  • This is like amazing O_O

  • @loveyouinuyasha haha thanks a lot! :)

  • Okay, I've been playing for a few years and I've always noticed people putting things under the strings behind the nut. What is the purpose of this?

  • @Logantheburninator Sometimes the vibration of the guitar causes the strings to ring past the nut, resulting in a "eeeeee" sound whenever you play the guitar or drum on the guitar. It it especially noticeable when you play loudly and then mute the strings - instead of the sound cutting off, the strings are still ringing past the nut. This just mutes them. Antoine Dufour uses fancy scarves, but here I used the less classy folded up burger king napkin :)

    Thanks for watching!

  • @Rael0505 Ah...Makes sense. I guess I never really payed attention to that. I'll keep that in mind. Thanks. Ha ha.

And hey, there's nothing wrong with a BK napkin. xD

  • @Rael0505 Spot on playing by the way!

  • @Logantheburninator haha thank you man! I had Craig D'Andrea as my teacher for a few months this summer which was pretty awesome. I think i've improved a little through him. I want to put up more videos sooon haha

  • @Rael0505 Really man? That's pretty freakin' sweet. I really dig his tunes as well. And I look forward to the uploads. :D

  • great

  • Yes!!! I needed this sooo much. Too busy awakening Humanity, +I know better then to not have my MUSIC FIX for the energy to do so. You Dear have done this for me. My Dearest Friend (across the oceans) is re-energizing through getting back to his LOVE music:). I Am so happy for your saying hello, Once again. <3 to You.

  • Great job dude! I always wanted to attempt this one but it looks tough! You did good with it!

    Riley

  • That's sick man, I want to learn that song too, but it looks daunting as hell. Cool stuff, keep it up.

  • I love Andy McKee, and you by far do his songs justice :) Well done!

  • DANG I cant get enougth of this this is so freakin awsome... If only I was that good on my guitar.

  • Dude! You're playing the piano on the guitar??!!?!?!?! o.0

    lol.

  • Yes, but not as well as I should be! ;) You should totally check out more Andy McKee if you like what you see! I saw him live and recorded the whole show, it's all up on my channel

    Thanks for the nice comment!

  • @Rael0505 I totally agree with you dude, your cover needs more time to come to maturity.

  • oh yeah man, i've seen those videos from andy mckee, he is crazy. lol.

  • dude how about you do all of us a solid and post the tabs foe 3 mile bike ride on ultimate guitar

  • are ya using any special tunning or guitar? cause i play it too but it sounds too "high"

  • I play it in standard baritone (tuned to B), same as Andy. you can play it in standard E, but it'll sound higher ;) still basically the same thing

  • great job!

  • I'm still working hard on Guitar skill and hope to play like that oneday!

  • Thank you! Looking forward to more of your piano videos too ;) hope to play as well as you do some day too!

  • Hey! U played really well I would say! :)

  • aw!! i like it!! *5!!

  • Thanks a lot for watching my videos! I really appreciate it.

  • Wow nice playing =) Sounds very good.

5 Stars =) Thanks again for these kind words.

    -juli

  • have you tabs???

  • Keep it up man and you're gonna be one of the best someday.

  • why do you have a sock in your guitar?

  • That's no sock! It's a burger king napkin folded up in there. It stops the strings from ringing past the nut. sometimes if I strum hard and mute the strings they're left ringing and it really gets on my nerves :D

  • Your right hand is so fluid man I have never really felt that freedom! I'm so dependent on my pick! Great left hand stuff that you had studied through very well!

  • Thank you! I've only started messing around with fingerstyle about a year ago so I know I have a lot to learn but praise coming from you means a lot! :)

  • really nice cover my friend

  • Really tough song :-) Using guitar as drum the same time, very impressive.

  • Yeah, the Candy Rat guitarists are amazing, really creative stuff. Thanks for the nice comment, your approval means a lot to me :)

  • This is pretty impressive... nice to see how people improve over time... makes me wonder what will one do next? Keep up the good work!

  • Haha thanks so much man, it means a lot to hear there's been improvement. I think sometimes I don't notice when I've gotten a little better, but when I compare this to some of my older fingerstyle videos I can see I'm at least more comfortable with the genre than I was before.

Looking forward to more of your videos as well!

  • Sounds great broo

  • Thanks man!

  • great approach dude !

but you need to fix your timing just littile bit , and you missed some notes ,

    i hope i can see your version 2 :P

  • Thanks so much! I'll practice hard in hopes that the next attempt will be better ;)

  • Dude, I've been hoping that you'd do this song for so long.

You made my night, awesome cover :D

  • Awesome job! I love you Rael!

  • good for you for learning these! i feel like i just don't have enough time

  • You're too busy writing your own masterpieces! Thanks so much for the nice comment, I'm glad you checked it out :) I still have to work on perfecting it though!

May do Heather's Song soon :)

  • Nice d00d. I'm not much of a musician, but I do know when I like a tune. Sounding great =).

  • <3 thanks so much dood

  • you has paper stuck on the thingy thing

  • to mute the strings from ringing past the nut :D they pick up the vibrations from the neck and make this annoying "eeee" sound when I play. It drives me crazy.

  • lol cool

  • According to Antoine Dufour, it's actually "schwring".

    Nice job, Rael! :D

  • Ahahaha! I love him so much!

And thanks for the comment man, it means a lot coming from you ;) maybe I'll eventually be able to write my own stuff the way you do.

  • Tempo was a bit fast to begin, but over time you corrrected it just fine. the tapping part sounded great man! Keep it up!

  • Thank you! I'll make sure to slow the intro down in my next cover ;)
