  • Dont buy pipes from pakistan lol

  • and by the way don't give up

  • i have tha same bagpipes

    here some help full tip

buy a pratice chanter, then buy a pracyice pipe and on thoes bagpipes don't use a plastic reed

  • 4-Give up

  • 1 - Get a practice chanter

    2 - Get a teacher

    3 - Get new pipes

  • needs more upbeat.

Keep up the good work. It takes 7 years to make a piper, so you've got 6 years 9 months to go :-)

  • cheers Jeff mate for sending this to me ...must admit if i was to put on 50kg...this very well cud be me in a few years time....some may argue i may be struggling already to head him off...

  • Definition of a gentlemen :- a man who can play the bagpipes but doesn't!!!

  • you should tune those drones! you can get piper's choice poly pipes for around $500 and they're pretty good for me.

  • wtf is that rosewood bagpipes?

  • Good effort! I recommend that you just Ignor comments from hockeyplaya49. Do ditch those paki pipes, and if you have a paki chanter ditch it and get a good Dunbar, or other good chanter. There are many good suppliers in the US, avoid eBay. There are others, I perfer The Cletic Piper or Aberdeen Pipe supply. Both have web sites just google them. If an instructor is avalible great, if not there are many good pipers worldwide that are totally self taught. Any good piper will help you online.

  • A few months. The fact you can keep the drones going and play Skye Boat Song is pretty amazing. Throw the pipes away, buy a practice chanter, and take lessons. You'll be amazed with your progression. (You were joking, right?)

  • get a practace chanter and get lessons. you;ll learn faster put the bagpipe away for a couple of years and come back to it when you ahve mastered all the aspects of ceol beag.

  • Thanks for that most enlightening and useful crit of my performance.. Sounds like you work from a trailer park somewhere.

  • hahahahaha hahahaha you fucking suck! hahaha

  • ya you learned the song its a bitchen song good job ..i can sell you a set of dunbar p1 that sounds great it almost compares to my hardies and grainger and campbells...dunbar wants like 900$ for them now i bought them a long time ago for 600$ ill sell them for 550$

  • Good work so far. You absolutely gotta get better pipes!! You'll be amazed how good you'll sound 'cause you obviously can play the tunes. You just need a real set of pipes. Spend the money, Man. You'll not regret it... You'll regret if you keep trying to learn on those things.

  • Keep Trying man. You'll get there some day. You might want to try getting a set of more expensive pipes. You will find they will be much better!

  • I have to agree with others out there. It is pretty bad but your just a beginner and people should recognize that. If you tune those pipes and learn the tune, it'll sound great!

  • That was the worst shit i think i've ever heard. I just want to freak out and grab those ugly sounding/looking shit pipes and beat them against the floor.

  • Thanks for the comment, glad you enjoyed it.

  • wood chipper friendly....

    :o)

  • First things first....ditch the piece o' shit Pakistani pipes. Then work on the other problems.

  • Ok, ok... if you want some serious advise, first off, I give you a ton of credit for wanting to play the pipes. It's an awesome instrument. However, first off, learn on a chanter.. this is absolute must... not a recommendation it's a requirement if you want to be good. Two, Hockeyplaya49 is right... ditch those pile of shit pipes... they are horrible... they'll discourage your faster than shit! Try some Dunbar P1's to start...

  • Thanks for the positive comment. This was recorded about a year ago and since then it has all come to a halt as I have broken my left shoulder, Have been toying with upgrading and have been hitting the practice chanter, its for fun mainly and I have enjoyed it.

  • dude you have no clue what you are doing stop playing or get an instructor and learn properly. plus you will need a better set of bagpipes.

  • How can I take serious criticism from someone who uses the word "Dude" and has no idea of how to write in English? May I suggest that you get one of your hillbilly cousins who can read to look up the word "punctuation." Better still, strap a bomb to your waistcoat and detonate yourself in front of George Bush and his fellow knuckle draggers!

  • well this is fucking youtube you slice of shit. Im not trying to speak my best english here, especially to such a shitty piper like yourself. Trust me I know what im talking about I have been piping for 10 years and this instrument is imposible to learn without an instructor. Also before you play the bagpipes you need to learn on a seperat instrument called a practice chanter. Trust me I have been through this before. Sorry I was trying to be nice but I guess you are just a slice of shit.

  • Also you have really cheap pakistani pipes and those pipes are terrible. They are an immitation set of bagpipes, if you wish I can give you advice on buying a set of pipes.

  • What say the neighboors? :)

  • Don't let the other comments hurt you. I know you said you had started only a few months ago, and I am considering playing the bagpipes right now, and am actually encouraged that someone could play this song after only a few months. Keep up the work, I hope I can play the pipes soon. :)

  • Unfortunately, without instruction, there is no way this poor guy is going to improve. The whole point of playing is for your own pleasure as a minimum, right? So the question to ask is, does this give you pleasure? I hazard a guess, but I'd say the answer is no. Either find an instructor, or carry on inflicting this on yourself with the resultant disappointment. The choice is yours.

  • dude, you have problems...the only relation to the two songs played would be if you recorded them onto a CD, left it in the sun for a week and then tried to play the CD on a RECORD PLAYER!!!! GET A DIFFERENT HOBBY.

  • This was a joke, right? If not, you really should consider deleting this from YouTube and not posting again until you are able to take many lessons, practice a lot, tune properly, and play them correctly.

