The El Quseir was two-thirds the size of the USS Liberty, did not have clear naval markings (GTR 5) and would not have been flying a huge US flag, which is on display at the NSA Museum. Israeli reconnaissance planes had flown several times over the USS Liberty hours before the attack. They knew who it was.

Watch the documentary "Dead in the water"... they reveal that the US war ship that got the message for help automatically thought it was Egypt that did it and they sent out war planes with ONLY Nukes on them to bomb Cairo... only once they understood it was Israel who did it they called them off and tried to send out Planes with out nukes, but they were stopped.
