Amen godlikerich. I think Calzaghe's best quality's have to be his adaptability and above anything else his absolute stubberness to lose. He also, unlike other british fighters in the past, will be brusy and 'mix it' in the ring meaning he isnt intimidated by street fighters who come in with the head and hit below the belt, he gives as good as he gets. I agree he does sometimes slap when trying to finish a fight but in this day and age the ref will end the fight.

That's the odd thing about Calzaghe. He doesn't punch hard and he often slaps and does things incorrectly. He doesn't always even look that good. But he has a golden combination of handspeed, workrate, stamina, solid chin, good combination punching, ring intelligence, toughness and most importantly adaptability. He can adapt to beat almost any style. He has also shown heart before and some serious determination when in the trenches. A helluva fighter and a tough man to beat.

I don't know if he is just "ok". I think Pavlik is a very good slugger/upright boxer puncher who throws all his punches with textbook technique and in combination. He has great power and he has a lot of heart and a decent chin. Add his great physical size and youth into the mix and you have a formidable fighter on your hands.