  • Dont pick on him hes doing a gd job at it im a gd piper so dont pick on us pipers

  • Hey, I play the pipes too. But one big difference is that I know how to tune them and play the tunes correctly. Playing like this is why some people thing all bagpipes sounds like crap - because that's what this sounds like.

Oh, I can spell too. Maybe in between lessons you can give that a try, too.

  • (that post was in response to buster12345buster from a couple weeks ago)

  • If you think he's doing a "gd" job, perhaps you should re-evaluate your own playing.

  • Wow. I loved it. Those are 2 of my fav tunes on the pipes. Way to go.

  • Somewhere, in the UK, there has got to be an instructor that could help you, somewhere....

  • But sadly, not in Dorset. I think the nearest is about 85 miles away, which is about as far as you would want to be from a bagpipe school! I've been suffering from a shoulder injury and haven't been able to hold them for a while, much to my neighbour's relief.

  • Skye Boat Song and Amazing Grace ...

    Keep at it !! ...

    I've heard worse!

No one said it would be easy!

  • Why thanks for that, I'm trying to find the time to get back into it, maybe I'll post another soon. - There's always the trumpet, trombone and guitars to post as well

  • field marshall is looking your mobile number. see you at the worlds

  • ROTFLMAO !!!

  • ebay special!!!!! hope you kept your reciept. golf might be a better idea for passing time

  • Good luck, I have to say for a beginner you are pretty good. But... work at it more. A lot more.

  • Oh my goodness...are those Pakistani pipes? Please work on stable air flow and tuning. Good luck!!!

  • Unfortunately, I think that's the BEST tuning and tone I've EVER heard come out of any set Paki pipes! ;) $149 on eBay!

  • u taking the p*** or wot

  • I'm better than I was but no great shakes as yet. A broken shoulder put the pipes onto the back burner for a while but I did pipe in the New Year it was good for sending the drunks home.

  • Burn it in your fire place, buy real practice chanter and a real bagpipes set. Find a teacher, and let's go for a better show in some month... Don't stop... I started one year ago, and think I'm a great player when I see this. Of course I'm not lol

  • iceprincess200279, be kind to him.

LOL! If I ever decide to learn to play bagpipes I will learn on plain coloured ones until I am more proficient.

    GigglegigglehahahahahaHAHAHAhahahaaaa!

  • I am never going to try to play a bagpipe for fear of sounding like you. Thanks for enlightening me! You are my hero!

  • HaahaaahHaHAHAHAHAHahaahaaaaaa!

I use to LIKE that song! Rofl, perhaps you should put a warning label on it similar to the allergy warnings they put on tinned soups: ** WARNING **

Listening to this video may cause severe hearing loss, divorce, torn laughter muscles...

I played it for my Dad. I won't mention what he suggested you do with those pipes. I'll be watching your progress. :D

  • You realise that years from now, when you can actually play them, this will come back to haunt you. Meanwhile, I hope you don't mind that I laugh just a wee bit...

Oh, god! I'm sending THIS to all my enemies!

(Collapses on the floor and dies of laughter.)

  • Glad you enjoyed it. I'm a little better now, must get round to updating. I laugh out loud sometimes

  • ya dont play pakistan pipes....YUCK!

  • You have got to be the worst bagpiper I've ever heard - new or not. Tune your drones for chrissake and take some lessons. Also, please post another video when you can actually play. Keep up the good work???

  • BTW Ive heard competitive pipers on poly pipes that sound fantastic! Anything is better than paki rosewood..

  • get blackwood pipes, they'll sound better. keep practicing

  • When I win the lottery and get a bigger house maybe we'll go authentic... What are your views on polypenco?

  • I like em because in the 20 degree funerals they work great and you dont have to worry about cracking the wood -because they're plastic!... Good thinking there...

  • try to get more air in the bag while you are playing, i know its hard, i'm al level 2 piper and just started on the full set of pipes, (and i know, its not easy!)try a good clean strike on your attack to get the drones up and going with relative ease, then fill the bag to it's max and keep the air pressure on the chanter steady and strong, it will get the tone quality up. but for a couple of months practice, thats ok. keep it up.

  • Thanks for the tip. it seems only to be available on VHS, does he do a DVD?

  • get a copy of Jim McGillivray's "pipe's up" video. It will teach you how to tune like a pro.

    Keep at it!

  • The bag is OK, I have seasoned it and it doesn't leak at all. Tuning, however, is another story! watch out for a progress update in a few weeks!

  • Plug the ends of you bass and outside drones, leaving your middle drone running. Try tuning to your low A until you don't hear anymore wave pattern. Play sustained notes making sure your pressure keeps the drone and chanter in tune. One thing with air perssure: Since you have a Pakistani bagpipe, the bag may be of poor quality and leaking like a sieve along the seam. Even the best piper would have trouble working against huge air leaks.

  • Watching the Video I came to the same conclusion. when I play at home I miss a lot of what is happening. I am struggling with the drone tuning, I'm very conscious of not hacking the neighbours off so playing is for short intervals only. - Not the quietest of instruments.

  • I think it's out of tune. Make sure you keep the pressure constant. When you blow air in, blow your arm out. Don't let off the pressure. I look forward to seeing more videos and seeing improvement.

    Mike

  • Please be very carefull to never turn the chanter by the bottom. The wood can twist and shatter in your hands.

  • Thanks for the advice, I am a beginner,so bear with me!! hopefully I will show an improvement each time /i post a video.

  • Another instance of outstanding Scots bravery. I'm really looking forward to going on holiday with you. I think maybe you should keep the day job for the moment.
