Sorry, but really nowhere near good enough for a top team, especially for the Premier League. His decision making is way too slow. You see him taking 3,4,5 touches before he picks out a pass. That's not gonna fly against the likes of Vidic, Vermaelen, etc.
@Wanturd even ronaldo makes bad passes or fails trying tricks sometimes. Look at all thegood stuff he does and that against the former CL champions. Hes the best player of the eredivisie and if you follow the eredivisie you know what hes capable of and all the former best eredivisie players that came out of the league rearly disappoint (suarez, ibrahimovic, sneijder, van der vaart, chivu, vermealen, ronaldo and many more) love to see him at liverpool with suarez. would be an amazing duo imo
@PartyPooperX Honestly though, the Eredivisie is pretty poor. Jozy Altidore has scored 5 in 5 matches for AZ. I agree that a lot of good players have come out of the Eredivisie, but it's not really a good league to compare players in.
@bchan31 The eredivisie had its time but right now its not THAT poor, the eredivisie is in top 10 best leagues according to UEFA coefficient with full of internationals and talents and Altidore scored 4 goals against a team that plays middle-bottom of the league and plays in a top 5 team ofcourse you can compare players in the league.
@PartyPooperX I think that what I'm trying to say is that some players appear to be quite good in the Eredevisie because of exactly what you're saying. There are some teams in that league that are defensively very poor, which makes certain players look better statistically than they really are. I think Ruiz is a decent player in and around the box and has had his fair share of good goals, but I do not think he's good enough to play as a real #10 for a top club.
@bchan31 But when they are statistically greater then it supposed to be (ex; suarez 30+ goals) then you could actually see when they've outgrowned the eredivisie and could actually compare with others who've gone that far since many players sees the eredivise as a startup league for their carreer. And I think Ruiz is too good for the eredivisie and well not good for the top no but for the subtop based on his CL and EL matches and I consider liverpool and tottenham as subtops imo.
