I know they're both futuristic but I have to draw a line between a futuristic fantasy and something that tries to be more real like Planetes. You should have expected something different from the series other than ridiculous outlooks on the future and over the top action scenes. in my eyes they belong in two different categories all together. The two really should not be compared.

Yaoi-Yaoi or BL(Boy's Love) is meant for young girls or women.

Shounen-Ai-Shounen-Ai is meant for gay guys

Actually, alot of my friends that are girls, including myself, don't like yaoi either. We find it quite disturbing, especially when your favorite character suddenly turns gay because some girl says so, like those stupid ass yaoi pairings. I can name countless yaoi pairings I ran into on accident on the net. Its not a safe place. But anyway, I guess me and my friends are in those low percentages whom don't like yaoi and are girls.

For anyone who has seen this anime and not read the manga, the anime only covers apparently the first two books, and thier are 5. The real heart of the story doesn't even start until where the anime ends. And apparently they didn't develop any of the other characters like Yuri, and Fei and her family. Read that manga.

I thought the anime was very good. Which makes me sad at how badly a lot of them bashed the anime. The reason why it's slow is cuz they're building up the story and character background. I'm actually suprised that they didn't like it.

Gravitation under exposed??? I think you could have picked a more under exposed topic, maybe Princess Tutu. Gravitation is an ok anime but I was very disappointed with how the dub turned out. It is one of the worst dubs I have seen. If you are any type of BL fan you should check out the manga though, the Robot Pandas are in it!

Gravitation isn't Yaoi. It is Shounen-ai. You're not an Otaku if you don't know the difference. Sheesh!

If your an otaku you would know it is called Boys Love (BL). Shounen-ai is a dated term, used around the '70 or '80s started by the 49ers. It not even used in Japan any more. Yaoi is used for dojinshi.

Evangelion is only praised by people who want to make themselves sound smarter when talking about Anime. Seriously sometimes when something doesn't make any sense, it's just that: Crazy and bad writing. Like the first half of Pirates 3, Matrix Revolutions and the dancing scene in Spiderman 3.

The ending. I mean sure there'll be people who'll defend it to the death saying it's the most genius thing ever, but he was forced to come out with an apology movie because enough people knew it was just rubbish. His own psycho drama took over. It's not good story telling, just someone who gave up at the end of a series and just filled in a bunch of garbage to make up for it. Yes, I do call out people who say they understand the ending of it. No you don't. Are you Anno? No. He didn't even know.

I personally don't have a problem with the last two episodes but then again I did watch the movie before them. I've never heard anyone say they're the most genuis thing ever though. I also don't see that there's anything in the last two episodes that doesn't make sense. They are the way they are because Gainax ran out of money like they did with Kare Kano and a lot of fans of the show don't like them. I still don't see what doesn't make sense about them though?
