  • The story of GM: "Hey, we just built the perfect car! Let's destroy its brand altogether.

  • I own this car, red gt every option. This car doesn't come to the US anymore because everyone ASKED for it but when it got here, no one BOUGHT it! Typical US car buyers. The market collapse didnt help either. I am GLAD it doesn't come here anymore because now I wont see someone else driving my car everyday like a camry or accord. EVERYONE loves it and complete strangers walk up and ask about it alot. Maybe Chevy will make a public version after it produces the police version a couple years.

  • @chfpontiac The market collapse and $4 gas a few months after it came out is why no one bought it.

A Chevy version based off the VF Commodore will be coming in 2012, it's already been approved by higher ups and has a lot of support from GM Pres. Mark Reuss. Worry no more everybody.

  • @seymorass93 Don't be surprised if they call it the Lumina, because this is the badge it wears in the Middle East. You can already buy Bowtie badges and grilles in Australia for the VE, because Holden build them that way and export them ready done.

  • @Mechknight73 And don't be surprised if they don't, since the Lumina name in the U.S. has as much equity in it's name as the Cobalt.

  • @seymorass93 I was aware of the Lumina name in the US before I saw Commodores wearing it. Occasionally Holden will release a "Limited Edition Commodore Lumina;" one of those production specials where they add a couple of extra grand's worth of equipment and still charge the saem a s a base model. I knew of the Lumina name because of "Days of Thunder."

  • that's the old America Adam. What's is this the French Royal Court of 1701, Phillip the Bourbon King ??? Not everyone wants to live a life of extravagance and rare opulance.... We need to live simple lives and still have a little fun ! Nobody needs to have more than a few cars, anything beyond that is just making up for lack of confidence and lack of manhood ! Besides you don't even know how to drfit so your beyond amateur when it comes to driving fast ! Slower traffic keep right ! Adnam!

  • Carolla not slamming America cars anymore

  • They should just renamed it the "Pontiac Commodore".

Now just wait if Ford is willing to get the Falcon on North American streets.

  • @Max8Jizzy Too busy with that thing that resembles a crossbreed of the F150 and the Crown Vic, the Interceptor. So they tell me, it was a concept car that is meant to replace the Crown Vic, but aby other stats I don't know. Although if Ford USA actually did do what GM did and let Ford Australia design their world rear drive platform, that would be more likely. Main reason why they don't is the alleged tooling costs for LHD versions. The VE was tooled that way from day 1.

  • Thanks for sharing. Don't know how i missed that episode.

  • I think you will find that so many Aussies get on here and make the point of it being an Aussie car is simply beacuse so many Americans claim it to be an American car.

And I agree Top Gear Australia is the biggest load!

  • that is a deal who can afford the payments

  • Isnt thAT bloke from the man show???

  • Yup Adam Carolla from the Man Sho also gonna be a host on US Top Gear

  • Top Gear Australia sucks... the english one is a shitload bette.. but i think that having him might work... by the way keep a look out for the chasers war on everything on G4tv!!! its a good watch!!!

  • ....and Slower than the Falcon XR6T

  • cybr? check out muh profile and msg me on M.S.N!!

omfg lol that's so funny!!! xd

  • Its badged engineering. So take one car and market it in different markets. Change it up brand name, maybe engine and some tweeks but most of its the same. It cuts costs a lot, that's why the domestics do it a lot. Yes other companies do it too but I don't think as much as American companies. Jaguar is no longer owned by Ford. Its owned by Tata Tata Motors.

  • I for one am glad australia is bringing good cars to the USA I hope they bring even more!

  • whats wrong with sharing!! holden/pontiac...great car in Australia or U.S. Just the car we need on our streets tho, best bang for your buck might very well be the G8

  • fastest car under 30k

  • holden and pontiac are both gm too

  • guy talking at 3:50-4:20ish or so is so true lol, I think not just american but alot of nationalities are like that :D want more steak, horsepower and toys than we really need :D

  • even longer really.. same basic car since 1988 LOL

  • adam corolla is a douche...he thinks he's funny when really he's just a fat-headed-S.O.B...on a lighter note, the G8 is a bad ass car, i want one now!

  • i don giv a fuk if its assie

    its usa model now

  • vibhb, No it's not coz the US market collapsed and we're sending our cars to the middle east, where they do have money.

  • I scrolled down this page and to no surprise..another Aussie claiming its theirs. Ok guys, enough. The steering wheel is on the other side but more important..the heart of the car..the nice 6.0 under the hood..is OURS. It says "G8 GT" not "Holden". Get over it.

  • I could not agree with you more. We all love the G8, but on ever posting there are Aussies that must rambling: "The G8 is really a Holden from Australia"...Okay, we are aware of that fact, can we please move on!!!!

  • @courtstone Doesn't gm own holden i believe...

  • @DynastyQg9 Yep GM does own Holden...I just think they should bring the holden's over here as holdens....whats so wrong with that?

  • @courtstone as soon as you American's stop calling it your own, then we'll shut up...until then we'll keep reminding you how shit American made cars are...apart from the corvette, how would you yanks like us calling a corvette Australian just because its sold here... understand now?? probably not.

  • Something wrong with DVR?

  • Thanks for this. It's appreciated.

  • It's only taken the US 40 years to find what Australia has been doing with sedans. Hope the G8 does well, it's a great thing.

  • um what?

  • @JamesOnscotch America still seems to think the ute (aka pickup in America) was an American invention too. Really it was born of a suggestion from An Australian farmer, and a design by a brilliant Ford Australia designer named Lewis Brandt. It was Henry Ford's idea to bring it to America, but only after Ford Australia had already put them into production in Australia

  • GM is back Jap lovers!! Deal with it!!!

  • I know I know....I had some probs with the DVR...had to improvise :)

  • how dare they race with a baby in the backseat. Thats not right.

  • Not to worry,Adam has his little girl in

    a helmet.....but no seatbelt!

  • omg, I really hope u r joking. The baby is G8NationCom's(the capper *hint*). it's a cam, so there is background noise. Think before typing shit and looking like an idiot.

  • @pinocolado

i really hope that is a joke

  • good video miised it today .. nice backround noise
