  • some one gave this kid way too much lsd

  • hmm... his dad reminds me of Greg Heffly's dad from the Diary Of A Wimpy Kid movie

  • i love this movie :) , my dad wouldnt give a damn about my adventure he be like weres that money i lend ya for thos nails ehh ? ehhhh ? lol

  • He never did get those nails, but it's okay, because reading books makes you a bad ass.

Now that I have read a Horror, Fantasy, AND Adventure, I can go off jumps with my bike, and climb ladders, as wells as sleep in tree-houses unharmed.

This movie is the best acid trip I've ever had. :D

  • I remember when I was a kid watching this Mr. Hyde scared me. But this was one of my favorite movies. kids need to watch these kinds of movies

  • He never went to the hardware store

  • And so, Richard went from being a safety-obsessed social pariah to a crazy book-loving boy who still didn't make any friends, but at least he grew up to be a librarian. Except he still talks to the books every now and then. But that's OK.

  • hmm lol i know its impossible but if all that stuff would have happened to that scared kid he'd be traumatized now haha, he'd probably never go near a book for the rest of his life, thinking that they will start talking to him haha. Just joking, great movie thx for uploading!

  • really miss this film since i was a kid too....thanks for uploading

  • I once got caught out in a storm and I stayed at the local drug store until it calmed down. I went home to see the power was still out and my folks were playing cards. I raised an eyebrow and asked "what if I had been out in that and hurt?" and they replied "nah, we knew you were smart. and we didn't wanna waste gas money just to come home and find you camped out in the backyard" I replied "well make me a tree-house so I won't have to"

we had watched this movie before the storm hit

  • probably not a good idea to leave a kid like that in the unfinished tree house...well, at least herbert isn't there neighbor.

  • @Reala13 LOL love the Family Guy allusion XD

  • omkg this film brings back so meny memoryes! =)

god wot happend to fillms like this?? like the classics, atleast they got kids thinking it wasnt all shering an y not to use scissors XD

  • So how many of us went to see the new Toy Story?

  • The end is so funny.

  • i bet you that little shit never returned them either. rofl

  • This is good movie not like today's crap with boring stuff and continuations pagemaster awesome just one Cinderella 3 of them Shrek 3 of them I mean are most of these continued films even needed?

  • Pretty stingy library if it only lets you check out two books

  • @Rubystars1000 lol i was just thinking that :P

  • man i remember when cartoons were actaully good wacthing movies like this only make me want to be a little kid again. To bad the crap they try to pass out as good tv sucks , and only makes me grateful that i was born in 1991.

  • That library is bad ass.

  • at 0:55..... is he looking at kid's ass..???? xD

  • @12MaNueL96 Have you been watching Nostalgia Critic, by any chance? XD

  • it was good.

  • totally agreen with what METALmARiOKID91 said ,, this movie brings me back lol i loved this movie as a kid and i still do

the little audio at the beginning warmed my heart lolz

  • This film is, without a doubt, one of my most cherished memories from childhood! This movie has a wonderful message that all of life can be found within the pages of books, and they're waiting for you to bring them to life. It truly is a classic family film that I hope will stand the test of time, and one that I will definetely share with my children.

  • Horror kissed Adventure? That's just too funny. It looks like Richard has finally gotten over his fears and need for statistics.

  • The librarian definitely lives a double life as the Pagemaster. You know he does. I have the feeling that Richard will keeping coming back to the library to visit his friends after they're due back in two weeks, and maybe the librarian can become his mentor! Wow, this could be a sequel! Wow!

  • Creepy librarian rape face is pedobear approved *thumbs up*

  • this movie got me into reading! <3

  • 1:41 (splat) the end of the movie...

    He learned nothing.

  • Amazing Kids movie , when I have kids there soo watching this 5/5

  • that creepy look the librarian gave him as he was running away did it for me. :54

  • i love the part at 0:25 when christopher lloyd asks him who he promised. you just know he knows exactly what he's talking about

  • 4:00- Aww. I miss the old days when kids' movies (and TV shows) didn't try so hard to be "hip and edgy" that they had no heart. This may not be a masterpiece, but one thing's for sure; it's full of heart!

  • why would his mother take his glasses??? a blind kid in a tree house with a lantern next to his feet is never a good... if there is a fire how will he get down?

