lifting your head is not allowed in all powerlifting federations. it is not allowed in the ipf, and it is not allowed in this particular federation (wdfpf). as awesome a lift as it is, it should have failed under wdfpf rules. the rules state that the head must be in contact with the bench before commencement of the lift, and it must not move from this position throughout the lift. disappointing that the judges failed to pick up on an obvious rule impingement. hope u don't take offence
awesome strength, however this lift should have failed under drug free pl rules. he clearly lifts his head off the bench. this isn't allowed yet the refs didn't fail it! why?
He lifts his head on the way down and puts it back on the way up which is allowed in all powerlifting organisations, if that were the case about 70% of the big lifts would fail. The bench shirt is so tight it causes your head to lift up on the way down. The rules apply after the pause, however if you look at the video he moves his left foot, which the swiss ref red carded him, the other refs didn't see it so he got the lift.
seen him benching once or twice, pure savage.
