@TheHomestuck Not much, but ultimately Chiptune takes the old-school sound bytes and remixes them, mixing them in with other sounds, some modern, some not. Whereas 8-bit is created with the old school midi instruments, and you can really only have so many different "instruments" going on at the same time. They do sound similar though.
