nice exhaust man...i have a 2001 mustang v6 also and im thinking of getting a SpinTech side exit exhaust, but on the SpinTech website i couldnt figure out how to get the optional Cobra R tips so if you or anybody for that matter could help me that would be great....thanks

Dude, What kind of muflers do you have? Chek out my video, dynomax muflers make the v6 sound realy nice, not as loud as flowmasters but that's a good thing for a daily driver.

@geichrismer pop your hood and look on the right side of your engine where your strut tower is, there should be a black plastic box that you can take the lid off of. if you have your car manual book you can find out which fuse goes to which sound/light. just match up what fuse goes to your seatbelt sensor and remove it from the black box. i forget exactly what fuse mine was to remove, but im sure you'll find it its real simple
I never expected it to sound like a V8, it does improve the sound from the V6, The only engine i would drop in it would be a 3.5 Duratech and supercharge it, still it wont have the V8 sound but it would have good power for a v6
yea i want to keep my car street legal here in CA, i dont see how the exits been on the sides rather than the back would give more hp. less pipes? not really if you still have the mufflers, cus the pipes go forward so they can have that angle exit.
all cars and trucks ect. have the ability to putt out more horse power by freeing up the intake and the exhaust, or "letting it breath", flow master mufflers for instance create back pressure that creates horse power ur motor pretty much already has.

are you talking about the Roush? side exhaust? I always liked that setup but for it to look good it needs the full kit (exhaust, side skirts, front and rear bumper) if not i think the lines get lost, i need a front Roush bumper and the Cobra R hood and i will be done with the body look.

In Top Gear the corvette Z06 finished the lap in 1.22.4 and the murcielago in 1.19.8 and the murcielago its 300k more than the Z06. RWD vs AWD. give that extra 300k and in a few mods the corvette would beat that time, and the rest of the money you can put it to improve material quality and reduce weight.

Refresh: True Dual side exhaust with Cobra R like tips. I added K&N CAI on the car, when i did the video if I'm not mistaken i had spark plug problems that's why i didn't punch it hard.
I never wanted to try to sound like a V8 i cant do that i need 2 cylinders more to get that rumble/sound.

Maybe the best buy this year... but not next year. GT get's a 5.0l DOHC Direct-inject V8 w/ 400hp (similar power, but cleaner and more efficient), the V6 will get a 3.5L like the Camaro with similar power.
It's possible, idk if they're making a Direct-Injection 3.7L. But, if they are, I wouldn't doubt it. I also wouldn't doubt seeing a mustang with a tuned Taurus SHO engine.
most ive gotten out of a V8 is 35MPG...on highway with cruise set at 65mph. Most I've gotten out of a V6 is 43MPG...same thing...the trick is...through the gears dont take it to around 1,700 RPM and change gear, when you get to 4th and get on the highway, take it to 2000RPM and set the cruise at 65MPH :D

i got a 2000 v6 with dual flowmaster no x pipe after cat on turn downs and it has more of a rumble its more throutie rough v8 sound! look into getting that its less expensive at a muffler shop and sounds better

i got a 01 3.8 with razzi kit borla side exit and its lowered, havent encountered any speed bumps yet tho, i do touch when i hit a bump but jus the kit
you need a really big turbocharger, that way no one will know its a V6 until you open the hood. when you pass them, all they will hear is a jet turbine.
to be honest man i love the exhuast set up, it is beautiful, the only problem is the cats and the need for a good O/R H-pipe. On my old V6 before i swapped to a GT, i had an offroad H with Flowmaster 40 series and the thing sounded like a V8.

Well mustangs have 2 collectors and 2 cats. When you do longtubes or even shorty headers you end up getting rid of the 2 collectors. So you still have 2 cats helping you pass smog unless the person gets rid of both the 2 collectors and the 2 cats.
As for the video it sounds like the car doesn't have a complete intake to make the car sound less ricer-like. But at least he did a good job making it look nice.
V8s get decent gas mileage, shit my 71 comet with a 302 gets 20mpg on the freeway... that ain't too bad, it's got a nice 650 carb among other things.. So :P

lol well if it was EFI i would a friends 03 GT got 32 MPG on a 4 hour freeway drive, my 1990 GT with a cam forged bottom end and P&P heads n intake makes it to about 28 MPG on freeway and 18 ion town.

