There are some weaknesses in this performance - have to be frank. Poledouris rather was not a conductor, what is visible here (musicians are relying on the sheets only), some parts are going astray (women at 3:47 - 3:49, 5:28, brass at 5:37, 5:41 (!!!)) Nevertheless being there would be one of greatest moments in my life. Alas - this is impossible ;(

This is a 2010 re-recording, not the original sessions - Basil Poledouris was never happy with the original performance and recording of the score in Rome back in 1982, for a number of reasons. Greig McRitchie's orchestration sheets of the score still survive, and James Fitzpatrick of Tadlow Music supervised this re-recording in Prague (Nic Raine conducted).
