Omg my comment was removed! No matter :D I remember the basic gist of what I was saying... and the fact that I came to your vid means I really luvv character.

There's some off steps in there, and your style is way different than mine. Yours looks more free movement-y, are you good at free movement? I was told the steps had to be sharp, but then different teachers. It seems too soft - you want people to look at you even if 30 people are dancing. Nice posture and flow.

man some people are harsh! I am a teacher and first and foremost I believe dance shouldn't be about being the best - it's about enjoyment. Good marks and bad marks don't mean you are a better or worse dancer than anyone else - we all have good and bad days. Examiners look far deeper than the exterior package to determine marks, but I think if it comes to comparing the marks we get alone by the level of dancer we are than we have lost what dance should be about - enjoyment!

May I have some marks? You are very god dancer BUT in character Dance you should make an ACCENT! Which meance - FIX your HEAD and EYES before START anjther FIGURE! Specially in Polish Dance!

At my ballet school you only need to do charecter up to level 5

Im doing mine a few weeks!!!! so exicted, im 13 and this is my 10th year of dancing so aniversary! Just a tip though, make sure your arms arent too balletic and careful the arms on the half break, all in all it was lovely and thankyou for posting it- you have lovely style and musicality.

u mean GRADE not level. and how could you do a grade every year since grade 6. i do grade 6 and my teacher said to get the best mark you need to do grade 6 for at least 2 years

it just depends how good you are and how fast you pick up routines and technique.

after never studying ballet before i was put straight into a grade 5 class about this time last year and am about to take my exam soon.

That's what happened to me too. But I was in the lower class. I still think that this was unfair for the other girls, but they wanted to be examined in 2 years' time.

not yet. Actually, the upper class was examined in March, and we are going to be examined in June, but it's almost the same, because next year we will be 1 class. One girl from the upper class will be examined with us, because she has broken her leg. But I think that I'll get merit.

you need to work on your epaulement and make everything more sharp and stronger.. in this dance you should look pretty snobby.. thats wat the polish were like you also need to make your movements and arms more definate. other than that you were pretty good

This is not taped at the day of the exam, actually several months before, so this is not what I did on the exam! i am very happy to get constructive critism, although this is like 4 years ago. I answer rudely if someone make a rude comment. Anyway, I think I deserved the grade that I got. Like I said, this is many years ago ;)

@BeautifulAguilera Not all ballerinas are stick-thin, you know some women have to wear a bra to be comfortable during exercise. Ballet is for everyone, not just the skinnies who do it professionally.

Ok, when you do the heel clicks dont turn your feet and bend more into the ground when you land them, you need much more style at the moment it looks very balletic, give it some attitude! Hope to see a revised version :)

The grades is from Pre Primary to Grade 8, and the ranking system is 0-39: Failed, 40-54: Pass, 55-74: Merit, 75-100: Distinction:)

Well very unclean footwork and movement and pay more attention to your arms. They're all flailing about and get your mvmts up sharper! Stronger and keep them in place! Pointe your feet and tie your hair in a bun. And who on earth wears a bra beneath her leotard. 0_o*