Dude. I have a 2001 Mustang and like i Love the GT rumbles. I thought about putting the duel exhaust on mine, which is also a V6, but i didnt think it would sound as good. But dude this is bad ass. I dunno if i should put some money into the V6, or save for the GT. I dont care if its 2005+ GT or even the same model as this one. Any ideas? Great Vid.

i got a 2000 v6 with dual flowmaster no x pipe after cat on turn downs and it has more of a rumble its more throutie rough v8 sound! look into getting that its less expensive at a muffler shop and sounds better

Hey I respect you for apologizing to Cabo2k, but why would you even say that in the first place. I drive a V6 and its a sweet ride. You know not everybody has the money to go buy a cobra. You probably grew up in a rich family so they just baby you all your life so you always got what you want, you know some of us have to work for a living. I'm sure your not loving that mustang when comes time to pay the insurance and taxes on it, doesn't matter tho your parents probably pay for it anyways.

Well thats what most people think when they first meet me. When i was 15 I got my first job, and now im 17. Since then I have paid for everything done to my car, my clothes, room redecorations, gas, i love shoes so those also, and i actually contributed to buying gifts for my family this past christmas. I did not buy my cobra though, that was bought by my grandpa after he retired because he wanted to buy me my first car. And I also just recently bought a new macbook pro with my earnings

Yea the only reason I think I flamed on that guy was because I work at a performance shop and I'm always around supras, fbodies, vettes, 350s and we have a shop R33 skyline that were building up to see what it can do. But I appreciate you understanding. I just cant stand not doing anything with my life. I couldn't sit at home and play video games after school until midnight and then go back to school. Thats what the weekends are for. I'm a pretty serious person when it comes to work and money

Thanks, yea well in terms of gas i know some GTs that give the same gas millage as V6, i have no idea why but its different from car to car, and thats besides the driver and how heavy is the foot lol. if you d get one get the new Mustang that is coming out, looks way better, personally i might wait for the new Cobra that should be coming out 2010 Sweet car.

to be honest man i love the exhuast set up, it is beautiful, the only problem is the cats and the need for a good O/R H-pipe. On my old V6 before i swapped to a GT, i had an offroad H with Flowmaster 40 series and the thing sounded like a V8.

Well mustangs have 2 collectors and 2 cats. When you do longtubes or even shorty headers you end up getting rid of the 2 collectors. So you still have 2 cats helping you pass smog unless the person gets rid of both the 2 collectors and the 2 cats.
As for the video it sounds like the car doesn't have a complete intake to make the car sound less ricer-like. But at least he did a good job making it look nice.

V8s get decent gas mileage, shit my 71 comet with a 302 gets 20mpg on the freeway... that ain't too bad, it's got a nice 650 carb among other things.. So :P

lol well if it was EFI i would a friends 03 GT got 32 MPG on a 4 hour freeway drive, my 1990 GT with a cam forged bottom end and P&P heads n intake makes it to about 28 MPG on freeway and 18 ion town.

the tips came with the SpinTech kit, it cost a bit more but they look better than the ones the kit comes originally.
why i didnt get another car cus i just love mustangs, and i wanted a new car.

thank you for all the comments goods and bads. i didnt go with a V8 cus insurance and price, and i like my spintech i dont like Flows that much. i never planed to sound like a V8, that will never happen, plus i have received several comments about my exhaust setup from hot rods and people looking at my car when i step on the gas.
the video could have sound better, but at the time i had problems with bad spark plugs.

OMG people just because it says FLOWMASTERS doesn't mean its the best. i can get soo much better exhaust that isn't flowmaster 40 seriers, yall should seriously come out and learn more about exhaust
FLOWMASTERS don't flow very well, actually just slightly better than a stock mustang gt exhaust, and they sound pretty bad compaired to others out there..
also its actually a very nice sound you have there don't listen to other people they are just envious of your car.