  • @michellegoober Lol so true

  • i miss the good old days where you can sleep outside in your tree house and not worry about some creep get at you :(

  • Comment removed

  • Lmfao

  • @KingOfPlugs Pahaha!!! XD

I never thought of that! fabulous comment :P

  • Where'd his coat go? At the beginning, he tore it off and threw it on the floor in the rotunda when he saw that the paint he had wiped on it was spreading.

  • idk lol animation took it?? lol

  • Adventure: You know what would make this a happy ending? A kiss

    Horror: 'Laughs' Ok

    Smooch

    Adventure: I MEANT FROM HER

    Lol

  • i love this film :D this is a great movie , better than others films for kids T_T

  • I've loved this movie since I first saw it stoned with my friend in the theater. Now I love it as a mom and completely stober! :) Thanks for sharing. Could you upload it to Limewire so I can have it?? :)

  • I LOVE how the librarian in the beginning says, "It's horror for you, boy!" and in the end it's horror Richard almost has to leave behind. Gives the film depth and continuity. The "librarian" knew all along what was going to happen. ALSO! His parents take away his glasses and leave him sleeping in a tree house after a really bad storm. Plus, he'd fallen in the library (which they didn't know). What if he had a concussion?? They'll come out in the morning and he won't wake up! 0.0

  • "That's impossible!"

    ...lol?

  • class film

  • 3:50

"Come 'ere handsome, why are you crying?"

    "Because... I have FRIENDS!"

OMG sooo cute! Horror is so my favourite!

  • lol yeah mine too

  • honestly what happnd to films for kids like this today?.......

  • @METALmARiOKID91 there are still a few. Pixar and Dreamworks are still making quite a few really good movies like this.

  • @METALmARiOKID91 they ended up on nikalodeon and such what not channels.

  • this film is classic,

  • ROFL I love how they just leave him outside!

  • This brings back so many memories me and my dad use to watch this all the time when I was kid right before he passed away. Brings back alot of old emotions.

  • @jmfigone209 its beacuse you fail

  • @jmfigone209

You're dad passed away?...oh man, sorry about that dude...my dad is the one who introduced me to all these Disney classics, from Aladdin, Brave little Toaster, Jungle Book, Toy Story, Lion King etc.....seems like our Dads are a relfection of memories....take it easy man =)

  • @jmfigone209 [respect]I feel so sorry for you. My father died three months ago, and while I can't completely understand your pain (as no one can), I know how you feel. I hope we may both see them again. 'Til then, we have the memories, and the lessons learned. And the things we know they enjoyed. *sigh*[/respect]

  • thats a horrible idea to let a kid sleep in a tree house at night its like hecka cold at night!

  • and she took his glasses.

  • this movie bring back so many memories

  • It's been over 12 years i saw this movie, and still awesome!

  • ha i actually feel like reading now

  • lmao my parents would have kicked my ass if i was that young and never told them where i was!

  • haha let him sleep outside after it rained like crazy! haa

  • That was hliarous.

  • Such a great movie! Why can't movie companies be this original anymore?

And by original I don't mean mixing a dozen stories together... just make something new that no one's thought of yet please!!!

  • haha those books are dense, he'll never be able read them

  • oh also the pagemaster is and the librarian is played by Christopher Lloyd which someone did mention starred in back to the future.

  • 8 years ago i last saw this movie...and still it creates such a spark within me! i feel 8 again!

  • isnt the ET thing dangerous?

i mean he could slip and fell... not a good msg...lol

its a great movie... i try to read books now and then...

  • That's a stupid rule. At my library, you can check out as many things as you want.

  • It's a movie lol

  • I know, at my county library system, you can check out up to 50.

  • i havent seen this movie in 6 years, but i just thought about it today and i really wanted to c it again. still an awesome movie!

  • 1:35 = ET moment.

  • does anyone else think the pagemaster is the librarian guy

  • They were both voiced by the same person.

  • yes and did u noticed thats the guy from back to the future

  • the pagemaster is spoken by....the librarian...so...I guess that's up to what you decide.

  • lol

  • ROFLXD he looks liek this kid i know when we runs with the books

  • 4:16- 4:27 lol XD

  • He should have done that WITH his helmet on.. even though he did go trough all that xD

  • i love this movie thanks 4 the upload

  • wait- she took his glasses! In the morning it's gonna be like 'Oh, morning. I'm so glad I gave up all that mumbo jumbo about heights and whoops!' *walks out of treehouse and falls*

  • Moral of the story. Take a socially inept child and turn them onto books as their only friends instead of statistical facts and obsesive compulsive tendencies so they can become even more distant from the rest of the world and voila! Serial Killer.

