolate airfield..I 'google-earthed' Lilongwe Airport and it's as airport is as barren as it appears here. But it's 'real Africa' as you'd imagine it. Just awesome, that's for uploading this rare viewing!
@Starboard76 When I was there it was a bit busier. There were at least 20 light aircraft out on the apron and 2 comercial aircraft as well, one was an SAA 777 and the other was a kenyan 737
I like Kenya Airways

@Starboard76 desolate airfield?
snookieflash 1 year ago
@snookieflash yes 'desolate' as in "(of a place) deserted of people and in a state of bleak and dismal emptiness" as define by a dictionary.
Unless you see aircraft tails all over the place...I don't.
