Ufc to me is like the floyd mayweather of an organization tree,It really is not the best thing out there but is entertaining enough and gets enough promotion to be "called" the "best" thing out there...I think ufc did bad for mma by allowing brock to get a title shot SO EARLY and he actually won which in my eyes hurts mma a little bit if you look at it from the perspective of that a man who is from wwe with wrestling background who is donkey kong one dimensional goes in gang buster and wins.??

speaking of all these guys the UFC SHOULD sign... how in the fuck is EDDIE ALVAREZ not signed to the UFC??? he seems like the perfect mold for the company especially since they tryin 2 break the latino market and he's already a top ranked fighter. is he just trying to build his value up/get better before he jumps over or do they have some issues? if theres anyone they need to sign other then the obvious (fedor, arlovski etc.) then it's that kid..

To be honest, if I were Eddie Alvarez, I would keep fighting in DREAM.

1. He will get A LOT more money per fight at this point in his career.

2. He is a superstar over there.

3. There are some VERY good fights for him outside of the UFC including a match against Hansen, and Aoki.

Alvarez in the UFC would be marketed very little and probably take a drastic pay cut. He would be a highly under-rated little fish, in a great big sea.

Alvarez is top 10 but I would rather see him stay in japan.

I think Fitch signed the regular contract. He claims he didn't have a problem with it, but the way Dana handled things.

I know all of AKA is still with the UFC. The whole charade has been wiped clean like it never happened.

AKA is still working with Dana. Their guys are still in the UFC and have fights coming up.

he said its not about the contract, but how dana approached him.. if u think about it i dont think even nba players get paid for nba video games and if guys like gsp and penn are signing then they probably should too. i think the lifetime thing is exagerated and the contract is mainly in place to protect the UFC from being sued for profits on the game, since they are using the fighters personality and names to promote it. im not sayin they shouldnt get paid but sometimes u gotta sacrifice

NBA and others get paid. 4 sure. People who make 100 million don't give away their face for free. My uncle is Abdullah The Butcher. (a pretty popular wrestler). And I know for a FACT that he got paid for his image in video games and if wasn't for a lifetime contract.

Also, it was life. Fitch made it very clear. They wanted 5-10 years and Dana wouldn't budge on life.

Sort of an oversimplification.

A: They are getting paid, they are entitled to 10% royalties for the $ their likeness makes. The contract is the first reliable money UFC has been able to offer fighters.

B: Most likeness contracts ARE lifetime. You generally don't reach a point in an organization where they are legally unable to exploit your image if you worked with them under contract. WWE can still use Brock in WWE video games.

The really weird thing is the exclusivity. It's confusing.

i just checked out sherdog and they say that fitch is bak.the ufc must have seen the impact that one unhappy fighter can make. he could have started a chain reaction and shook the pillars under the ufc and potentially make them crumble.

AA was not cut from the ufc, they were trying to resign him, but affliction came and put huge money on the table.

It seems like the whole American Kickboxing Academy dont feel comfortable signing a contract like this and ultimatly will be cut. Id hate to see that cause AKA has some top contenders.
