I wouldn't simplify the path of text, I probably would use the shortcut key Ctrl + (plus key). It doesn't ruin any paths that way. Nice tut btw... I was just searching this to see if there was such a tutorial already and I guess there is.
um... I'm not really sure what you mean. Duplicating makes an identical copy of whatever is selected. This is one of the things you do all the time. I use it in this tutorial to make overlays usually. If that isn't what you wanted to know, feel free to ask again.

These tutorials are great! I like being able to go back to certain parts to see exactly what you clicked on (such as opacity). Thanks for putting these together!