  • Clever approach. More like, show them there's more to life than risk and danger and imminent death. And books are a portal to that self-discovery.

  • Yeah sure if you want to take the best case scenario approach. Me i'm a realist.

  • Well, realistically that's against the character's development. Now that he's not stuck in his head anymore- he's brave and taking new chances- he's more likely to fall into "normalcy" and develop real friendships, because he's not as insecure about his future.

  • I don't think they give you enough to go on at the end to assume that much. He clearly still has bad enough head trauma from his fall in the library to still have hallucinations of cartoon books who are now his only friends in the real world. Unchecked that could easily evolve into certain levels of psychosis later on and with the different personalities of the books it could very well be developing into a form of schizophrenia that has just been dormant in his genetics the entire time.

  • wow....are u like a doctor or something? i didnt even understand half of that lol

  • He's like House...for YouTube haha

  • Don't you think you're being a bit of a pessimist? It's only a kid's film, after all!

  • Well of course i'm being pessimistic. Only in good fun though trust me. I grew up with films like this and have always loved them. Sometimes I just like to look at them from a more "real world" what-if viewpoint. I find it's interesting to see other people's thoughts on the subject as well.

  • "You know what would make this a happy ending? , a kiss"

    "Oo-okay"

    -Kiss-

    "I meant from her!"

I loved that last part when I was kid.

  • wow bad parenting much? lets let out son sleep in a tree house where there's no ledge to catch him should he roll towards the window-door way

  • "Come here handsome...Why are you crying?"

"Because I have friends!" lol i laughed my face off!

  • yeah that part is so sweet!

  • Richard at 0:35 ---"LOOK, just give me the fucking book!!"

  • hahahaha ...

  • perfect hahah

  • lol xD

  • I've always liked this movie, but I just realized something after all these years...where was Richard's jacket? I ♥ this movie!

  • He took it off when the paint droped on it and started to spread. But he did have it on when he passed out, didn't he... ?

    Curious, very curious...

  • That's what I've been wondering. At the beginning when the paint started to fall from the ceiling he tore it off when he realized that the paint on it was spreading. Then he was engulfed in the paint and turned into a cartoon. The jacket was gone so I thought it was still in the noncartoon world. When Cartoon Richard falls back into Noncartoon Richard his coat is still gone. You'd think it'd still be there wouldn't you. I mean coats don't just disappear and he didn't take it home with him.

  • @SDBluemoon well yea the jacket disappeared but the 3 books came out of now where when he woke up because before he fell he had no books so it's all just not explained if that helped :)

  • omg! i realized something............. moives nowadays suck! but on the bright side disney is making a 2D movie an dnot a stupid fricking 3D one can't wait for that! Also thank u very much for putting this on u know i had a fantasy doll thing it was like a stuffed fantasy and she came with a wand and i would pretend she would zap crap with it and then i got adventure and horror then it was waaaaay more fun

  • ahhh the miracle of music. that scene where he makes the jump wouldn't have been nearly as suspensefull without the background music

  • LOL shud a nerd....''YYYEEES!!''

  • yap yap its a classic!!! i love old movies like that!!! movies for kids suck these days!!! i am so gonna make my kids watch them good old movies!

  • This is so true....Kids nowadays want to become like Miley Cyrus or Zac Efron, they don't develop any imagination.

I remember when I first saw this I was all emotioned and I wanted to draw dragons and pirate maps...Man that is what I call a good movie, something that stais inside you never to leave you, even if you go to the university already...

I am seriously thankful for this movie and to the guy that uploaded it...thanks...

  • i know what you 19 and i still LOVE this it still tuches me its nice now a-days the moives are well they just suck because of all the suff they cant say or do like the race and sex (you need one colored and atlest 2 to 5 ratsho girl to boys) i count if you exculd the faires 1 girl they didnt care it was the story line they cared about and thats how it should be

  • you are soooooooooooo right!

  • Yep, my nephew got hooked on the classics. Now he won't go back to watching any of the new garbage they offer.

