A typical loaded car of coal/grain weighs about 130 tons. A 100 car unit train would therefore weigh about 13,000 tons. So where do you get "Million tons". And the GE AC6000 series weigh around 200 - 210 tons.

In the second place, you would know these weights as every consist you "run" with has it printed on your consist or worklist. You would know train tonnages front and back and in and out. I meet railfans all the time and welcome them on our property as long as they are respectful for what we do and how we do it. A suggestion. Don't settle for just being an engineer. Go to school. Get an education. Major in logistics/transportation. Then when you graduate so many more opportunities await. Railroading needs new young guys with fresh ideas.

When I worked on the Tijuana & Tecate, we would do that to a car or pickup about every two weeks. They always seemed to stop with the front bumper about 6 inches past the fouling point. Mostly we would pop them onto the sidewalk.
