pardon my ignorance but what is it that you are doing exactly with your left hand during the rewinds. you take your hand off the crossfader and do something with it. it seems as though youre controlling the revolution of the platter with your right hand, whats the left hand doing ?

the more you spin the disc the further back you will go with the rewind so whats he doing is spinning it as much as he can with the right hand and then use the left one to line the buttons up to the right place again