  • Definitely true. There's no other way to say it but a ton of kids these days don't really know what a good movie is. I mean, barely any of them have seen any old classic movies, and Disney Princess movies don't count as I'm willing to bet that every girl in the country has seen a DP movie. Not many kids watch movies like this anymore. Nope. These days it's all about High School Musical and Hannah Montana. Not old movies like Homeward Bound and Lion King.

  • So true! I miss the old days of Hocus Pocus and The Fox and The Hound.

  • Agree'd. I was in the shops one day when I heard a woman say "Ahh, theres Mary Poppins, what a godo movie." and her kid was like "Who Mary Poppins?"

  • LOL you ruined the movie but I cant stop laughing.....

  • it's from the nostalgia critic

  • hahahahahahaha

  • this movie was made back in the days of magical movies which this movie is the most magical ever . Movies these days are not magical at all i believe kids movies are getting worse

  • funny, when i saw this movie as a kid, it never occured to me to pick up a book and start reading.

  • Lol 0:54 as he runs away

    couldent stop laughing

  • this movie makes me cry every time i watch it!!

  • Christopher Lloyd ...Yes<3

  • " I HAVE A TALENT FOR GUESSING WHAT PEOPLE NEED. JUST THIS ONCE."

    my favorite line.

  • that line also makes me smile. every time.

  • "I MEANT FROM HER!!" XD

That last line always gets me cracking up.

  • Macaulay Culkin Is The Best Actor Ever.

  • that was a nice ending to a film I must say that christopher lloyd is a great actor.

  • 'why u crying?'

    'cos i have friends'

    naww freakin love Horror <3

  • 1:06 = pedofile. fact.

  • Why'd the mom take his glasses, then leave him in the treehouse? How's he supposed to get down? o.O

  • i thought the same thing. lol

  • (*Starts laughing hysterically*)

    I never thought about that!

The following morning's gonna be pretty awkward!

  • the dad put it under the tree house so he wouldn't fall out of it anymore

  • Just watched this because the Nostalgia Critic reviewed it. Wow, the librarian is creepier than I remember

  • i thought the ladder was on the outside of the tree house not underneath it

  • love thiss fill childdhood memoriess :d

  • when Lloyd looked at him and smiled, thats when i had the thought that he was The Pagemaster. The books were themselves, except they were alive. Richie was himself. That was a good movie. underrated among disney classics. love the part live action part cartton formula. story was very creative too. i wish there was a sequel of sorts or another Pagemaster movie, maybe with different books and everything.

  • this is not a disney film...but i grew up wd this one!

  • same was a favourite when i was a kid

  • i now this sounds mean, but what if he would of messed up on the ramp landing, but anyway legendary movie that will stand the tesy of time thank you

  • I know, right? He would've gone right back to where he was at the beginning of the film. Poor kid would never take risks again. lol

  • Yeah, you'd think that wouldn't you. He should have been horrified at the end, but they make it out so that now that he's nearly been killed by Mr. Hyde, faced Moby Dick, kidnapped by pirates, and eaten by a dragon, then the world doesn't seem so bad after all. In reality, he'd probably never enter that library again, probably have nightmares about being trapped in a book or a book that he's reading, or maybe even be scared to go to school because of the textbooks.

  • youre only sayin that because youre too dumb to understand great literary classics in this movie

  • such a beautiful movie....

  • lol i love the bit when horror kisses adventure its hilarious lmao!!

  • Was Richard Tyler played by Macaulay Culkin???

  • Comment removed

  • Yes

  • I wish *I* had a talent for guessing what people needed.

  • THANKS FOR POSTING THE WHOLE THING!

  • "You know what would make this a happy ending? A kiss..."

    "Oh... okay... *kissing noise*"

    "ARRRGH! I MEANT FROM HER!"

    XD lol

  • same i remembered it differntly but fucking good

  • 1:05

    Christopher Lloyd kicks ass :P

  • ROFLMAO, No, this wasn't him. He was based off the librarian from the very old show Reading Rainbow.

  • oh lol

    i was close enough

  • Yeah, he has similar mannerisms. Every over-the-top librarian was used for the Chicken(lover).

  • ya i never thought of it that way

  • i used to watch this as a kid all the time!

but i remembered it a little differently.

  • Hey man, I know just what you mean.

  • I loved this movie to tears.I remember I rented it from blockbuster and paid a late fee because I kept it too long.XD

  • lol that would have been so funny if he crashed when he jumped the ramp

  • ROFLMAO, you bastard XD
